Mudai Ethiopian Restaurant - San Jose - Photo album

We ordered one vegetarian combo and one meat combo for three people. The waiter believed that that's all we need. Indeed, not only we were all very full, we couldn't finish the plate. All items were tasty. We liked them.
I love Ethiopian food. LOVE. There are no restaurants within 2 hours of my home, so I love trying new ones when visiting other cities. I tried Mudai & I will be returning! It is a "hole in the wall," but relatively clean. The host was friendly & the food was delicious. I ordered a vegetarian platte
Went to Mudai for Thanksgiving because I was on my layover and a friend recommended me to try this place. It was really good and the serving was big! The server i forgot his name was really warm and friendly!
Mudai Restaurant is a hidden gem in the downtown area of San Jose. The food is absolutely delicious and delightful, made with savory spices and always fresh. The spongy and malty bread called Injera compliments the food. The service is always great and served with a smile. We love this establishment
Yummy food, tasty honey wine! It was our third Ethiopian restaurant and experience was good. Shiro, shrimp tibs were yummy. We called a day before on timings and still were told wrong but owner was nice to let us sit in. Google has latest so refer that. Enjoy!
The go-to spot for Ethiopian for my wife and I. Food is insanely tasty and filling, and the service is always friendly, informative, and flexible. The location isn't glamorous, but the restaurant itself is nice on the inside and the experience is hard to beat. Great food for both meat eaters and veg
Great restaurant for Ethiopian food. Awesome for take out or to dine in. Friendly staff. Always lots of conversation to be had with staff as well as customers. Food is delicious and fresh! Team will describe and explain menu if not familiar with the food. Order spicy, vegan, mild, or get a sampler.
The food and the experience is authentic. From the moment you stop in you do feel a sense of family and the portion sizes are perfect. One meat combo is enough for one person plus leftovers it does have a nice spice balance. I will definitely come back
Absolutely loved the Ethiopian cuisine. Has a striking similarity to South Indian cuisine. We each had a Sambussa ( more like a Samosa but with lentil filling ) and 2 Vegetarian combos for the 3 of us, and it was more than filling. The Ingeras are an healthier option since it’s made of Teff. The sid
We were a party of four and everyone enjoyed eating here. We had never had Ethiopian food and the eating using thin flat bread was novel and fun. The spicy dishes can be pretty spicy but everyone enjoyed it all. If possible, come with a larger group and have it served family style so everyone can tr
