Theresa & Johnny's Comfort Food - San Rafael - Photo album

We dropped by after a long hike. Ordered a variety of food. The ingredients were tasty but the waitress forgot to remove the raw onions per request. Atmosphere was fun. Service was overall decent. Will come back.
Theresa & Johnny's Cafe is one of the jewels of the downtown restaurant royalty. Situated prominently near the beginning of the downtown strip that runs the length of 4th Street, this restaurant has enjoyed its place as one of the mainstays of San Rafael breakfasts and lunch restaurant food. Aside
Amazing breakfast! So glad they are back open after 2 years. New owners but the food is still soooo good. Deep fried french toast with eggs over medium and bacon has always been my go-to, and it's still the same as it used to be. Prices went up just a little bit, but less then most other restaurant
Really great atmosphere, with old dinner feel and memorabilia! Quick service and super friendly, attentive staff. The food was delicious and served timely. We enjoyed the appple sausage benedict, with perfect hollandaise and the best chicken friend steak. The skillet biscuits are absolutely amazing
On my way out to Samuel P Taylor State Park to visit my pal Thurgood Marshall who's camping at one of the creekside spots, and passed by Theresa and Johnny's Cafe and thought I'd better grab lunch. A quick check for the law and an illegal u-turn and I was all in. Theresa and Johnny's sure puts out
Great Downtown San Rafael breakfast spot. Interesting decor.
I loved the "Ruben". One of the best sandwiches I've tried in a while. I've also tried the "Blackstone"...also really good. Ran into some friendly cyclist enjoying breakfast here too...
Found this interesting place after trying to eat at Sol Food. They didn’t allow indoor dining, so I strolled into this place. Was hesitant, but glad I walked in. I asked for the chefs special, and they recommended their deep fried sandwich. It was actually amazing! I wish they spread the sugar out a
Soooper amazing awesome place. The special almond croissant french toast is deep fried with a crispy outside and delightful fluffy inside. The corned beef hash is tasty with a nice hint of pepper. The staff was funny and friendly. Looking forward to visiting again. Cash only place, so remember your
Recommended breakfast or brunch stop before driving up to Sonoma. I have not been one to turn down homemade corn beef hash. Sour dough bread also a solid choice to mop up all the deliciousness. Lots of leftovers.
Yum! Probably the best French toast I’ve ever had! Super crispy- almost like fried dough/funnel cake. Blueberry pancakes were tasty too. Cool space is a mix between a classic hole in the wall diner and hipster coffee shop.
This place was amazing!!! The crispy French toast was phenomenal, so good I forgot to take a picture🥲 the hash browns were crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. Staff were attentive and quick to help us. All in all great breakfast at a good price.
The fish tacos are amazing! I've had them twice now, and they are some of the best I've every had. The fish is flavorful, the tortilla didn't fall apart in your hands, there are plenty of veggies on them, and the sauce is perfect. The burger was enjoyed as well. It's cold in there, so bring a sweate
It's a great down to earth breakfast place.. my favorites are their pancakes and how thin they make them yhem
