We go to Bijou Cafe for Valentine’s Day. We have gone at other times as well, but, it is our special Valentine’s place. It is upscale yet warm and welcoming. The menu is wonderful with a French flair. They usually have specials as well. The food is prepared to perfection and the presentation is beautiful. The service is excellent. I had a short rib, which was a special. It was so tender it just flaked off the bone. The sauce was superb. On the side were asparagus with the crunch still in them! My husband got his favorite the rack of lamb. We have never been disappointed by any selections. Their duck is also one of their popular dishes and is delicious as well. We would highly recommend Bijou Cafe as it is in our opinion one of the best restaurants in Sarasota.
Since joining the kitchen staff I've enjoyed every day working here. I can gaurentee that all the produce is fresh and local, the meat and fish are always the best cuts we can get our hands on. The desserts are the most delicious I've ever had and are my favorite to make. At the Bijou there's great food and friendly hospitality. Whether you want to have lunch or dinner, reserve a party or come in for happy hour: there's no better place to dine in Sarasota than the Bijou Cafe.
I have never been disappointed when dining at the Bijou. The service, food and ambience are all top-notch. I would highly recommend the Bijou to anyone. It is dining at its finest.
One could never ever go wrong in choosing The Bijou Cafe for lunch, Dinner or private parties!... I have been coming to this establishment for more than thirty years and have never ever been disappointed!... The staff are friendly and helpful and the Chef so creative and inspiring with his menu, the food simply delicious!... I too love the Gossip Lounge at the bar, great smaller bites to eat and delicious drinks!... See you there!...
The Bijou Café provides the finest dining in the Sarasota area. The staff is attentive to your needs and the service is excellent. I constantly recommend the Bijou Café as a fine dining experience to clients and friends.
We had dinner here for the first time and brought our tiny poodle (Olive) to celebrate her 3rd birthday. We sat on their dog friendly patio and had shade and they brought her a bowl of water. My husband had the shrimp and scallops and I had their salmon. Both were very delicious. My dessert was some type of moon pie dessert and was awesome! We ordered some chicken for Olive. Our waiter Diego was very friendly and attentive. They even brought out my dessert with a candle on it for Olive’s birthday celebration. So kind. Every staff member that interacted with us was very good and we had a very enjoyable evening.
First time here and highly recommend adding this place to your 'must eat at' list. Food was delicious, staff was kind and very attentive, and decor was cute/upscale. Went for girls night with a few friends and we did the Savor Sarasota menu (which is really a steal for $40 you get a starter, an entrée, and a dessert). We each got a different starter from the savor Sarasota choices menu, and all tried both dessert options. I absolutely loved the homemade pasta with guanciale and pecorino romano.
Everyone at Bijou went above and beyond for my girlfriend on her birthday. The food was amazing and perfectly cooked. They made us seem like the most important table in the place. We had a 8pm reservation and they close at 9pm, not once did we ever feel rushed. Each Bijou employee seemed to truly care about us and making my girlfriends birthday dinner a memorable once. Mission accomplished. We can't thank you enough. 5 stars.
Very nice and elegant restaurant. Our waiter was super. My wife enjoyed the fillet while I had the ciopino. We both like the pate appetizer of which we received a large portion but the mozzarella schnitzel was so so. The highlight was the hummingbird cake desert which we strongly recommend. Only negative was that the happy hour drinks were only valid at the bar 😞
Food was great, love the calm atmosphere and the kind attentive servers. Free complementary valet parking.
I first discovered this incredible restaurant while exploring Sarasota almost ten years ago. The ambiance, food and service are superb! Very crisp service and comfortable tables and chairs spaced for a wonderful dining experience. This visit (see photos) I first selected the Lobster Bisque with Parmesan-Polenta Medallion. Exquisite! Next the Spinach Salad with Pistachios, Gouda Cheese, Radish, and Raspberry Vinaigrette. Delicious! Then the Crab Stuffed Onion Ring with Smoked Paprika Aioli and Frisee Salad. Wonderful! Followed by the Seared Scallops over Blackberry Coulis with Glazed Carrots and Goat Cheese Polenta. Sublime! And finally the Coconut Cream Macaron - Vanilla Macaron Cookie with Salted Caramel, Raspberry Coulis and Coconut Diplomat Cream. To die for!

I had the Garlic cesar and it was just absolutely fabulous. Best cesar ive ever had, tossed in the dressing just right and hearts of romaine.
I also had a grilled chicken with carrots 🥕 and green beans- aas fantastic and just right.
Don the GM was a true GM, great customer service gives the customer what they want.
Ill be back often you have a new fan for Bijou ill travel from saint pete to eat here any day!
It was quite a treat to see and have service provided by our friend Thomas. As usual, great drinks and wonderful dinners. I would love to have the apple cinnamon faro salad recipe. That complemented the crispy duck perfectly. Until next time!!
Excellent food, amazing first class service! I had the escargot for and starter and the duck as a main, it was delicious. The creme brûlée for dessert was the best I have ever had!
Pastry chefs like this are really hard to find. The espresso martini is as good as they get too. I can't wait to return for full dinner. This restaurant group is seriously legit and what hits differently for me, with many years in Hospitality leadership, is seeing and hearing the team deliver great service and speak highly of one another internally and of sister properties.
