Staying at a Sta. Monica hotel at Christmas & hungry for a good pastrami, we located Fromin’s on google. I have found finding a great pastrami challenging.
I had no expectation to be honest.
Well, my son & I were quite pleasantly surprised. The pastrami was melt in my mouth yummy! Minimal fat, just enough for a tender & moist pastrami, and thinly sliced, but stacked.
The potato pancakes were so good. Well seasoned, and fried to a nice crunch.
My son had eggs Benedict he said were delicious!
The lady who seated us was so friendly & accommodating, as well as Maria our server, who was right on top of everything & it’s a busy place. The entire staff worked as a team and performed like a well oiled machine!
I can’t wait to come back!
Very welcoming staff, our waiter was considerate and of good advice, we spent a nice moment and the food was excellent. We had the Reuben corned beef sandwich as advised by our waiter and it was so gooood!! Will definitely be back.
Came for breakfast first visit. They food is excellent quality and taste. So much to choose from all sound so good. Took home some items from the deli too. Our server was so attentive I would come back based on that, but luckily the food is delicious. Visit if you want to enjoy a good meal.
Food, service, ambiance and parking was okay. Nothing special about this place. But descent enough to bring the whole family for lunch or dinner.
Hadn’t been here for years! And never a disappointment. So delicious and never rushed. Great portions.

Great atmosphere and delicious food. I always buy the corned beef with the chicken noodle soup. Very clean bathrooms, located to the back right of the restaurant. There is also food delivery service available. The only thing is the guy at the cash register is too slow working the cash register.
Good food. Very accommodating for our group of 12. Complete dinners are great deal. Large portions and I always have some to take home for lunch the next day.
I really needed some Matza Ball Soup today. Fromin’s knocked it out of the park. I want to thank everyone at Fromin’s, you guys go above and beyond.

SM diner with diner classics and old school vibes. Came here on a Saturday for lunch (indoor dining only, no outdoor options) around 1 and the place was buzzing. You get seated and then you pay at the hostess stand (your waiter will bring out your bill once you’re done eating). There’s a tight parking lot so you might need to find metered street parking on Wiltshire or go into one of the residential neighborhoods to park. They do have Groupon deals which you also need to show the hostess stand when you’re paying. The restaurant seemed to be able to accommodate several large groups as well as wheelchairs via their circular tables. Bathrooms are available in the back right hand side. The place is much bigger than you’d expect looking from the outside!
Split a pastrami sandwich and added fries on the side, which they just put on the same plate. They provide halved pickles and mustard on the side. The pastrami was hot and tasty, and the rye bread was hearty. The fries came out piping hot and condiments like ketchup are readily available at the table. Overall, it’s a good spot to grab some comfort food and to bring your family.
We have been coming to Fromin’s for decades. We are retired and go there much more often now. I have my favorite things to order. When we go for breakfast I always get the Reuben Omelette and substitute tomatoes and coleslaw for the toast and potatoes. At lunch I get the Pastrami Platter with all coleslaw. The matzo ball soup is very good with very tender matzo balls. I recently got the lox and bagel plate. Very high quality lox and the pumpernickel bagel was very fresh. The servers are excellent and the decor is perfect for a deli. The food is very good quality and skillfully prepared. I love that they have a parking lot.
Great local deli, big room with a lot of seating and ample parking front and back. Food is delicious, service is great. Cynthia Fromin herself rang me up at the end. Pictured is the hot turkey sandwich on egg bread, so yummy. Known for great breakfasts, too. Been coming here my whole life, never been disappointed.

They are open for inside dining! The menus are on a double sided laminated sheet in a very small font! They provide magnifiers, if needed! Hahaha!
The food! I had the salmon steak which comes with 2 sides. I chose the baked potato and coleslaw. It was very tasty! My husband ordered the grilled ham and cheese sandwich with coleslaw and fries. He said it was perfect and hit the spot!
The staff are VERY FRIENDLY and attentive! It is so nice to come back to Fromin's to sit inside! New upolstered fabric in the booths and new modern chandeliers!

I love Fromin's! I am so glad they survived the last two years of Covid. They are open for Dine In! The staff here are always so friendly and nice and they work really well as a team.
I love seeing Juan the server here, He is fairly new to Fromin's but I have known him for over 32 years when he was working as a server just down the street at the other Jewish Deli restaurant ( now closed). The staff all seem very loyal and seem happy to be working here. Bravo!
Today we came here for lunch and I ordered a soup and half a sandwich. The soup of the day was broccoli, which was yummy, but a but I added salt and pepper and a squeeze of lemon for my own taste. My half sandwich was chicken salad with toasted sourdough. It was stacked high! This comes with coleslaw and their coleslaw is really tasty. I also loved the slice of pickle too!
My husband ordered the ham sandwich with fries and coleslaw. He ate it all! He was hungry!
For simple deli, feel good food, Fromin's has it. Nothing fancy, but it's a place where you are greeted with a smile from the staff and the service is very attentive.
The prices are a bit high for deli food, but I don't mind supporting a local business. Our meal was around $50.00 .
The best deal is the dinner menu. Next time we will come back for dinner! Dinner is around $22.00 but you get a lot for that price, ( main course, 2 side dishes ) and usually I take home half for it's really two meals!
Relaxed is the atmosphere. Clear is the level of communication from wait staff. We had five in our party. Everyone enjoyed their dishes and the whole experience

I ordered the Hot Turkey Sandwich. It's an open faced sandwhich piled with Turkey slices and gravy. Its served with a side of mash and your choice of sides. I am very impressed with the service. I was sat down immediately during the lunch rush. 10min after ordering my food was being brought to me. Everyone is very friendly. The restaurant is very lively. I would definitely recommend coming here if you are in the area.

BEST MATZO BALL SOUP IN CALIFORNIA!
My go-to Jewish deli in LA - definitely prefer it overall, to the many others. There's truly nothing on the menu that I would not recommend. That said, for a few specific items, I might prefer a different deli for takeout - but for going there and eating there, no other del has the same wonderful atmosphere as Fromin's (which hasn't changed in the last 40 years).
Whenever I go, I feel like i'm at my own personal love temple, enjoying an atmosphere of peace, relaxation, and sweet human fellowship (and that holds true for me, even if there are screaming babies, and nasty peeps arguing, plus grouchy folks complaining - it's still my love temple, and I always feel like I'm having a worshipful experience).
I have no complaints, but i DO have a slight worry, as the prices keep inching up. Please Fromin's, don't price me out of being able to keep coming regularly.
There's another (more famous) Jewish deli which also has great food, but with significantly lower prices. I go there only to order takeout, because their atmosphere drives me nuts. So please! - Fromin's! - don't force me to eat over there, just because of price - ok? Please don't price me out of my beloved love temple!
Fairly basic diner/deli with pretty good food and service. You can eat quickly or take your time. Tasty bagels and potato pancakes.
