Went for the first time Saturday evening 6-23-18 along with some friends. Had a reservation for 7pm so we could have dinner just before the band started. Food was excellent. I had the bacon wrapped meatloaf, truffle mashed potatoes and green beans. My wife had the samon and risotto rice. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Our server Randal was friendly and very attentive. He never allowed our glasses to reach empty and checked on us frequently. Once the Lisa Ridings Band started at 8 we hung out and had some adult beverages. I had the Irish coffee with Baileys and Jameson and my wife had margaritas. Both top shelf. Music was great. The outside dining atmosphere and staff were excellent. Will definitely be back.

Food and service were excellent. I had the Grouper sandwich and it was nice and crispy, nice sized portion and delish. Loved their Fries as well. All in all it was a very nice relaxing experience with great food. Would def recommend and visit again!

We come here every year or at least try to the food is amazing and the wait staff is also great they usually have good bands or at least every time I've been there so I guess what I'm saying is go try the food and judge it for yourself. you will not be disappointed

Mattison's City Grill is a lively place to be on a Friday evening with live music and good food. The food was well prepared and flavorful. Our server was friendly and attentive. My only complaint is being seated very close to a large fan when other tables the same size but not too close to the fan were unoccupied. It was hard to eat with my hair blowing in my face and napkins blowing off the table.

Very pleasant place. Outdoors seatings. Good beer selection. Vegetarian friendly. Excellent sea food. Robin the waitress was outstanding. Thank you. Great ambience and a nice place for people watching. Must place to go if you are in Sarasota.

We happened to visit on a Thursday, when the Aloha Sharks were playing live music and I absolutely loved the atmosphere, even if the music was too loud to talk to my date. I had the salmon and it was amazing!

We came to this beautiful, shaded, outdoor, and cooled restaurant on 4/14/23. What stunning surroundings. Appetizer was Artichoke Esther - we highly recommend. Dinner included Gumbo and Grouper Picatta. Both absolutely delicious. We completed our meal with the VERY BEST Key Lime pie. Thank you for a wonderful meal. We would like to give a shoutout to Neli, a very personable, respectful and professional waitress.

This local downtown favorite has great prices and the lunch meals are delicious. I had cream of artichoke soup and turkey Reuben both were yummy. My husband loved his burger and truffle fries. He especially loved his Bloody Mary! Anita our server was very nice and the manager checked on us several times. They have great Covid protections even checking out temperatures before seating!

You can never go wrong with eating downtown. This place was filled with great vibes from the band that was playing. The server had a great attitude with our large party, she was awesome! I ordered crabcakes my family order pizzas and everything was absolutely delicious. The bathrooms were clean, and we actually caught a happy hour five minutes before it ended which was absolutely wonderful! The area is also beautiful as it sits right off the Manatee River. You may also want to think about bringing back spray as sitting outdoors you can’t easily get bitten. I believe this place has live music quite often as you may want to check the website for more details. I highly recommend this place!

Been wanting to try this spot for a bit, so finally did it! I love the location of Mattison's, right in the midst of everything and it looks so good at night, along with downtown Sarasota in general. The place was "jumping" and fairly packed, so we took that as an endorsement for the quality. Immediately seated, it was only a couple minutes before a server came and took our drink orders. Having never been there before, we had to figure out on our own that you had to scan a QR code and bring up the menu on your phone. That isnt ideal with the glaring lights from the restaurant playing against the streetlights and shadows, trying to read small print on a phone screen. But we managed. Another server was seating her table and promptly explained to them the process and OFFERED real menus as an alternative. That would have been appreciated. We finally figured out our food order and our server showed up in a timely manner. The food didn't take long to come out even though it was quite busy by this time. The food did not disappoint! Everything we ordered was delicious and cooked excellently! Presentation was spot on. Over all a nice night out for us and a great date night dinner. I think our server was a little distracted. He wasn't "bad" per se, but things like refreshing our drinks, clearing dishes, bringing our check were either handled by others, didn't happen at all (refreshing our drinks), or took longer than it should. None of that will stop us from recommending this spot or returning though. Pro tips - They have live music! But it starts later in the evening so if you want to check it out, call them to find out when it starts and plan accordingly. Also I saw in a recent review that they didn't allow dogs "inside" anymore? Well there were 2 dogs at tables right next to us the whole time and no employees seemed to mind. Which is as it should be in an open air spot. Enjoy!
