I've been meaning to try this place out for a while now, however, that 3 Star rating wasn't too enticing. Since their competitors across the way aren't on Grubhub, I figured it was worth shot! That said, take note that my review will be based on food alone.
This was our line-up: Bento Box (Salmon Teri/Chicken Teri/Cali Maki), Salmon Teri with brown rice, Chicken Teri, and an order of their Shrimp Tempura Roll. The salmon and chicken were cooked perfectly, and they were both moist and flavorful in each of the individual orders. The Shrimp Tempura Roll and the Cali Maki were probably the best I've had in a while.
As the saying goes, "Don't knock it til you try it!" I'm givin' these folks a solid 4 Stars! I may not have tried all the fancy rolls that everyone has complained about, but for my pallet, everything we sampled was on point! I will dine in next time so that I can update my review on service and atmosphere
We had Oyako Donburi
Chicken, onion, mushroom and egg. Garlic noodles and a California roll all good.
Went out for a birthday dinner and it was terrific. Not too loud so we had great conversation. Our server was fast and efficient and friendly. They have an excellent variety of dishes I clouding tempura and sashimi.
The food was delicious. It was also a very pretty serving. The whole experience was just terrific. Would definitely recommend. The only thing that was lacking was the descriptions on the menu. It has been a very long time since my last sushi dinner so I needed help but the server was great and very helpful.
Delicious food and great service. We weren't told they were closing early. We didn't feel rushed to finish up our meal before closing. Unlike at Yuri Sushi restaurant. It's happened there multiple times. The advertise closing time 9:30 it even states it on the door. You walk in and they won't serve you! I refuse to go back. Employees @ Truya have never done this before.
That's how you run and stay in business.
The fish here is fresh and taste good. The variety is adequate. The salmon bento box is good.

really fresh food and nice variaty of menu selections, i orderd from them quite a lot and they never dissapoint !
They never pick up their phone. I have questions about the menu and would have gladly ordered on line if they have answered. This has about 5 times over the last few months, so I had to order elsewhere. When I know exactly what I want, I order online,then the food is great.
Friendly staff. I always order the red dragon. Its good.
Update: The OMG sushi roll is my new favorite sushi roll. The best thing that has ever happened to sushi.
tempura is amazing. love the crispiness of it. the tempura sauce is pretty good as well. they ran out of spicy tuna when I went but everything I bought was delicious
I am extremely picky about the quality of sushi I consume. I have always been very happy about the freshness, quality, and presentation. The fact that Truya Sushi delivers is "the icing on the cake." I highly recommend Truya Sushi.
Good food and reasonably priced for Japanese food. In spite of customizing each of the items in the order everything was prepared exactly as I had asked.
Fresh sushi with good pricing. Wait times for cooked menu items are fair. They give plenty of extra ginger when asked, friendly staff.
Best quality sushi you can get in San Jose. Taste is fire.
One of my favorite sushi places. They never disappoint. The service is fast and very nice.
Filled out the order form online and picked it up. Took it home and it was delicious. The inside was a little small, but it didn't need to be any bigger. I'll have to try their delivery service.
