Went here for a family occasion/funeral reception, first time coming. The name threw me off from what I was expecting inside, but it is a cozy and nice venue compared to how it appears outside. One side of the interior is a wider, open area for event dining and the adjacent bar. The other side had a more intimate but casually active, sports bar side and a tiny dining area, with the restrooms in the back. The food for our event was not a huge banquet selection but just good enough for our party of people, wish there was more dessert and if it was appropriate, an open bar available. The servers/active employees though not many, were very attentive and quick to gather and pick up our plates/table settings when we were each finished eating. I'm surprised that they didn't already have pitchers of iced tea along with the waters at each table, nor offer any refills or soda options. There was some coffee though too. Keep in mind like I said, this was my first time with some of my extended family's, too, so I was ok with it overall, just surprised. Thank you again Drying Shed, hopefully come here again when we're in this part of the Bay Area. Hope to explore more dining fare options and lively, happier occasions/company too.

My husband and I visited recently on our weekly date and the prime rib was amazing. The place is quaint. We seemed to be the only one but the booths were cozy ans we didn't mind. The place reminds me of a fancy restaurant in a historical town.. in positive ways. 🥰 We were greeted by the chef I believe. He was so sweet and super kind. We ordered each a plate which came out to about $50 and it was absolutely divine. For those of you who love fresh bread and butter like me, you will not be disappointed with their freshly baked rolls. And the cream of broccoli.. don't get me started! I wanted to return even before I left. Highly recommend. A natural historic establishment still standing to this day amongst the frilly and loud steakhouses around us. It's the real deal.. highly recommend.

"I recently had the most delightful dining experience at the Drying Shed, and I can't wait to share my thoughts! The highlight of my meal was undoubtedly the Chicago cut of prime rib - tender, flavorful, and served in generous portions. The vegetables and potatoes were equally outstanding, adding a perfect touch to the dish. What sets this place apart is that it's one of the few spots in San Jose where you can savor prime rib. And let me tell you, it's hands down the best I've ever tasted! The overall ambiance was pleasant, and the service was top-notch, making it a memorable evening. If you're a prime rib enthusiast like me or simply looking for a delightful dining experience, the Drying Shed is a must-visit. Trust me; you won't be disappointed!"

This was a nice little stop in for a nice steak dinner. We went on a Friday evening and didn't see too many people there, and for me the ambiance was lacking a little bit. The food though was very good and we enjoyed our time! The portion sizes were quite large so you definitely get your money's worth and the wine that we got was very tasty. It's also worth mentioning that the bread they provide is baked onsite and its very delicious. Great steak in a casual, old-timey setting.

I had the best french dip I’ve ever had. So yummy. The fresh bread loaf straight from the oven is out of this world. The fried zucchini was delicious. Definitely coming back.

We had my Birthday/Easter Lunch here, Absolutely Delicious food, including a mini-loaf of soft fresh baked bread, the salads were giant with delicious dressings. The Entree portions were so large we needed doggy bags ! The Desserts were rich and so good. The restaurant was clean & decorated very nicely. AL took care of us like we were Royalty, anticipating everything we might possibly need. It was a wonderful experience. I definitely recommend it.

Food is great. Service was slow but friendly Atmosphere was kind of terrible. They sat us in the bar with noisy TVs on. I would go back but I would want to dine in the dining room instead.

Tonight the band, a touch of brass was headlining, and so we went. The band was fantastic. The service was not great. We had a hard time getting our waitress to take our order. We did not have our food in front of us until two hours, after we arrived, my scallops were very good. My husband‘s chicken breasts were very tender and moist. The vegetables and salad work good. The filet mignon our friends had was good but not great. Others at the table said their steak was over done. At these prices, I would think you should get the Cooking correct. it seemed like the weight staff was very stressed and had a hard time. However, we really had fun dancing and the band was super.

Dined there for their special $65 Prime Rib Tuesday dinner for two people. That includes sides, bread, & salad. Service was excellent & the food was brought out in relatively quick fashion & prepared as ordered. The dining room consists of mostly booth seating which is comfortable & allows for a semi private atmosphere for you & your date. Reservations weren't required on this particular night, but it's better to be safe than having to settle for another Taco Tuesday dinner.
