I’ve driven past Sal’s tons of times before and finally stopped to check them out. They’ve got a good variety of ice cream flavors and Italian ice flavors. I ordered a gelati with lemon Italian ice and vanilla ice cream. They offer great portions for their prices.
I had the pineapple & strawberry Dole cream's.
- They taste great.
- Have to go LOW on the portions like they did.
- Too pricey for the portions in tiny plastic cups.
- Great customer service.
It’s a nice spot with reasonable prices and a drive through, but I don’t love the flavor of the chocolate soft serve. The vanilla is good! Next time I’ll skip the twist and get vanilla with Italian ice. I just wish they had a non-fruity flavor to mix with the vanilla (like sea salt caramel or coffee!) Pup cups are great. My dog was so excited.
Great little shop in Sanford. Ice cream and Italian ice is great and their prices are very reasonable. They have about 20+ ice cream flavors and about 15+ of Italian ice flavors. There’s only drive-thru and walk up and parking in their actual lot is limited. The staff is friendly and work fast to get through the crowds of people coming.
Ive been here multiple times and Ive always had a good experience, the customer service is great and so is the icecream. Today was extra great because the man who served us also treated my Lola to a pupcup! Made her day and mine
Went with my husband for the first time and order the Gelato black cherry and the tasted coconut ice cream, absolutely delicious, great noticeable flavor, nice fruit balance and very silky smooth ice cream, also, the girls were very kind and fast, will definitely be returning.
So I love Sal's, it's the ONLY place I love to get ice cream. I take my kids often but I've never brought the dog. Tonight she insisted on coming too AND they have pup cups!! We all ate our ice creams on the drive home! This is just the best little ice cream place. Photos are dark but look how cute!
Great place, make sure you arrive over an hour prior to closing hours. The last minute rush gets really long. Can be over half hour wait if you go on a busy day within the last hour. Great prices and great selection. Very small plaza and it's easy to get stuck in when parked and the line wraps around. You can walk over if you park at Walgreens!
This is my favorite soft serve ice cream spot in the Sanford area. The ice cream is creamy, great tasting, and always enough to help with those ice cream cravings. They have so many flavors to choose from. The prices are reasonable. I will always be a retuning customer.

Amazing ice cream! Had the coconut almond fudge and it was to die for❣️ Wait time for drive through can be ++ but definitely worth it.
Sal's Italian ice is number one in Sanford hands down.
