no other coffee, pastry shop is as marvelous as the clever cup coffee shop. I go once week and never miss my Tuesdays at the shop...…..always buy different drinks and unique pastries I cant get anywhere else in south Sarasota. go!!!!!!

So, today I was walking Gulf Gate looking for a shop that could make me a milk shake, the heat ugh!! I walked in here in hopes of finding such. I did not unfortunately BUT!! I ended up ordering anyway. I got the caramel iced latte which was AMAZING!! I also happened to see the muffins on display and chose a blueberry one, my favorite kind of muffin. It happened to be BY FAR the BEST blueberry muffin I have EVER HAD!! PERFECTLY cooked, fluffy with blueberrys that were plentiful and so fresh to taste in the muffin. It wasnt too sweet but countered with the crunchy sugar crystals sprinkled on top, heaven!! It really was amazing!! Thank you!! Very happy to find my new favorite coffee shop!!
I discovered this place this morning. Great service, environment, coffee, and sweets. Will make this a new hangout.
The Clever Cup is an excellent small business in Sarasota's Gulf Gate Area - it's worth the extra drive from your normal coffee shop.
It's a funky fun eclectic place to have a coffee or matcha latte and muffin or sandwich. They are very personable with their customers. Love going there.
Today was my first visit to Clever. I tried the Raspberry Mocha Latte, it was delicious! I really liked the art by local artists hanging on the walls, supporting local artists. The coffee shop is set up so quant and darling and my coffee � was excellent, I will be back.
Decided to try a local coffee house on a rainy Sunday. Wanted to avoid the usual chains. We weren’t disappointed. Coffee was good, girl who served us was very friendly, although I think a little overworked doing everything on her own. The place was busy and pleasantly full. Very nice selection of sweet treats even an hour before closing.

This place is awesome...very artist friendly. I met a client here to do some Henna on him. He got a coffee and I got an iced chai and a raspberry oatmeal bar. Everything was outstanding. Can't wait to go back. One of the owners, who does coffee portraits, stopped to chat...lovely person.
Delicious coffee. They offer non-dairy milks and two vegan bakery items. The staff is friendly and accommodating. It's become my regular spot :)

My coffee was very very good.
My breakfast sandwich was cold in the middle though. And we eventually left when my friend didn't get his cinnamon roll after asking multiple times.

Super cute shop with excellent variety of coffees and gourmet pastries. Absolutely loved the pumpkin cheesecake muffin (gluten free and vegan!) My pumpkin latte was perfrct with oat milk. Roomy seating, games shelf for anyone, nice coffee bar. The parking is tight but worth it!
I absolutely love the coffee here, I am very picky about my coffee I like it strong. I usually drink black coffee. I enjoyed the latte but wanted a darker drink I asked the batista and he recommended the iced coffee. It was perfect, nice and dark and full bodieded. I like to sit at a coffee shop and read my books and this place is perfect for that. It has a nice peaceful environment and a cool coffee house vibe. I have enjoyed the raspberry oat bar. I will become a regular here, love the vibe and the customer service is great.
Coffee was great. I must mention the bathroom. In the bathroom they have made the Lou pleasant to use. They decorated the door intricately and even supply feminine products. I think there could be some more light fare to choose from to go with the beverages.
Our family has a place in Siesta Key, so we are not local but we come here often. Every time we visit, I try to find a new local gem to support! I was in search of a delicious coffee that wasn’t Starbucks after a morning trip to the grocery store and I stumbled upon The Clever Cup! I ordered the Johanna latte as suggested by the barista, a cold brew for my husband and the oat bar. I have to say that the Johanna Latte was the perfect blend of coconut and honey and is now one of my favorites. I am so sad that I will not have it easily accessible back home! The oat bar was also ooey gooey and delicious! I will definitely be frequenting this place every time we come to Siesta Key!
My husband and I took a “Coffee Watercolor” class here. It was the first time we had been here is it was AMAZING! Probably the best mocha and cappuccino we have had in a LONG time and the Ginger Cookie was incredibly delicious….. Everyone was so nice and the class was SO fun!! 10/10!!!

Ordered a honey comb latte which had honey and caramel.....really good. My husband ordered the hibiscus iced tea and it was also flavorful and refreshing.
We also ordered two breakfast croissants. The spinach and ricotta was soooooo good. The turkey and cheese was good too but could have a few more minutes in the warmer. Still, we ate it all.
Primarily indoor seating available. One table outside. Definitely a nice ambience all around. Will return!

Excellent home town feel coffee shop. Very good place to relax enjoy coffee talk. Nice furniture clean atmosphere. They also have sandwiches you can order. Great will definitely visit again when I am in the area.
Nice and cool atmosphere inside to escape the heat of Sarasota for a little while. There’s one small table for seating outside, but why would you want to.
Fun place to pop in from time to time. The cafe is always perfectly busy, which makes me feel like I’m in a big city again surrounded by people who know coffee. Sometimes, I try their special drinks but for the most part it’s hot brewed, medium roast with cream for me.
Edit: their coffee beans are good, too. I support their local mission. I haven’t purchased any in awhile just because I’m personally over hand grinding in the mornings, especially during summer months. You can get your beans ground in store but I’m obviously a coffee snob so I’ll wait until I have more energy to start hand grinding again.
Very good coffee. Comfortable indoor seating. Not too many options for food (no fresh croissants just muffins & cookies- they do have a couple of fresh savory items from a local bakery). Clean. Try their filthy chai! (Two shots of espresso mixed with chai latte - oh my!!!)
Cool little coffee shop in Gulf Gate. Trendy and modern vibe. They're always so kind to my children in there, I can't give them anything other than a 5-star review. Great coffee, great service, great people!

I drive about 90 minutes to go to this coffee shop. The people are great, the drinks are good (especially with Rishi Chai concentrate), and the atmosphere is enjoyable. The baked goods from a local company are good, too. Prices seem a bit higher than other shops, though they are still reasonable.

Cozy spot. Good coffee. Fairly priced. Great service. Got a tasty mocha latte with an extra shot of espresso to go, but hung out for a bit onsite. They also have locally sourced pastries and a few sandwich options advertised, but I didn't try any of the food. Cash and credit accepted. P.S. there was only one person working at the time I went, and she was doing everything, so a bit of a wait while she made every individual order. Not a problem at all, but just in case anyone is tight on time, keep that in mind.
