Perfect date night. Arrived for our reservation at 6 pm to an almost empty house. Table right next to the window with an ocean view. It took a while for our waiter to come take our order, but when the food finally came, it was delicious. Our waiter was quite eccentric - he was friendly and gave great recommendations but would leave quickly after checking in on us. And a few times he even came by and just dropped something off without saying anything. He's a funny guy, and we grew to love him. His recommendation for the grilled prawns appetizer was amazing. The sea urchin pasta had a nice flavor of the sea - not the best uni I've had but it went well with the pasta. The halibut smelled amazing and went well with the peas and artichoke and lightly grilled onion - not terribly flavorful but it grew on me and I ended up really liking it especially after adding some salt. Our waiter convinced us to order the one dessert I hadn't been considering - the salted caramel sundae, and he was right that everything went very well together. Overall a wonderful evening.

This place was absolutely amazing. It's located in Santa Monica and has very scenic and beautiful views. The entire staff was very friendly. Our waiter was a very nice gentleman. The food was absolutely amazing, we had the Lobster Benedict and it didn't not disappoint. I would definitely recommend this place if you're in the area.

We were staying up in Santa Monica for a family event and decided to check out Shutters by the beach. We grab some cocktails at the 1 Pico bar. We were greeted by Peyton who was such a pleasure to talk too. She was very knowledgeable about cocktails and made us a few delish drinks. We started going through the specialty cocktails but didn't quite get through them all. We will definitely come back to finish that list. I would highly recommend this place and if your luck maybe Peyton will be working there.

First time at this restaurant and I was just amazed by the location. You have a beautiful view of the ocean from this restaurant. The ambience is 5 star and the employees working here were great, courteous and friendly. The food was just amazing. Hands down one of the best seafood restaurants in the LA. I highly recommend this place for all the seafood lovers. All the items we ordered were great. Definitely will return to this restaurant if in LA. It is a high end restaurant so it is expensive but worth it.

This is long, long overdue. Years ago I had my first official date with my girlfriend at One Pico. So I wanted to propose to her on the beach outside and then have a celebratory dinner at the same table where we had our first date. I want to give a special shout out to manager Owen Edson who was able to find the exact table and reserve it for us. Long story short, she said yes and we ended up getting legally married on the beach there the following year. Aside from the sentimental importance of this place, the service and the food are fantastic. We always love going there and cannot say enough great things about One Pico and Shutters.

If you are looking for an elegant brunch on the beach experience, this is the place! We had a 10.45 reservation, but there were a lot of empty tables where we reached. Got a nice table with smashing views. They even opened the french door next to the table so that we can experience the sea breeze. Ordered a japanese whiskey cocktail variation of a mojito. Quite refreshing. Wife ordered a rose wine cocktail without realizing that there was tequila in it. The staff was kind enough to replace it with a tasty bellini instead. Wife ordered a frittata which was topped with truffled cheese. I ordered a pastrami hash. Both dishes were good but nothing spectacular. Around $45 pp. Basically, come here for the fantastic views and service. If you are looking for a gastronomic experience, this is not the place. Coming here for a cocktail is not a bad idea as well.

Great service and location, especially sunset. Food was average. Squid doesn't go great with potatoes! Scallops were overcooked and soggy! Dessert was great.

Servers were very attentive and knowledgeable however the food is kind of a mixed bag. We came with a relatively large group and so we were able to sample a lot of different dishes. Meat and seafood dishes were great. I actually like the concept of seasoning the meat simply with just salt and pepper and letting the quality of the meat shine. The vegetable dishes were truly spectacular but I would skip the pasta dishes. They were "fine", but for the money you would expect something a little more elevated than just "fine", and maybe this was just the night we were there but all of the pasta was undercooked, meaning not quite al dente, and it didn't really matter which type it noodle was, they were all like that.

Amazing meal - we had the prawns (must do!) the burrata and prosciutto, brussel sprouts and beef rib pasta. Overall the ambience, the view and the location where spot on. The servers even commented on that they 'get a better view everyday than a CEO'. Nice work 1 Pico!

Just tried the new menu and it is out of this world! So many amazing dishes. Faves - the cucumbers and tomatoes, squid ink pasta, pork chop, harissa carrots and of course the salted caramel popcorn and brownie sundae. Oh my god!!!

Fine dining by candle light with the family on Father's Day. This restaurant is outstanding! Incredible food, lovely ambiance with a view of Santa Monica pier. I could not have asked for better food, overall customer service or a better waiter! My 6 year old son Mikey walked up and started a conversation about him graduating from Kindergarten with acadamy award nominee Frank Langella. Lol. Mr. Langella was such a sweet man talking to Mikey and telling us how blessed we were to have such a sweet child! Another group of ladies dining In front of us said the same! Wow! In my opinion this was thee best day! I hope my husband felt the love because we tried to show our love for him. � � �� Thank you 1 Pico for making our day of dining a night to remember! I would rate you a 10 If I could!

Ultimately, it's all about the window tables overlooking the ocean vistas; friendly staff and best off all located at my hotel room inside Shutters on the Beach. Perfect place for an elegant yet low-key meetings.

made reservations in advance for window view online for anniversary dinner - upon arrival restaurant greeter advised 1 Pico aka Shutters does not guarantee window views - but does not advertise this online when making reservations - for the $$$ pricing food and service does not warrant a good or excellent rating. This restaurant has much potential - under the right management - thumbs down on Shutters - and thumbs up on the valet service

Aka Shutters, this restaurant has it all- ambiance, great acoustics so you can have a conversation, a fabulous wine list , delicious, tender food, easy parking, and excellent service. The fish was delicious and the octopus was so tender that I actually ate some of it, which I never do because I usually dislike the chewy texture. We all thought this place was fabulous, and we go to many great restaurants. Just follow Pixo down to the beach as far as you can go and you are there.

Excellent Meal. Had a great meal at the always picturesque Shutters. Of particular note the Braised Pork Belly appetizer and Skirt Steak Entree were particularly noteworthy. Really enjoyed the romesco sauce the steak was served with.

Great atmosphere & good service but I've never had such lowsey food in my life. The beef ravioli was extremely oily and bad tasting & the rib eye was even worst. I would return for drinks only.
