I would say it’s one of the best Italian restaurants in Santa Monica, but it does have some issues. It’s really small and intimate on the inside, you feel like you are eating in someone’s house. It reminds me of a few restaurants that I ate in when I was in Italy last so it had a very authentic feel to me. I am also half Italian so I feel I know good and bad Italian food. The issue we had is that a lot of the items are overpriced. For example steak tartare is $48 and a simple grilled Branzino is $85. For these prices we all felt the food wasn’t special enough to justify the prices. They don’t have a parking lot but metered street parking is easy to find or your other best option would be their valet for $15. Our server was very polite and all of our items came out very quickly. They were a bit slow on the drink refills, but aside from that everything else was very fast.
I started off with the Filet Mignon Tartare and it was very good, although it didn’t have any spice to it so wish it had some mustard or horseradish to it because it felt a little dry to me. Also expensive for $48 which I don’t understand, but I did enjoy it. For my entree I chose the Bucatini with Lamb Ragu and it was fantastic. The portion was a bit small but it had really great and deep flavors. After I finished with the Chocolate Soufflé and it was A+. I truly loved it and would highly recommend ordering it.
Overall a nice dinner in a beautiful location although it is overpriced. I would recommend but the price points are really strange.
A nook and cranny in Santa Monica along the shoreline close enough to feel the sea mist and hear the waves crashing about the sand. A bewilderment of fire glazes the meat to a melting pot, melt in your mouth sensation warming guests hearts in the tiny room all the while accentuating the priceless artwork draped around the walls and windowsills. It’s more or less a hole-in-the-wall as far as restaurants go. Make no mistake about it though; the ratatouille had me in tears when I left. I could taste every aspect of the seasoning and it made me daydream about what they could be {thyme, oregano, fresh basil, marjoram, Himalayan salt, fresh ground pepper, so on and so forth} The people were decked out in fancy attire. The conversations elevated the mood into an invigorating atmosphere in close-quarters-is the menu item recommended, does it trouble you to serve two helpings of the dish, can the cuisine be prepared at a certain temperature with precise attention to crisping the edges? At the end of the day eye-catching silhouettes created a mesmerizing realm to find elements of the menu that jumped off the page to land in perfectly rationed fine dinnerware. A prime example of that was the crab cake. It was so crunchy on the perimeter yet buttery, soft, sweet, and zesty within each bite. It was a picture perfect segway and transition for the pasta. I ate every morsel as fast as possible and left abruptly as the dessert was being served. I wanted to make sure I tipped and excused myself for two reasons. I negotiated my way into a bar stool to accompany the patrons with a meal without a prior reservation. Also, I was so pleasantly satisfied with the meal that was outlined in the aforementioned menu. Furthermore, I had run a small tab, because I did not order any of the gem quality wines to taste. Rather, I had ginger soda and I desired to exit as whimsically as I had entered with the contingent notion that I would allow enough time for the scheduled party to take my place. All-in-all this Italian wrinkle in time gave me goosebumps.
It feels like walking through the door & being wisked on to a vacation far away. The art is fabulous. The ambiance is delightful. The staff was great. Then there is the food.... absolutely delicious! They bring a basket of breads to make anyone that still eats carbs in SM very happy - definitely "carb worthy". The Ditalini Rigate Amatriciana was so flavorful with perfectly crisped bacon. The Vitello Saltimbocca Capo was decadent is such a good way! It is very rich, which made it great for sharing. Between dinner & desert they served an assortment of cookies. The peanut butter one was my favorite. Then.... ohhhh the Chocolate Souffle worth each and every calorie of that fluffy, yummy cloud from heaven! We look forward to bringing friends & loved ones back to share it with.
Best service I’ve ever experienced in Los Angeles. Felt right at home the moment we were seated. My partner and I split 3 pastas. Conveniently separated and brought out one at a time. Wonderful.
너무 친절하고 프로패셔널 합니다. 너무 좋아요. Friendly, very professional - feel very welcome and amazing service with :) it was right place to be in / they even showing cook area, our family had really great time at Capo tonight :) thank you again ! All ! See u again soon.
We visited this place for breakfast on Friday morning. Short walk from JW Marriott. Wait was 10mins. We ordered omelettes and pancakes for kids. Great food. We ordered freshly squeezed Orange and grapefruit juices as well. We will be back for breakfast again.
The ravioli and blackberry crumble are great. Service was spectacular. Parking is an issue, so you have to use the valet.
Soo good I wanted to stuff myself like it was Thanksgiving dinner.. but we tried the margaritas and mimosas. With the Carnitas tacos with a order of Rice the meat had a little crunch to it which was epic definitely would recommend to anyone service was exceptional fast friendly
This Italian restaurant is a must go. Impeccable service. A cozy ambiance. The Rigatoni Tartufo Ragu may have been the best pasta dish I've ever had, and the Chocolate Soufflé is a must get. People, treat yourself to this wonderful establishment! 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽

extraordinary in every respect, including the out-of-this-world meal that is prepared and presented to patrons of the establishment. Our hostess' in-depth presentation of the surrounding area and her attentiveness throughout the meal were two aspects that really stood out to us. There was not a single aspect of the restaurant's food preparation that did not meet the most stringent criteria available.
Food was phenomenal! Our waiter Rob made the evening! Best birthday dinner!
Amazing/awesome professionalism, from the servers/staff to the cooks. I knew before going in what the price would be approximately thanks to Google so if you use this app the price shouldn’t be a shock as some reviews. Their wine list is the size of a small phone book! The one I chose still was the best tasting of the type I ever had before. Food was perfectly cooked and served. If I was a local I’d come here again! It was my wife’s 30th she had wanted Italian, Capo exceeded the expectations!
A true gem. An awesome wine list, excellent food in a perfect setting, and highly professional staff. One of the most expensive American restaurants I've ever been to, but worth every penny.
Great service that you’d expect from a swanky place. However, I’ve had many a chicken parm and this wasn’t worth the price tag north of $70.
Cocktails were fantastic, wine pairings with dinner were also great.
Great Italian spot with phenomenal service. Our waiter Hector was the picture of perfect service. (Thanks Hector!) The place has a nice, intimate ambiance. Ordered many dishes and most all were wonderful; one of them left a little to be desired and was immediately taken off the bill (to our surprise, it could’ve just been our preference)! Will definitely come back.
