Meeting friends flying out of Sanford and we hate chain restaurants and look for local, American owned places. Mel's was perfect!

One of the servers was walking around mid-day handing out samples for everyone to try, and the way she did it (I thought she was the owner). Just thought the atmosphere was really good. Everything is made fresh.

This place is amazing. Patrick was a great host, very receptive, knowledgeable, and conversative. The food was great and very well balanced. Many great options. Overall the food 9/10, service 10/10, speed/accuracy 10/10. Definitely don't want to miss.

Lovely Diner experience, friendly staff even when they are under pressure. So happy to see Mel’s open again and under amazing new ownership. Had the Ribeye steak and eggs. Steak was very high quality and cooked perfectly. They use fresh eggs, and the home fries are amazing. 2nd only to the service and hands on ownership.

I love that this old greasy spoon is back since this neighborhood lacks in good dives. The weird waffle place that was here temporarily is now gone. The patty melt was everything I’d want in a diner burger. Service was fast and friendly.
Mel’s has been in the same location for many years and is a family diner. The restaurant and grounds are clean and welcoming. Charla was attentive and helpful and Trista joined in when the place got busy. Customers getting To Go orders and a lot eating in.

Mel’s has been a staple of Sanford for many years. Just moved up this way and gonna be seeing a lot of me here in the near future. Great food and excellent service makes for a great breakfast! Gonna try lunch real soon too.
We had the skillet breakfast. It was plentiful and delicious! I couldn’t quite finish mine, but husband had no problem.
