If you are looking for a real German restaurant, this is it! From atmosphere to the food, and the entrainment! Very impressive. The staff are very friendly and quick service! Who would expect this type of place in Sanford! Came on Friday night I highly recommend that you have a reservation! It’s a very energetic place, if you’re looking for a quiet night out this isn’t it! But also very enjoyable! Around nine o’clock the crowd thinned out! The festivities still continued! The food options had plenty to choose from! Each one as delicious as the next. The drinks are very good German beers. Be sure to have a designated driver it’s easy to get carried away with the atmosphere. The non alcoholic drinks are also good! Sweet tea ect. The prices of the food are reasonable especially for what you are getting!

In all the years going to Sanford area as a family or on date night with wife we weren't able to get a seat or were closed - 1st time there and we sat in the newer section build out like 3years ago and it was well worth it. Seating is more private and sorta feels like you walked into NC mountains! Haha We had a variety of food to try it out and seeing how compared to some of our German friends cooking. Pancakes were great with some sort cream + flat bread was awesome and cooked well + got the snitzel veal for a $6 upcharge but it's more authentic and well well worth it. Got extra mushrooms on it with the gravy sauce and woe was cooked perfectly. Honestly best German tasting authentic food I've had in USA in past 25yrs.

Absolutely amazing dining experience! On the weekend, it's a lively, almost festival-like atmosphere with live music and costumed serving staff. The food is fantastic -- we tried the "butcher shop platter for two" as a sampler, with rather generous portions of an assortment of sausages and smoked pork loin, red cabbage, sauerkraut, and the wonderfully loaded "heaven and earth" potatoes. Great food, great atmosphere, and great service. Will definitely check it out again the next time we're in Sanford!

Dinner with Krampus. This was our first experience here and it was simply amazing. Highly recommended adult night out holiday experience. The food was very tasty, live entertainment, and various versions of Krampus perusing the dining area. We had two different schnitzels, both were really good, as well as a pretzel with mustard and cheese. Can't wait to go back and try more stuff! Highly recommended if you like German food and beer. For those that are gluten free they offer a whole menu with several options.

Great music while we were there! I don’t normally eat potato salad outside of my Oma’s recipe, but it was great, very close!

We HAD to try Hollerbach’s for our first visit to Sanford, and it was a delight and the highlight of the visit. The speed of service was ideal, and our waiter, Nick, made the visit memorable. The meals were all phenomenal; potato pancakes, schnitzel, cheesy spatzel, and the cakes. The highlight was the bee sting cake, and the portions were all generous, too. We’ll definitely be back.

First time visiting. Most definitely will return. We visited Saturday afternoon 9/23. First impression: it's more modern and updated than expected. Bright happy atmosphere on a Sat afternoon. Luckily we were seated at a table in front of the band. We got to meet Jimmy and Eckhard. They play a fun selection of German songs and polkas. Our beautiful waitress was Al... Helpful and charming and did I mention... beautiful. The food was top notch. Excellent wurst and spaetzel. Would love to return soon.

Go to place when we get to Sanford. Food is always amazing. I typically get the sausage platter but changed it up and tried the pork shank. It tasted great and was so moist and tender it fell right off the bone. Server was a hoot and the atmosphere is always a lot of fun. Make a trip to Sanford and try it out, you won’t be disappointed.

Great food, service and atmosphere. Price is reasonable, can experience traditional dining or simplified menus upstairs. The Hollerbach beer was very unique and refreshing.
