I had a great meal at Khaosan Thai Restaurant. I especially liked the fried chicken, which was some of the best I've had. The chicken was perfectly cooked, with crispy skin and juicy meat. It was also very flavorful, and the sauce it came with was delicious.
We like this place! The marinated pork is chewy and flavorful, the Khan Soi with chicken we got had two chicke legs in there! Very generous portion. Mango sticky rice was also delicious - we love how the rice was served hot! Will come back and try the other items on the menu.
The food they serve has so many flavor profiles. There were layers of flavor in the pork belly with sticky rice and the tom yum soup with chicken was utterly delicious! The portions were generous too! The interior is cozy and the servers were extremely helpful.
Quality of the ingredients were high quality. However, pad thai is very sweet, and pork neck was too fatty.
We had the best Thai food in recent times here at Khaosan. Ordered a lot of food but were able to comfortably complete everything. Portion sizes were generous. Service was great too, we never had an empty dish or plate on the table for more than few min.
What we ordered:
Roti - Definitely not grilled thin bread served with curry sauce. It’s tasty but super super greasy. Ordered three plates of these, some were not greasy, it’s a hit and miss.
Tom Yum - Yummy soup. We are fans of Tom Kha in general as we didn’t like Tom Yum Soup elsewhere but this is an exception.
Khao Soi - Oh so delicious. Egg noodles in rich and creamy peanutty curry soup with two drumsticks. Just can’t leave a drop of it.
Pla Duk Pad Ped - Stir fried deep fried catfish in a right blend of spices. Good with rice.
Basil Fried Rice - Not flavorful when compared to most of the other dishes we ordered.
Pad Kee Mao - Go for it. Must try.
Overall close to perfect lunch. Will definitely visit again.
This is now on my list of best Thai in South Bay. Delicious savory dishes. I want to try everything on the Street Food section. Khao soi broth was rich and tasty. Overnight marinated fried pork and dipping sauces were addicting. Pad kee mao was a bit too flavorful - maybe go light on the sauce. Great service and food came fast.
Update: I’ve ordered delivery for a few different dishes from here since my first review. Not as good as before. Even the dipping sauces lacked flavor.
The pad Thai flavor is good but the pork was flavorless and dry.
Food - Quality & tasty ingredients made all the dishes yummy to eat. The spice levels were correct. I didn't feel too stuffed at the end of it - Right portions. We got the khaosan Thai fried rice, pad Kee maw and a fried egg in the side. Even though we said no tomatoes, our fried rice came with tomatoes! Otherwise, no issues with the food.
Ambience - The interiors look so modern and insta worthy . Definitely click some pics with those hanging lights in the back
Service - We were there for dinner, they were gonna close in like half an hour. So they were very busy trying to hurry us up with the orders and get out soon.
The menu is a bit different from other run of the mill Thai places. I had the Jackfruit salad and it was excellent.
Delicious Thai food. Good flavors. The chicken satay was a little bit dry. . Decent service. I wished they gave more food than side vegetables tho. Their sticky rice was partially dry/solid tough.
I loved the pork neck, which was one of my favorite pork dishes of all time. Perfect chew and it was great with all of the sauces and sticky rice. The khao soi was also quite tasty, especially with the fermented veggies and spices. Crab omelet was also tasty.
Amazing food with decent ambience and cute outdoor seating. I tried Thai after a long time and Khaosan didn't disappoint. Every dish is exploding with flavors. We had roti with curry, Tom kha, pad Thai, and sauted mixed veggies. The kids enjoyed it as well. Yummiest Thai food we had in a while. Good service. 5 stars!
Honestly the best Thai food I’ve had in San Jose. Their satay chicken is so good as it comes with a creamy peanut sauce. The green Thai curry is addicting with their jasmine rice. The pad Thai came with a lot of yummy toppings. The customer service was really nice too!
We ordered Fish cakes, Khao Soi, Som tum salad and Kor Moo Yang came with sticky rice. Flavorful, fast and service was friendly. Ambient is great and located at an old plaza of Campbell. This place has both indoor and outdoor dining.
I thought the food here was quite good.
We ordered:
1. Pad thai which we didn't even touch because the portions of everything else we ordered were so large (leftovers tonight!), so I can't comment on taste. This is to speak to the portion size of everything.
2. Drunken noodles (my friend said they needed more liquid to deserve the "drunken" label, but the were so delicious as is. That was my favorite dish of the night.
3, Tom Kha soup was really good, spicier than other restaurants but I liked that. Quite tasty.
4. The green curry actually tasted "green," meaning it was distinctively different than red and yellow (it seems that elsewhere red, yellow and green curry sauces are all so similar except in color). This was quite good. I can't say it was the best I've had, but it was very good.
5. I didn't have room to tast the yellow curry, but my friend who is picky about her Thai food said it was delicious.
6. The fried bananas and ice cream were to die for.
Portions were very large. We were a table of 4. We only ate half of each one and none of the pad thai. Some complain about price in the reviews here. Well, the portions make up for that. We have an entire meal left over for tonight. Service was quick and no complaints there. Atmosphere is your typical cafeteria style feel.
We had the most wonderful time and the for was marvelous! We decided to order are own dishes; but each dish was so huge, we ended sharing with those who wanted to try dishes other than there own. Please refer to pictures. Everything was tasty and all the members of our group enjoyed their food immensely. It was just so much 5 out of 7 people had left-overs, even after sharing.
Service was very good too. Although they couldn't take more than two (2) credit cards, they did create individual bills for everyone with service charges already included. We all paid cash so absolutely no difficulty with the final tally.
Located in a small "arcade" of shops, there was plenty of lot parking, eventhough there were restaurant tents set up in parking spaces right next to the restaurant.
Very busy place! The onion rings were pretty good, probably my favorite out of all 4 dishes. The soup was too sweet, though lots of ingredients included. The fried fish was so so. The chicken curry was way to tough.
