I love this place! Their food is oh so good! The servers are extremely friendly. The tea has got to be the best I've had since my grandma's tea when I was a child!

Decent Eastern Style BBQ, Excellent Country Cooking. Another one of those local places you need to be aware of what they are, and more importantly for some, what they are not. This is not the greatest BBQ joint in the state, but it is pretty darn good chopped pig, more Eastern NC than anything else, with some heat to it. The pork is tender, well-sauced, and comes in a moderate chop - I like this barbecue.

The country cooking here is also very, very good. The setup is that of a small cafeteria, with 4 or 5 meats, same with veggies, and of course barbecue. You can also choose from a small variety of fried seafood at lunch, but this is cooked to order, so you'll have to wait a little while.

The Fried Chicken, CS Steak, and Chicken & Pastry where very, very good, as was the Fried Okra, Cabbage (well decorated with red pepper flakes), and the hush puppies are excellent.

The pricing is very reasonable - we had 4 meats, 4 veggies, 2 drinks, and hush puppies for $17.45, tax included. Now that's a couple of real value meals. They have all you can eat items on Thur & Fri, bring even more value.

As to what this place is - it is a very good country cooking/BBQ joint. This is not a place to come to count calories or eat salads with the girls. The decor tells the story - it is shaped like a barn, with farm equipment and utensils all around, along with vintage signs and ads. This is a small, funky southern eatery with solid food, and plenty of it.

Great southern food - BBQ (pull pork), fried chicken, butter potatos, fried okra, hushpuppies... YUM! And really not expensive. Think I gained 10 pounds from lunch.
