Jubba Somali Restaurant - San Jose - Photo album

Wanted to try something outside of our usual eats and found this Somali restaurant on a whim. I'm so glad that my husband and I decided to take a risk and try it out. The food is delicious! At first the price per plate was a little questionable, but once the plates of food came out it was a generous
Wow, I just ran into this East African / Somali restaurant. It is not far from where I live but hidden in an out of the way area - you kind of need to know where to find it. It has a simple uncomplicated menu with a relatively small selection to choose from, and no specialty drinks to speak of. H
Amazing first time having Somali cuisine, and I'll definitely be back someday. The Roasted Goat Cutlet meal and the Mandazi sweet bread hit the spot, although next time I'll ask for extra meat. I love the colorful seating and appreciate the friendly staff - oh, and the restaurant's against a light r
A surprise tucked away in a small shopping center. Really tender meat and good portions in their specialty dish Beef Suquaar. We also had the tilapia fillets over rice. This came with mixed vegetables which were also well prepared and packed with flavor. I liked the flat bread with my beef but real

I live nearby but only came because my friend read about it in SF Chronicle. The place is next to VTA station so plenty of parking. We came when it just opened for lunch, so everything was made fresh. We ordered the sports plate, which is quite a good deal: 2 meats, 2 carbs and 2 side salads. We had
as good as this. Living on my own, working long hours in the hospital, sometimes I just crave a homemade meal. No restaurant gives me that “home-cooked” meal feel, but Jubba did. I absolutely love their food. It’s flavorful, always cooked right, served hot, and the portions are so filling (sometimes
Very low-key place but with high key flavors! Haven't had much east African food before so this was something I was looking forward to. I didn't know what to get because it all looked pretty good so the woman recommended the chicken suqaar, and maybe I can try the beef next time 😏. The food wasn't
