Best breakfast we had in Santa Barbara during our visit. It's a small place but fast service and accommodating. The bacon was fantastic. I had an omelette which was great with a side of French toast. She had the blueberry pancakes and they were delicious. Highly recommend this place.
I had an overall satisfying and enjoyable experience here, but it nothing about it blew me away. If you're looking for a hearty breakfast with a nice diner ambiance, I'd say go for it.
The goods: The eggs, hashbrowns, sausage, and english muffin I had were all tasty and hot. I was especially impressed with the muffin. The orange juice tasted fresh. I liked the atmosphere, noise level, and comfort in the booths.
The bads: The coffee was pretty weak and not so tasty. The fresh blueberry pancakes were decent, but I've had a lot better. The breakfast for two people was relatively pricey (about 30 bucks after tip).
Seems like a good place to bring kids, as they have drawing supplies around.
Established in 1992 and has been going strong ever since. Rick the cook. Has been there since 1993 and swings a mean spatula. Greatfoid and fun.
Enjoyed a very solid diner-style breakfast here. Food was good and the prices were very reasonable.
AWESOME PLACE TO EAT!. Garrett's Old Fashioned Restaurant is a delicious and inexpensive place to eat. You can not find prices this cheap in SB! My favorite dish are the Monte Cristo..yumm yumm. Please try Garrett's - you won't be disappointed, I promise.
