This place was amazing. First time there and definitely not my last. I sat at the bar and Dante the owners son took car of me. He was very friendly warming and welcoming. The service was great as well. Please go and try this wonderful spot. Old school Italian hospitality at its best. Oh and the food was amazing. Best tomato basil soup I've ever had. Desserts all made by Dante's mothers which are to die for �
As always, we had a great dinner at Trattoria Cattaneo. Even though it was New Years Eve, the menu was diverse, the portions generous, and the food preparation magnificent! In enjoyed grilled salmon and my wife sampled the lasagna and had plenty to take home for later. Service was efficient and friendly, and there was never a sense of hurry despite the holiday. I can't recommend the restaurant highly enough -- I'd give it a six out of five stars. . .

A superb Italian restaurant and authentic through and through. The owner and his chef wife go beyond good and friendly service. The food is some of the very best of Italian fare. And I include Italian Restaurants in food towns such as S.F. and NYC. Go there and enjoy great food, fun, outstanding service and great Chianti!
Another excellent meal ! Truly one of the best restaurants in Santa Rosa tucked away in Bennett Valley. I enjoy the comfort of this cozy establishment. Everything is homemade and a joy to savor ! Excellent service !
The service was top notch and the food so delicious! It was my first time there and I could hear the crowd when we got out of the car. It was a full house and everyone in fine spirits. The crab cakes and bread were so good but the bruschetta was truly amazing! Chicken parmigiana was delicious and we took tiramisu to go which my daughter and I shared this morning. Best ever. Two thumbs up!
Italian is my very favorite of all cuisines and I'm very particular about the marinara sauce when I go out to eat. I found the sauce to be outstanding their pasta perfectly cooked and their service was excellent !! I'm from Sacramento and I would definitely drive down here to have dinner again.
Food was delicious! Our waiter was awesome! And after all was said and done we even got a complimentary glass of dessert wine! Prices good, atmosphere good, nothing negative to say! We will go back.
Great food and great service. We moved from the area four years ago. We recently came back to Santa Rosa for a weekend getaway. Our first stop was here. Not to be disappointed. Yum yum. It's our favorite place to eat.
Excellent service and outstanding food. I highly recommend it! Took a friend there for a birthday lunch. First visit for both of us. Can't wait to go back!

Amazing experience eating at Trattoria Cattaneo. One of my friends wanted some great Italian food so I took a drive from Emeryville. Everything was excellent and the portions were large. I can eat quite a bit and I had to have a box to go! Riccardo Cattaneo was a great host and I will definitely be back!
They made a brown butter pancetta carbonara around six years ago that has never left my mind. The best dish I have ever had that absolutely know else has made or attempted. You have officially ruined me. Genius I tell you!
Came here after being turned away at another Italian restaurant near downtown that was simply packed. Glad we came here as the ambiance was much more laid back and the food was excellent. Portions are large, but not unwieldy. The bread served with the meal is fantastic and easy to snack on. The desserts are a must have, the tiramisu some of the best I've ever had and the affogato perfect. Definitely will come back here if in the area again.

Fine Italian dining for sure. The atmosphere is good for Romantic Dinners on date night or for bringing the entire family. We have a 2 and 4 yo and the folks here always make us all feel like family. Best spaghetti I've ever had and both my kids ate their food which is unheard of. So props to the chef! I will be returning.
This reminds me of an Italian Cheers bar. Excellent food on plastic plates. Very good local wine. My only issue is they need to imp their bread. It's important to me and this was average at best.
This is a traditional, small, local Italian restaurant. It serves all the classic dishes and has a down-to-earth atmosphere. We were approached by the manager during our meal and he asked us how were doing. The waiter was humourous and quick. Their selection of wine and dishes was what you would expect from this type of place.
The food was quite good but the gnocchi was incredibly soft. The lack of a fifth star goes for the noise. Thankfully, we sat outside. Otherwise we would have had a hard time speaking inside. The noise contributes to the Italian ambiance, but their is a point where it is too loud. Just call during dinner hours and you'll understand. The guy in the other end had to step outside to talk to me.
what a lovely & excellent place for dinner! Small cozy family run restaurant. Food was awesome, service excellent, seated by owner, hugs & handshakes as we went out the door. Enough Ciopino leftover for dinner for 2 the next day. I ate all of the linguini Vongole (clam) . Never had anything as good as this before!
Very good food and salad. Chicken was very fresh and all of the Italian dishes were delectable very tasty and home cooked feel not greasy. Customer service was even better the man was super nice made sure our table was good kept refilling our drinks etc. He took care of us for sure and blessed us with the good food. RECOMMENDED HIGHLY🔥🙏
