Reviews Over Easy Cafe

Visited today for a late breakfast with my other half. We arrived around 1045 and after checking in with the hostess (as required), we were given an electronic (table ready) device and advised : “we are free to roam the shops in the adjacent plaza, and a table should be ready in about 20 minutes” About 20 minutes later, the buzzer advised our table was ready. The place was rammed with people, which in combination with its good Google reviews (4.7) was a promising sign. We were seated at a small table near the back of the house, and greeted almost immediately by our (male) server, who did not avail us of his name. He took our drink orders and quickly returned with two delicious cups of coffee. About 3 minutes later, he came by again to ask if we were “ready to order?” We hesitated for what could have been 20 seconds, and my other half ordered a Breakfast Scramble with a side of fresh fruit. I had the Stuffed French Toast with Strawberry topping, which surprisingly did not come with a side offering. I ordered (at an up-charge) a side of bacon AND a side of sausage patties. (They offered links, also) The food came out hot and very presentable in less than 10 minutes, possibly as few as 8 minutes. The bacon was perfectly crispy, but a bit too cool. The fresh fruit was pineapple heavy. Everything else knocked it out of the park. Our OPINIONS of the bacons temperature and the quantity of pineapple in a fresh fruit side, should NOT deter you from coming here. The waiter was professional, prompt, and very efficient. He didn’t have much personality though, which may have been a function of how busy they (and he) were. The Over Easy Cafe does an EXCELLENT breakfast! Pros: 1. Food portions are respectable 2. Service was very good and fast 3. Prices are very fair 4 Coffee was tasty Cons: 1. Place is VERY busy 2. Parking is lousy (about 12 spots out front) A definite visit is in order!

Went to grab some breakfast around 9 AM on a Sunday. Wait was about 25 minutes. Glad some shops were open since seating to wait was limited. It’s worth the wait. The egg sandwich was great. Daughter loved the biscuits and gravy. Pancakes were our favorite filled with raspberries. Service was quicker then most on the island and it was a great experience. We will be back.

Quick service and delicious piping hot food - what more could you want for breakfast? It’s easy to see how the Over Easy Cafe is a favorite breakfast spot for many. We ordered the crab and asparagus omelet and the blueberry pancakes. Both were delicious! The coffee was meh for me, but I’m also very picky about my coffee. The pricing is reasonable for the island. The servers were definitely hustling to turn over tables quickly. Overall, I would go back to try other dishes.

Great place to get a good first meal! Everything was good to taste and all the plates being served around me looked awesome! It may have a lil bit of a wait to get in but it is definitely worth it. Plus there is a cute little plaza with little shops to browse while you wait for a seat. The seafood options are delicious and the classic where on point.

One of our favorite breakfast places on the island. We look forward to visiting every year when we’re here on vacation. Foods great and the service is even better. Theres also a few shops connected to the restaurant that will help you pass the time should there be a wait (which there usually is). Stop in for breakfast the next time you’re on Sanibel or Captiva. You’ll love it! 😎🏝🍳🥞☕️

Very busy breakfast, Service was very quick. Food was hot and fresh. Bacon a little over cooked for my liking. Staff was hustling, and friendly. Wifes said her crab anb asparagus omelet was "AWSOME". Lots of places to eat so will have to try others. But I recommend eating here.

Breakfast portions are large and food comes out quick. There were a few tables open inside and outside, but we got placed at the bar in front of the kitchen since we asked for first available. Guess all the tables were called for? Blueberry pancakes are jammed with berries. Bacon is good, but crispy so keep that in mind if you don't prefer that. Homefries were ok, but could have been crispier. Friendly staff and good chefs.

Nice spot for breakfast, little bit of a wait but remember your on island time! We had the Ho Hum and the Most Toast. They were very filling, we now know why everyone rides their bikes everywhere! Work off the big meals! We are outside, no special views but outside is always better. Service was good, coffee was hot!

They have a small bar area along with inside and "outside" eating areas. Busy place, there on the island!! The food was very good, it was piping hot!! I had a side of bacon. My Skillet breakfast, came with 2 eggs. (my way) scrambled, mushroom, bell pepper, potatoes, tomatoes, onion and cheddar jack cheese. Good coffee too!

Fun atmosphere, pretty busy at brunch time on a Sunday but didn’t have to wait long for a table. The food was really tasty with varied menu options. We got the Mediterranean omelet and the fruit bowl. There are also plenty of less healthy alternatives if you’re interested. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. Can’t think of a reason not to go here!

A little bit pricey, but the food was good and well-behaved leashed dogs are permitted to dine in the outside dining areas. I had an Atkins Breakfast here, which tasted just fine. If I were on Sanibel again, I would come back for breakfast again. They have specials every day as you can tell by the sign board in the photo, and a very large breakfast selection. There was a large lunch menu, too.

A wide variety of selections sure to please everyone in your dining party! This restaurant is somewhat small with both inside and outside seating that fill up quickly. The wait time is easily spent meandering the shops in the plaza. Delicious breakfast spot, will be back to try lunch!

Excellent place for a nice breezy breakfast. We were quoted 45 minutes for the wait (Memorial day weekend) and it ended up being 20-25 minutes. We ordered the Country Fried Steak and the Sanibel Shrimp Benedict. Steak was nicely cooked and the gravy was flavorful. The shrimp Benedict was very good-eggs poached perfectly, shrimp not over cooked. The house potatoes were generous and nicely seasoned. Coffee was a bit weak but overall great value for the price and the breeze was lovely after a morning of shelling on the beach.

Good place to get breakfast on sanibel. We went around 10 and only waited 15 minutes for 2 people. The homemade cinnamon bun was delicious and I highly recommend. My grandma loved her breakfast burrito and it had a little bit of spice. Eggs Benedict was good. Fairly priced for sanibel.

Ate here twice during a vacation stay in Sanibel. The wait staff were attentive and prices were reasonable. My wife and I both had omelettes and coffees during our visit visit. I ended up having the gulf shrimp while my wife had an asparagus with crab.. Both were delicious and came with 4 half-slices of toast and potatoes. The total came to around 35 bucks plus tip. We came back for lunch the next day and I had the tilapia sandwich and my wife had the mahi mani along with two diet cokes. Both meals were quite good. The fish was a bit dry, but nothing to complain about as the tarter sauce helped. The meal came with a large portion of fries. The total damage was again around 35. My family brought our dog for both trips for outside seating. My dogs was pumped to have his own little water bowl that the waiter supplied. If you're in the area I'd stop by this nice local establishment.
