I was looking for some authentic Mexican food, and let me tell you, this place did not disappoint. My grandfather had the asada plate, and I had the chicken and shrimp fajitas. Oh, and the chili relleno was so delicious as well. Local family owned restaurant. The service was great! The food was great! Father Jose and son Joseph were great!
Three of us for lunch. I was very pleased except our plates came at different times rather that together.
I really loved the red sauce for the enchiladas.
Food was absolutely fantastic. We ordered the Chili Rellenos plate and a Combo plate with a Pork Tamale and Al Pastor Enchiladas and everything was full of flavor and well-balanced. Their Mexican rice was probably the best I have had in a long time with the perfect blend of spices.
Servers were quick, attentive, and knowledgeable about their food and options.
We will 100% be back again soon!!!!!
Went there yesterday for my future mother in laws birthday. I had the 2 enchilada combo and it was perfect. The blackberry margarita and raspberry drop were tasty. Overall all 6 of us enjoyed the amazing service and food. Highly recommend over Chevys any day of the week!!
Great selection of traditional Mexican dishes. The place is cozy inside but will hold a few tables for you if you have a larger group. I did not care for the mango margarita which came with Tajine spice in the drink as well as the rim, which I didn’t ask for. Plus $10.50 is overpriced for the small highball sized glass it was served in.
Very good food. Small dining room when outdoor seating is closed. Best to go week nights when looking for a tasty dinner.
Food is delicious! I ordered the steak and shrimps fajitas.. and a flan as a dessert.. they’re so yummy ..

This place is a diamond, fantastic people and yummy fantastic food. We are here for a job and once we tried this place we knew it was going to be a favorite. Now let me tell you it isn’t just one of but our only favorited place we’ve been to since we’ve been here.
The first night we came and it was so busy and yet the food, service and drinks didn’t change at all. Best place to eat wonderful food, and have pleasant service. Never bad anything so far. I ordered the chili rellano plate with a side of sour cream pictured above and my husband had the steak ranchero. Thank you for the best Sabor a Mexico.
Family owned restaurant, always very friendly, very appreciate workers. The food is pretty good and worth it. Hard to find these days.

We had a late lunch (3pm) at Sabor A Mexico today, in our continued quest for a decent Mexican restaurant in Elk Grove. I am giving Sabor four stars because of all the Mexican restaurants we've eaten, in "the Grove," this has been the best. The restaurant was clean, the service friendly and fast- but consider the time we were dining because I've heard they can get busy and a wait isn't unheard of for this somewhat small dining area. We started with Guacamole. The portion was a good size (though they use skimpy little bowls for their chips) and it was fine; in our opinion it needed seasoning- had a good amount that we ended up taking home, and the addition of garlic and a bit if salt improved the taste. My husband enjoyed the Chimichanga with shredded beef. I thought they could have been a bit more generous with the rice and beans on his plate. I forgot to take photos of the entrees. I had the Taco Salad, also with shredded beef, and found it passable, but not particularly pleasing to the eye. They could stand a little work on their presentation and the food temperature definitely could have been warmer. We will be going back again. Next time we'll order different items, and hope we're as satisfied as we were today.
Best birria tacos I have ever had. So juicy and the tortillas were perfect. The margaritas were tasty too. Also, the service was great.
Took grandpa here for his birthday and everything was amazing! Food was delicious, and fresh. Sincerely sabor a Mexico! Service was friendly, kind, efficient, and very prompt! Atmosphere was enjoyable, not too loud so conversations were enjoyed! Good flow of guests and well managed. First time coming and will make this a regular destination! Thank y’all for the amazing experience! Wish we would’ve taken pix but everything was soooo good we didn’t think twice about enjoying things in the moment!

Easy to find, plenty of parking spaces, family owned Mexican restaurant that offers alcoholic beverages along with simple and delicious menu items. The restaurant is little small However the meals are amazing. Definitely recommend this restaurant
Such good Mexican food! Sometimes the fajitas are too hot and it burns the food though, if they lowered the temp on the metal it would be 5 stars. Margaritas are delicious too! & love the music & the outdoor seating!
