Great food, the fish and chips were so good! Deep fried cod fish (4 big pieces) that came with lots of beer battered crunchy pieces. Fish came with 3 awesome hush puppies and coleslaw (that my wife said was yummy) and skinny fries that were tasty. Apple the bartender gave great service and took care of all the tables and those at the bar. She was hustling for sure! Only thing keeping this place from five stars was the fact that they needed more help to speed things up, had to wait about 20 minutes for our food. Found this place on our last night or we would have went again. Got right in at 830 on a Friday night, was not busy at all. A decent crowd of locals came in for drinks around 9-930…seems like a great local spot.

Great food. My wife had the burger. It was basic, but very juicy. I had the shrimp birochette and it was great! We both also had a cup of gumbo. First time my wife has ever had gumbo and she loved it! I've lived in New Orleans before and I thought it was very good.

We were looking for an out of the way spot because Spring Break had everywhere just ridiculously busy and just happened upon this spot. Great food, nice atmosphere, full bar. Tim, the bartender/server was on point. Food was quick, hot and delicious. We will visit again.

We tried two other restaurants tonight with no luck. We stumbled upon this place and decided to give it a try. We should have just started here! Even with only one waitress and one cook, and a stuffed-full restaurant, we never went without drinks, the food was cooked to perfection, and our waitress had a smile on her face the whole time. This food was absolutely delicious. We enjoyed everything we ate. The mussels were tender, fresh, and flavorful, the catfish po-boy was golden fried and beautifully crispy. My mom, who is not a huge seafood eater, loved her fish and chips. My husband said the Korean barbecue beef was one of the best meals he’s ever had. And I loved the grouper and crab balls. This place is seriously understated.

Simple strip mall restaurant with outdoor seating. prices were good for this area,as was the food. Nothing worth making a special trip for, but if you want something good and are in the area,it's good for a quick bite. The shrimp was above average,and so was the burger. My only complaint was I asked for my burger to be medium, and it came well done. Minor issue.

We were recommended to eat here by locals. We are 30A regulars looking for a new spot and though we weren't sure about the strip mall atmosphere the food and service did not disappoint. Food was so very good and service was super friendly. We had the grouper sandwich, the grouper dinner, the fried shrimp the grilled shrimp and the shrimp po boy. All were delicious. The breading on the fried food was so light and non greasy. The hush Puppies were also perfect. Oh and we had the crab balls and shrimp wraps for an appetizer. We sat inside due to rain but their outside area looked very nice.

Awesome fried shrimp best I've ever eaten and blackened mahi my wife had was top notch. Friendly service and lightning fast food order. We also had the double chocolate cake that will feed two people and was dynamite! Not a cheap place but we felt it was well worth the money.

Excellent Food! We have been twice this week and everyone loves it. The crab balls are amazing, the fried pickels are great and a large portion. Then we had spicy pork San which and Korean beef and it was the best. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for great food on 98 in Santa Rosa beach.

This is meant to be a social, hole in the wall local hangout. And that's what it is. Incredible atmosphere, fairly priced alcohol, and a staff full of personality! If you're looking for somebody to bend over while you order them around this ain't it. If you're looking for great food, cold beer, and a fun place to go. You came to the right place.

Laid back Bar & Grill. Went very hungry with a party of 6 after being on the beach all day. We had burgers, hot wings and a grilled shrimp poboy. The burgers were very tasty! They came with Cole slaw and French fries. The shrimp poboy had good flavor and came with a delicious seasoned mayo spread. The poboy bread was a crusty French bread, like a real poboy is supposed to have. It could have had more shrimp. The wings are fried, then tossed in a sauce that was really good! Next when we come back to camp, we'll definitely be back!

Food was okay. Grilled mahi mahi had excellent taste. Etouffe was missing some flavor. Most everything on the menu is fried. Not my favorite way to enjoy seafood.

Great oysters, etc.. If you don't know where this place is, you'd probably pass right by it. I tried it this past weekend on the rec from a friend who lives in the area. Very good food in a cool, relaxed atmosphere. We actually ate there twice. I had oysters both times and they were very fresh and plump. Fantastic. Also had the thai wings (ordered them HOT) which were outstanding - had a slightly sweet curry flavor to them and plenty of red pepper. Will definitely order those again. The lumpia is very good - lightly fried and served with sweet and sour. My son had a burger once, and jumbo fried shrimp the second time. Both were good (shrimp were huge). The last thing I ate was a blackened grouper sandwich, which was great.<br/><br/>Overall, very good food and a cool place, which also has a pool table. Also, they do take credit cards now (5/3/15).

Visiting for spring break . Went on a Monday evening , place was very quite but food was very good. Steamboat burger was juicy and flavorful and bun was toasted perfectly . They are a cash only establishment but they do have a ATM on site

Not good, service isn't the best food is not good and actually over priced for the quality. The AC seems to not work or if it does its not very well. Also I've been there in the past and all the sudden they don't take credit cards now? Two thumps down for me and I grew up in this area my whole life.

Fantastic gumbo. This was our first visit to Steamboat Bar and Grill. I was a little unsure about it at first and like a previous reviewer stated, you do seat yourself. However we were greeted and served in a timely manner. The gumbo was fantastic. Our party also had the grouper sandwich both fried and grilled and both loved them. I had the shrimp that was wrapped in bacon and stuffed with jalapeno and cheese with the sauteed vegetables and it was good also. Not much for the decor, but the food was good.

Larry Ray. We have been to the Destin area many times and have never stopped at the Steamboat. I was here in September and did stop in. I was very glad I did. The food was absolutely wonderful! The lady who waited on us was very nice and presented great service. We are currently in Destin and are heading to the Steamboat. Cannot wait! YUM!

Best little seafood place in the Destin area!. Located in a strip mall in Santa Rosa Beach...this was a big surprise when we stumbled on to this place. We were the only ones seated in the place...plus a couple people at the bar....As a table of 4 was leaving we asked for menu suggestions. They said really anything was good here....and they were right! We ordered catfish (EXCELLENT!); Burgers (great!) popcorn shrimp (good)...but by far the best item was the Mahi Mahi! I've never had fish so good! We will definitely be back next time we are in the area! (Prices: about like any other place in the area... $10 - $16 per person)

We waited 5 min for someone to tell us to seat ourselves and then 5 more min waiting on menus and an actual waiter to greet us. No one approached us after 10 min so we left. Never going back.

Been passing this place for three years and finally decided to stop in with my wife. Neighborhood bar atmosphere. Domestic bottles were two bucks on happy hour. Had wings and lumpia for apps. They were really good. We had burgers for mains and they were great and cooked to order. Service was excellent. Check this place out!

Great Prices, Consistently Good Food. This place has an eclectic menu, and surprisingly good food for such a strip mall/bar atmosphere. We've even there over a dozen times, traveling between Panama City and FWB. It's always busy, full of locals and families, and I've never had anything that wasn't really good. It might not be hip enough for tourists, but if you find yourself facing a two hour wait at one of the crowded touristy places, you might ought to head to Steamboat for an appetizer or quick bite and hit the tonier places later in the evening.
