The best selection, the best of all the Santa Rosa Safeway stores with the most magnificent deli, gourmet Chinese noodles, Asian dishes, dim sum with spring rolls, their famous Taco Salad, which we could eat every day. There aisles and ice cream selections have Latino, Asian, a massive selection of Mexican, Italian, and their flower shop is the most colorful and approachable in Sonoma Wine Country, California. I drive from Missouri and Nebraska. The first store I shop at in California is this Safeway store, especially for the Taco Salad, Shrimp Seafood Salad, and Chinese dishes with their spicy Kung POW Chicken. Delicious! We spoil our children by buying the highest quality freshness at this Safeway store.
One of my favorite go to Safeways. It’s just simply beautiful and amazing. Safeway is and always will be my favorite grocery store. Also the employees are simply so sweet and kind it makes me want to cry 😢♥️😭😂

Good hot & cold case, good Chinese. I like using the app & finding better deals than avail in the store, clip my coupons & then shop🙂 Today found a cute stuffed animal that unzips with a super soft blanket in it for our little one. She loves it! We love the specialty grapes🤤 self ck outs move fast, friendly staff.
Clean store, good produce, one of the best Safeways in the area. Helpful and friendly staff too! Rare 5 star rating from me. Excellent job to this Safeway!
This is the best Safeway I have ever been to, and it has replaced Raley's as my primary grocery store. The reason why this Safeway is so much better than average is because the Safeway company wisely retained many of the beloved attributes that made G&G special. The family-owned store previously at that location. Try the Chinese food. You'll know what I'm talking about 😉
It's a pretty good Safeway. It's clean and the parking isn't bad. If you look at the Flyers and sign up for their card you can download their deals to your phone. I'm most the only go there for the $5 Friday specials.
The most sublime Safeway ever. It's huge and has almost everything. Try the Chinese food and the bulk bins. The Latino and Asia selection is great 👍😃
What can I say. I shop at the Safeway in Santa Rosa on college avenue. It is okay. It is clean and well cared for. I don’t think it is the best at any particular thing. Over the last year I have noticed a slow decline in the number of premium products in the dairy area. In general you get a good value and a wide variety of products to choose from. I am not a fan of the self check out. The parking lot layout is pretty bad.
We call this place " GWay" in honor of G&G.
Great deli, but I miss the old G...*sigh*...I guess the more things change, the more they change.
Anyhoo, is still like a combination of GWay and Safeway which I think is pretty cool, but just please open 24 hours. Thank You.
The Safeway on College Avenue cannot be beat with its variety of products. It is unique in the Safeway chain of stores with its array of products that are in the tradition of the Gong family. The staff is very friendly, the hot Chinese food is excellent, the bouquets of flowers are beautiful, and the deli has great sandwiches with quality meats that have always been at this location for years. Come here to get the exact type of product you are looking for.
The only disappointment on my last visit was that there wasn't enough fresh fruit and veggies on hand and a lot was either spoiled or on the verge of spoiling like the tomatoes, celery, and cucumbers, head of lettuce to name a few.

It’s still G&G. I went up on the hill and got the Krab salad at Lucky and almost threw up. Don’t bother with the competition. This is the ONLY place in town to get GG Krab Salad. They still have all the G&G stuff and they’ve been Safeway for a long time. I drive across town to shop at this one. Still the best supermarket in town.
