Loved the bread! If you like the bread from Schlotzskis, you will like Alvin Ord's. I would recommend getting double meat. I had the Salvation which is the house special. Solid choice. The restaurant has a college town/ hippie vibe and the music being played adds to that. Overall a good choice. Not sure I would drive out of my way to get here, but if you're in town stop by.
I am not a big sandwich fan, however, this place is really good. The bread is different from what I have normally had, but I loved it. Not a large selection to choose from, basically your typical classic sandwich. For not really liking sandwiches, this place was great!
The BBQ and tuna sandwiches are delicious! I eat there all the time. The only downfall is the staff. Many of them make sure you know how unhappy they are to be there/be serving you. They also ask if you "would like to leave a tip today," which makes the customer very uncomfortable.

Awesome sandwiches! Love the funky atmosphere as well. A must stop when driving to San Marcos.
Reminded us of Schlotzky's. The sandwiches reminded us of Schlotzky's. Three of us ordered the Salvation, which had ham and salami. Our sandwiches were very good, but not amazing. My mom ordered a stuffed pepper (raw jalapeno stuffed with cream cheese, not breaded or fried) and didn't like it. Prices were reasonable.
I'm a serious sandwich fanatic and let me tell you, Alvin Ord's has the best sandwiches EVER. The bread is absolutely deeeelicious. It kills me that there's only one and it's all the way down in San Marcos. I could eat here every single day and never get tired of it. Yummy!
While the bread is good, they REALLY skimp on the meat, refills are extra and the menu is limited. The salad wad shredded lettuce. College vibe.
My fiancé and I LOVE sandwiches, and this is the best sandwich shop in San Marcos, HANDS DOWN!! I would stretch to say the best place to eat anything in San Marcos. If you come through town and don't eat here, it's a damn waste!
My Favorite!!. This is truly my favorite sandwich shop!! They have great prices... even on a college girl budget! I always get the turkey sandwich, Fritos and 2 cream cheese stuffed jalapenos... I like to take bites of the jalapeno in between bites of the sandwich.. it's totally OCD but totally amazing!!
This sandwich shop has been around ever since I can remember and it is deelicious!! The large sandwich is more than enough to feed 2-3 people. Sandiwches I would recommend are the Salvation and the Roast beef. THE best chef salad in town.

Alvin Ords has the best sandwichs in San Marcos hands down. I would have to recommend the salvation (I get it with no onions and extra cheese.) Its a must if your hungry in san marcos. Another great this is that they deliver
