Dixie Cream Donuts - San Marcos - Photo album

The donuts are okay here, but they never seem very fresh. They're kind of heavy compared to the airy type donuts you'd get from Shipleys or Dunkin Donuts. I've been told they use oat flour, which may explain this. I guess you either like this or not. Worth a visit.
We usually go here during the weekend to get pigs and blankets and they are amazing especially with mustard. The people who work there are always super friendly! I would really recommend trying it out if you haven't!
Wow! These donuts are amazing. I used to go to Dixie Cream when I was at TSU...now 10 years later...it's even better! The new owner really gave the place much needed facelift.
We are in the area for the winter and joined a local Meet Up hiking/social group. A local from that group recommended this place saying they have the best donuts in town. She was right.
Donuts are delicious! If I eat one I at LEAST need 2 more. (Possibly 3) they're the right amount of sweet!
What I didn't expect is their ill-considered fresh made product. They did not have Kolaches or various donuts available yet. I expect more from a donut place that opens at 6AM to at lease have the display case filled.
This donut shop is the best in San Marcos. The apple fritters are made correctly, the donut masters care about their craft!
Best donuts I've ever had!!!! Same recipe since 1929!!! My grandparents ran this same donut shop since 1947 and the donuts taste EXACTLY THE SAME!!! LOVE IT!!!!!!!!
