Chapter One’s New Year’s Eve dinner and celebration was a home run! The special menu included fresh oysters, Tomohawk Pork Ribeye, Risotto with Truffle slices (yum), citrus salad with fresh house-made soft cheese. We had it all and loved every bite. The staff was beyond attentive - they were cool people. Drinks even went above and beyond. Their flaming drink, “Bonfire of the Vanities,” was a big hit and the Veuve Clicquot we got for a special occasion we were celebrating, was top notch! Chapter One is not only a great bar/restaurant, but a family of people who serve to please. Thanks so much, all of you, and keep up the great work!!
I've been here three times so far. All three were on Sunday for brunch....noise level is a little high, but everyone seems to enjoy the atmosphere. Our wait staff have all provided excellent service and the kitchen has done its part by providing tasty food. Kudos to the bartenders for an excellent Moscow Mule....its hard to have anywhere else now! Thanks Chapter One team for making our visits worth the drive! Almost forgot...Rav Blue never disappoints...truth is he is one of the reasons we seem to gravitate to brunch!!!!!!
The music was a little loud, but the service and food were great! So happy to have found a delicious vegan option too; their artichoke pasta was absolutely amazing (and hubs liked his burger and fries). We'll definitely go back when we get the chance!
A very nice place to just get together with friends and have a fun time. Food is delicious and drinks are great. JJ store owner is an amazing person whom cares about his customer's. Entire staff is very courteous and friendly whom provide great customer service. I definitely recommend this place.
Love this place! Great gastro pub. Food is awesome! Great beer on tap and bottle, with killer wiskeys and spirits. Bartenders are welcoming and knowledgeable.
First time there for their brunch and bottomless mimosas... Had an amazing time! Food was good, service was great, and best of all Rabbi Blue's singing was so much fun. Great performer and lots of fun!
Hey Lex!... I see you bobbin your head... Not your traditional Saturday brunch... Funky and fresh... Good food, good drink, good music...
We love everything about this place.. Food, service, entertainment.. Sunday Brunch a must.. Our singing Rabbi rocks!
Had a great experience. Great service alongside great food. And awesome entertainment for Sunday brunch. Highly recommend it five stars and two big thumbs up

Great place been there a few times. Food is awesome and service is great. I was there with my family after a wedding ceremony before the reception and we had a great time.
Atmosphere was great, music was great, service was top shelf, foot was just foody enough and really good. We were there for Mother's Day and left very happy.
Celebrating my friends birthday and we dropped by here for lunch. I came on a Sunday for lunch. I really enjoyed that there was a DJ spinning. It’s the only spot that I know of that has a DJ this early. Loved that. We walked out and I was crossing the street and the host was running after us. Guess I dropped $40 (2 $20’s) and she came back to give me the money I dropped. That was super nice of her. Been coming to Chapter for a few years and that made me feel super special.
Came here for a friend's birthday and loved feeling of this bar. Solid menu with tons of great food and drink options. I was impressed by the quality of both the food and the drinks. This this the perfect casual bar to watch the game or celebrate. I will definitely be coming back all football season.
Wow! A must visit. Staff makes you feel like long lost family, everyone of them!! Helpful with recommendations on their drink and food menu. Party of 3 and everything was made perfect to order without writing it down! Place filled up quick, glad I had a reservation. Also bought a round for the back of the house for $10, they are worth it!! Wanted the braised ribs "get shorty" but the weren't ready and had the steak and potatoes. My dinner companions had the Burger Royale and loved them.
Love the big windows. Nice corner spot. The food was quite scrumptious. Steak Mac n' Cheese was absolutely delicious. The Lobster Burger was also a menagerie of flavors in every bite. A fat juicy burger, probably big enough to feed two people. The Duck Fries are a must! You will not be disappointed. Oh and let's talk about their take on the Mexican dessert, the Sopapilla. Ermagurd it was to die for! Such a delicacy of a dessert. They have a nice sized bar, plenty of seating, a few big TVs with sports and dim lighting throughout the restaurant. Highly recommend a visit.
I was here specifically for an event so it would be different if I just showed up randomly but the food was good the drinks were good and the service was perfect. Fun place. If I'm ever in town I'll definitely visit again.
