Went there after reading all the positive reviews. I can't deny the fact that their hot dogs are genuinely tasty but the customer service is not good. They asked us to place the take out order since they were gonna close in about 20 mins or so but they let the next person to dine in. Oh please don't even think about getting chicken sandwiches here, they make good hot dogs tho
A hot dog is just a hot dog, but Umai elevates the modest hot dog to another level. Forget weinerschnitzel or Korean corn dogs or even Costco. Sure, it's pricier, but they flavors and textures are worth it. I have eaten here a handful of times and as of right now the bulgogi dog is my favorite
Great hotdogs with creative yet delicious combinations. Staff were nice but lacked some napkins… which was hard because eating these dogs could be messy.
Like how pizza got reimagine to be a blank canvas for unique flavors, Umai does it with hot dogs. Great ingredients, unique flavor combinations, and excellent execution.
Did they Kyoto hot dogs, chicken wings, and chili cheese fries. All bomb. Definitely will be back.
Tried this hole in the wall spot just by chance and it was yummy! The variety looked interesting so I gave it a go. I ordered the Tijuana wonton appetizer. I’m not sure what was in them aside from cream cheese, I think maybe bacon? Either way they were pretty tasty. You can choose sauces so I got dynamite sauce and cilantro lime. Wasn’t a huge fan of the dynamite sauce as I thought it would be spicier but the cilantro lime was pretty good match for these. I ordered the Kyoto fire hot dog. As you can see in the picture the presentation was well done and not just thrown together like some places. Flavor was good and bun was fresh and perfectly toasted. My only complaint would be that it wasn’t spicy enough but apparently I have a high tolerance for spice!
I was kind of bummed I didn’t notice earlier they had ace hard pineapple cider on tap, that’s my fave! Girl who helped me was nice as well, restaurant was clean.
I would definitely recommend trying this place, I know I plan on going back to try something new!
Heavenly food! The Kyoto Burger and the Bulgogi dog are absolutely to die for. Very high quality meat and soft buns dusted with corn powder. Their cooking techniques are sublime. The cheese stick is also better than any I’ve ever had and comes with a pretty nice mustard sauce. I love to get a side of kimchi to cleanse my palette after all the delicious meat and who doesn’t love that? Love this place — we have started going here about once a week.
Awesome food.
Went back again n again.
Nashy hot sandwich which was ok but we have better hot sandwiches elsewhere .
Kimchi fries were amazing and poku riblets- how can we miss em they r awesome snd this time tried lemon pepper sauce and was good.
California bae Hot Dog is OK
Texas Roadhouse is good
Bacon Cubano is very good
Umai Trufle baga burger is awesome
Everything we get here is always so on point. My friend recommended this restaurant to me and said I had to try it and now it’s one of my favorite places to go. One thing I always have to get is the Umai Truffle Dog, every bite is just popping with so much flavor!!! I’m a mushroom lover which is done perfectly on here especially with the aioli and teriyaki took it to a whole nother level. They got every element of this hot dog right. The Angus beef hot dog tasted as high quality as it gets. 10/10
This place is great they have a lot of variety and very tasty, the service was really slow but besides that everything was very good
Ordered the bulgogi hot dog. Fast and friendly service. Food tastes great and felt unique. Only downside is it is a bit pricey at $10 for a hot dog.
Little spot with very big flavors. Have been trying something new everytime I come and have not even tasted half the menu yet. The Korean cheese sticks are amazing with savory and sweet flavors. The Nashville sandwich was very spicy and full of flavor, better than starbirds in my opinion. Prices are very fair and hotdogs all gourmet. Worth exploring new flavors be adventurous!
Went here for lunch after seeing all the rave reviews had to find out for myself if it's worth the hype. The restaurant is relatively small on the inside and the menu is overwhelmingly big. I would say on the bright side there is literally an option for every person and what type of flavor they desire.
I was most impressed by the quality of the sausage or hot dog. The toppings were of course awesome but the quality of the meat was actually better than expected.
The main downside I would say was on the fries. Was expecting to be more blown away by the fries and the cost is pretty high for them, but overall they were relatively mediocre. My advice is just order the dogs and ignore the fries or get the combo with the generic fries to save a bit as they are nothing special.
Overall though, I am a fan. Also you can use the Clover app to earn rewards for free dogs and they have a Groupon plus deal!
Thus was my second time there. Definitely somewhere I'd go again. The food is great. The service is great. Even the suggestions from the manager on what to try was perfect. I had one of their specialty hot dogs and spicy garlic noodles. Loved it!
A+. Best hot dog I ever had. I ordered the Kyoto Fire, but instead of the hot link I got it with a 100% angus hot dog to control the heat. The jalapeños coupled with the creamy habaneros gave it the perfect amount of heat as I expected. The fried onions gave each bite that crunch. Their teriyaki sauce played with my emotions. Everything worked. The side basket of cajun fries were light & crispy and where the perfect size for two people to share.
They have several choices that look enticing, so a return trip is needed.
Small place, clean, welcoming. Ordered the Shinjuku shadow and truffle fries to share. Food came out fast and hot. Hot dog was great! Partner also liked his. The fries were good too and there was a lot. We didn't finish them. They have a lot of variety too. Definitely a good place for some unique hot dogs.
Dont go to a hot dog spot with high expectations... but after leaving this place your bar might be a lot higher. Lots of great sausage options and amazing flavor profiles. Generous portions.
Lots of ethic variety and fusion for their hot dogs and burgers! I’m not really a hot dog person, but they have so many unique combinations I want to try them all. Todays my third day back and I haven’t had a bad one yet. Next time, I might have to venture out and try a burger.
