Not that many places leave you craving a bite consistently for over 20 years. We’re blessed in Santa Monica to have a place on Montana Ave offering fine dining type dishes at bar food prices. Say what you want about the burger, but you’re still talking about it. Smart thing to do is to try for yourself and form your own opinion. I can eat the tater tots daily and sometimes do. I appreciate that there are seasonal dishes and the attention paid to plating. Obviously no one will impress you more with their beer selection and the bartenders are some of the most knowledgeable in town. Never change FO.

Let me be honest….. I only stopped in for a quick beer with a friend. Never had the food but I heard it s very good. My experience with the beer was great. They have 20+ taps with lots of interesting kinds. I had a mango Heffinvise (spelling?). It was awesome. They have both inside and outside seating and a cool vibe

This place serves outstanding food and has a great beer selection and very attentive and friendly staff. The only negative was the fact that, on a Saturday night, they started very visibly breaking down the restaurant for an early close at 9pm. The posted hours have them open until 11pm. The kitchen closed at 9:15pm, and they said they were trying to close the whole place down by 9:30. This made us feel quite rushed and we left earlier than planned as a result.

The food was bomb, amazing, delicious; we had the famous burger and shared a steak too, the steak was alright, but let me tell you guys the burger was out of this world, I would love to come back for that burger, the only thing i did not like was the setting, its small and thats not the issue but the lighting was very dark inside i could barely see my food, wish i couldve gotten a picture but overall score to the place 8.5/10 but food was 100 easily.

This place has the best hamburgers on the planet! The french fries not so much unless you get the sweet potato fries those are pretty darn good. Great variety of beers it's a little dark in the place but that's a nice mood. But the burgers are always the best You need to stop by and try one!

*Good sized outdoor space on sidewalk and a few tables on the street. Easy to get a table on Saturday night (10 min wait and they do takeaway drinks) What can I say about Father’s Office that hasn’t already been said? We know the burger is INCREDIBLE AND MUST BE ORDERED, even if you’re thinking of branching out. Do not resist the burger. GET IT. Unless you’re a vegetarian. If that’s the case, I’d definitely recommend the spiced cauliflower with lentil hummus, mint, and yogurt. And the shoestring fries! I had sweet potato fry envy after placing our order but when the reg fries came, I was happy there were so many on the basket (they lasted longer). It also goes without saying that their beer selection is A+!

I've always gone to the Culver City location (which is huge and great for bigger groups). First time at this og location... definitely a more cozy feeling, but the food and service was just as good and less "pressured" to leave when you're done eating (at the culver city location they start clearing your table when you're done eating, so you feel pressured to leave or buy more food/beer). The only negative is that the burger alone is now $19 + fries $8....prices have really climbed. The restaurant was 75% empty during peak lunch hours on a Sunday, though this is probably more of a night spot. Still my 2nd favorite burger after in n out in CA and the fries are SO addictive with the garlic aoli. Street parking was ample, meter, credit card.

Cool little bar. I like the Culver City location a bit better but they have an excellent beer selection

It is a small bar. Only for 21+. You order everything at the bar and then get seated. The food selection from the menu is not diverse but it is very tasty. Everything we had was amazing! And the beer was cold. They do have restrooms and the service ( even though there is not actual service) people tending were nice. You can park on the streets.

The place is a nice bar. The food is a bit limited and no changes to the food rule is a bit too much. The crowd is a hit or miss though. Also at nights it gets too crowded. Easy parking is a plus in Santa Monica though.

We walked a few miles to get here and it was worth it! It's a unique layout where you get carded to get in and you place your order and pay at the bar. The service was fast and friendly. The burger was amazing. Best burger I've had! The bread was perfect and the meat fresh. Also try the sweet potato fries! I can't wait to come back!

Lovely place with outstanding service, cuisine and beer. I got the Arancini and the Spanish Mushrooms - both were wonderful.

Cozy, dark bar on Montana Ave known for its burger. Came here on a Sunday for dinner around 5:30 and they were already almost full capacity. Only 21 plus can enter and you need to show your ID to the doorman. You can grab menus at the front and grab whatever table or seat is available. You order both the food and drinks at the bar. They’ll give you the drinks immediately but they’ll give you a number for the food. You can also ask for water from the bartender and they have glasses of waters with lemons sitting behind them at the counter they’ll just hand to you. It took about 15 min for our food to come out. If you have a smaller appetite, I recommend splitting the office burger ($15) with a side of fries ($3.50). I like the burger done medium, although well-done is also a solid choice if you prefer your meat not red. No modifications can be made to any of the food and there’s no ketchup. However the sauce the fries come with is exceedingly tasty - it’s creamy and rich and complements the crisp saltiness of the fries so well. The burger comes with blue cheese, spinach, and an onion jam/chutney mix that incorporates sweet and salty all in one bite. The bun isn’t your typical burger bun either and might be too small to contain all the ingredients, but just roll with it. The ciders are really good and there’s a big beer menu. There is no table service and you’ll have to do everything yourself. When my dad spilled his beer onto my lap, the workers looked but kept moving about their business. We had to get more napkins ourselves at the bar. Parking is also a hit or miss depending on what time you go, and there’s no lot and you’re competing with patrons of the other stores/restaurants on Montana Ave. The music is pretty loud and it’s very dimly lit at night.
