The food was wonderful!!! Large coffees in a regular coffee mug, Amish bacon, homemade everything from biscuits and gravy to the apple butter and strawberry jam! Food takes a bit longer but remember it's homemade and well worth it! I highly recommend it!

I can say this is my favorite place to eat. It's always fast service and great food. And everyone is so friendly. I have been going there so long they know my order. I would recommend everyone to try this restaurant. You will love it. I know I do!!

Always great. The food is delicious and hot. The service is always with a smile. My family and I eat here at least once a week. It's the only real diner in the area. No matter what you order you will be pleased. My only suggestion is to expand to make more room for seating. If you do have to wait for a seat, the food is at least worth it!

Crager's is a landmark restrauant, rightfully so, for many years past and in the future, they have and will continue to offer great food and a great staff with a clean place to eat.
Had a senior breakfast. The food portions were just right and the eggs were hot. A rarity in many places. Best red raspberry jam. Waiter was attentive without overly being so . Would recommend to all snowbirds coming down for the winter
We loved it, very good pot roast with mashed potatoes and gravy. Real good home comfort food. Our server was very sweet, polite and attentive. Will be back again.

I stopped in for lunch and was greeted as soon as I entered the door 🚪!!! Also service was great . The waitress was on top of her game!! I will be back very soon for dinner!! I love some down home cooking!!

GREAT PLACE FOR BREAKFAST WHEN THEY ARE OPEN. Too bad they are not a real 24/7 Diner but Sarasota and Manatee County's Older population does not allow for most things open after 10 PM.

It was ok. We stopped in for breakfast. I had the Amish Bacon, a dish with 3 strips of thick sliced bacon, a couple of eggs, and I selected hash browns and toast. Eggs are eggs, cooked close enough to over easy. I liked the bacon, not anywhere close to crispy and was lean and quite tasty. The hash browns were bad, the shredded style cooked in a circle form, a bad product cooked with a bad oil.
I was concerned bacon and eggs offered for a nice low price was not going to be enough for the hungry me this morning, so I also got a short stack of pancakes. My concern was valid and the pancakes were good.
My first impression of the restaurant was not very good. It could use a makeover. I would not go so far as to say it was not clean but the old booths and dark wood, and the dark pink paint did not convey a clean inviting message. Seating consists of 5 stools along a lunch counter and lots of booths.
It was busy during our visit but there was no wait. That may be due more for the location than the food, there is not much else in the immediate area. Service was ok. It did take 15 minutes between placing our order and receiving our food, a little longer than I would have expected.
Excellent for Breakfast! Haven't tried lunch or dinner.
Perfect biscuits! Great traditional diner with easy prices. FYI for my fellow newspaper-with-breakfast eaters: bring your own paper or hope someone has left one at the restaurant. There is no paper box.
Cragers is a jewel. Cragers is a refreshing change from the chain food restaurants in the area. The service is top notch, the food is excellent, the portions are large, and prices are very reasonable. The restaurant is clean and neat, the staff is friendly and attentive. This is a must try for anyone looking for a homestyle meal and the convienence of not cleaning the kitchen.
Great Diner. Crager's is a great traditional diner, which can be a diamond in the rough for this area. The facility is clean, if not a bit out-dated, but that can often be the charm. Prices are fair, portions are large, and all your favorites are available for breakfast through dinner. A nice alternative to the large franchise diners.
Stopped for a late breakfast and just wanted a basic bacon and eggs. No problem, a la cart. Very reasonably priced. Also, I wanted hash browns crispy and eggs over easy. Got it all the way I ordered it. Kept coffee cup full! Go!

I personally enjoy these small home cooking type diners. Nothing glitzy or flashy. Simple yet comforting. The coffee is strong which I prefer. The waitress offered excellent suggestions and was attentive. The atmosphere was relaxed during the breakfast hours which made the dining experience a positive one. The egg, ham, and cheese on an English muffin was plenty filling and the hash browns were fried just right. I will definitely be coming back to Crager's Restaurant. Update: Angel is an amazing server. She is friendly, outgoing, and exceptional with assisting on menu choices.
You can't feel more welcomed when you walk in the door! Everyone is super nice, even when super busy. The menu has nice variety and it's always nice to have a breakfast option all day. Everything we had on our last visit was excellent. Angel took great care of us!

Nice little diner. food is excellent, Services is fast, plenty of parking, everything is handicap accessible, tables are clean and sanitized between customers. they do run various specials. I believe that they are primarily breakfast and lunch at this time so you would need to check.

We were here for breakfast. We were seated immediately and service was prompt and efficient. The food came out quickly and was exactly as expected. Like everything, the prices have crept up, but it still seemed like a good value. Restaurant was clean .
This was the first time we were able to stop and eat here. Our server was wonderful, the food was very delicious and we were not rushed. If we are in the area again, we will stop and dine.

Great cozy place to get some amazing southern home cooking! I had the southern fried chicken and my wife had the reds killer meatloaf and we both loved the food. We are both from southern Indiana so we know great fried chicken when we taste it! If you're looking for a great home cooked meal this is the place, the staff is super friendly and the prices will fit anyone on a budget. We look forward to coming back and trying the breakfast menu. As a bonus you can get breakfast 24/7.
