Jinya was amazing and one of the best ramen shops I’ve ever had the pleasure of visiting! The menu is extensive, there are lots of traditional meat, vegetarian and vegan options, and the ramen bowls are huge! And everything is very well priced for the size and offerings. All 4 of us were very happy with our choices, and each of our dishes was full of flavor and complexity. Perhaps the best part was being able to read the owner’s story on the menu, which gave more depth to the love they put into the menu and service. We were at the Santa Monica location which had indoor dining and a huge outdoor/covered patio area with a large gas firepit. I highly recommend a visit to Jinya!
This spot is a must-visit for anyone who loves Asian cuisine and great ramen. With a wide variety of menu options, including vegetarian ramens, there is something for everyone.
The cozy seating by the fire pit adds to the experience, making it a perfect spot for a chilly weather.
Good ramen!
Excellent service. A friend who stays locally took us to this place. The food was mind blowing, the vibe was amazing siting outdoors in front of the fireplace.
We ordered chicken ramen and sake. Both were really good. The place is pretty big and popular.
The food was delicious! We got the impossible gyoza / Impossible mini tacos/ pork and braised impossible Jinya buns / Their Jinya chicken Ramen/ their new seasonal watermelon and cucumber refreshers and to finish off the night the Panna cotta. The food was top tier ! For an hour before closing they were delightful and the service was great , I gave a 4 star overall. We felt forgotten for a moment but understandably they were busy. Will be recommending and going back again myself :)
Very good looking but not good flavor food! Crispy chicken was a big size, but Ramon was suck. Hispanic chief cook Japanese food, what I suppose to say?. The service just left us in the front door and never came to check on us until I ask if we can come in. Then she ask if we come with another group of people. Not very smart service we are Chinese and others are India family how could we be a same group without communication?
I think I have never ever eaten such a good ramen! Especially a vegan one! I ordered an extra egg because ramen without egg is boring :) The service was super nice and as already mentioned the vegan ramen is super creamy and not too spicy! I can only recommend going there.
Absolutely delicious. The broth was perfectly seasoned, the pork was amazingly tender and flavorful and the egg was cooked just right. I wish I lived closer so I could try all of the options. Definitely stop by if you're in the neighborhood.
On a nice cool Sunday afternoon, there is nothing better then Jinya Ramen Bar on Main st. As a big fan of garlic, I went with Tonkotsu Black today. Add a little hot sauce, fresh garlic and couldn’t be happier.
Ambiance: This place is so cute, fire place outside was a cool feature. Inside, you can essentially see inside the kitchen. The tables are fairly close, but they work.
Service: Didn't have to wait too long for a Saturday night, waited a bit after seating, but after that, it was smooth sailing.
Food: I've never had ramen before this point, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I ordered the mild chicken ramen, but I should've gone with the spicy version. It wasn't bad at all, but I could've used the extra kick. Dumplings were really good, and I love that they have all the sauce on the table! Wasn't really a fan of the salad, though.
Street parking is 2 hours, so plan accordingly.
Right behind has public parking.
The food tasted GREAT! The egg for the ramen is perfectly soft centered just like in Japan. Try the tuna and salmon cones - they are so yummy! The cauliflower appetizer is decadent and tastes so good. Bao bun had the perfect steamed bread texture and was delicious.
Perfect ramen and atmosphere with fireplace outside. Ramen is served very fast, ideal for a quick bite and head to the beach.
I wish they had a portable post net brought to the table. Writing down the tip and adding up is old and inefficient. Specially confusing for tourists.
My friend and I showed up 15 mins before last call in the kitchen, and the staff happily took us. the food was amazing! I'd definitely visit again!
Great place walking distance from the beach and pier. Amazing service and food came out quickly. The kale salad was delicious with a honey mustard dressing. But the real goldmine was, of course, the ramen! It was flavorful and warmed the soul. Would highly recommend.
This place was amazing. Service impeccable, & the food was extremely tasty. Price point pretty decent. I do wish that they had a full bar but that's pretty much everywhere in this area, nothing to do with the restaurant directly.
We got a couple of different ramen as well as a few appetizers. Nothing dissapointed. Our server was fantastic. I'm sorry I forget her name. Very sweet, very genuine & her recommendations were on point.
When I'm back in the area you can be certain I'll be back.
Thanks for an amazing experience.
So many great vegan options! Sitting outside by the fire was divine! Mariana was a great waitress!
Excellent service and great ramen! You can’t go wrong with the black ramen. It’s not listed as spicy but there’s a bit of a kick. Didn’t bother me but you might feel it if you don’t like spicy food. The hot sake was super smooth. Definitely my new go to spot when in Santa Monica!
Food is good. A bit salty to me. However I think is a bit high.