Just amazing. My girl and I just celebrated her birthday there with 20 friends and family. Everybody in our party enjoyed their food. The cheese curds and lumpia were great starters. Fred and the staff were all so amazing. Highly recommended... Just wish the white chocolate souffle would've been available.
Amazing place to hang out with your group. Lots of music and lots of fun. Variety drinks wine , beer, cocktails etc. I loved fried cheese curds it was amazing. This is of the unique appetizer. I tried wine here it was bold and good too. And cocktail was classy. This is kind off sports bar match the urban style. Cool fusion bar.
Been going to this place since it opened and it's consistently one of the best restaurants in Southern California. I love the seasonal menu changes because it gives me opportunities to try some amazing new food at a restaurant I love. Amazing drink selection and great staff. The atmosphere is also really unique.
Food was average but happy hour is always fun. Lumpia was a little bit too light and a little bland from what I'm used to. Beers were alright and can't complain about cheap cold beer! Our server was excellent and made sure we were doing okay a lot.
Food: 5/10
Service: 7/10
Vibes: 5/10
Value: 7/10
It is a really nice restaurant we loved the food and the Atmosphere was great! We will definitely go again!
10.03.23 Pretty good restaurant for a meetup in downtown Santa Ana. The restaurant was packed the night we went because of a huge gathering. A bit loud for my taste but the noise settled a bit when the huge group finished.
Service has been pretty good each time I visited. Servers are knowledgeable about the food options and that helps a lot. We had good two kinds of IPA beer options, lumpia, and the wild mushroom flatbread - all very good!
Pretty good cocktail options, beer options, and food menu.
There's this watch your step sign at entrance and it never fails to surprise one or two. I wished management or owner would get rid of that step. I guess it's all about the food, the drinks, and service. All good there.
We happened upon Chapter One when looking for a different restaurant. Super glad that we did!
It was Taco Tuesday 🌮 and we made it in time for HH.
The potato tacos and "vegan" fish tacos are both scrumptious! The sangria is very refreshing and an excellent choice as well.
Our server was delightful and very helpful with recommendations and sharing the history of this place.
Definitely a place to stop, rest a bit and enjoy the experience!
Food was nice, wait was long. We were there during brunch, no way to be seated but still took 2 hours from order to check which just was weird. Mimosa flight is 4 cups of juice and a bottle of champagne as well. That is Not a complaint! It was an experience and I'd go again I'd just prepare myself for a long afternoon
The hostess was super nice and so was my server. I didn't catch their names. I was in town for a training class and completely forgot about the world cup games which was Mexico vs Saudi Arabia I think. Thankfully there was seating outside. I didn't mind being outside I was comfy. I had the chicken bacon sandwich with fries. Amazing! Double shot of tequila and a tequila cocktail which was 💣. I look forward to my next training for work because I will definitely be stopping by again! Super friendly staff and very attentive even though there was a soccer game going on. It was nice to watch the people inside react to the game while hearing the game from outside. Best solo lunch in my opinion.
Decided to take the ladies out on the town and stopped at my local favorite Santa Ana spot... Chapter One. They had outside and inside seating the place was packed. But for good reason, had bkmb hip hop/RnB music playing to keep the night lively. We option to have our chest day early and we got down and busy with our selection of food and drinks. The staff was friendly, personable and made sure the ladies were taken care off. If you ever check out this place, make sure you try the pizza with steak and the Stimulus Check (drink)... Make you feel how you felt when you got that Stimulus check.
The hostess and my server both had a great disposition. Their names eluded me. I completely forgot about the world cup games, which I believe were Mexico vs. Saudi Arabia, because I was in town for a training session. Thank goodness there was a patio. Being outside didn't bother me because I was at ease. With fries, I ate the chicken bacon sandwich. Amazing! A tequila cocktail that was made with a double shot of the liquor. I look forward to my next work training since I'll be back here for sure! Despite their being a soccer match going on, the personnel was incredibly polite and attentive. It was enjoyable to observe how those inside responded to the game while also hearing it from outside.
Fun location. The ambience was unique. Terrific service. The food was amazing.
I want to thank our server Chris. He did an amazing job serving my friends and I. We made a joke about leaving a bad review but this is my way of thanking him on his recommendations. Food and drinks are amazing here. The 👮♂️ is a different story tho. Thank you Chris.
