My MOST FAVORITE Indian food restaurant in this whole area!! Maybe my favorite restaurant period! I come for the lunch Buffett as often as I can when I’m in the area (within 20 miles! Because it’s worth the drive!) But the food is ALWAYS SO FRESH AND SO FLAVORFUL you can tell they always cook with love and a lot of skill! Everything is my favorite! The staff is super accommodating, the alcohol selection is great and that Naan Bread-Woah!! This restaurant is most definitely worth the drive, you will have a fantastic meal and will absolutely want to come back!!! 5 STARS!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

100% original Indian food. The place is very well set and is 100% Indian food, it is an authentic place with Indian roots where you can see the culture of the country in its entirety, being a unique and highly recommended experience. The food is excellent, both in its variety and in its preparation, I was lucky enough to participate in a buffet and that allowed me to access a more variety of dishes, all excellently prepared and with an incredible flavor. The service is very good and very efficient, even for a large number of guests like the one there that day (50+) with adults and children, and at all times the staff was attentive to the needs of all diners.

For some reason, most of the local Indian restaurants stopped offering buffets at lunch during Covid and never brought them back, but not Maharaja, thankfully. For some new to the cuisine like me - only been eating it a few years - knowing which dish is what is a touch difficult. So, enter the buffet. Try a little to find out if you like it. And the folks here have gotten much better at signage so at least you can attempt to learn the names of all the tasty offerings. So far, I have enjoyed everything I've tried though a few items I'm not sure I'm serving up properly. The samosas are definitely filling, the bhaji I consider more of an appetizer that I eat with my fingers and a bit of chutney. Tikka Masala & Vindaloo are favorites. As for the rest, I'm still learning the names. The staff are always friendly and accommodating and the place is always clean. Wheelchair access is easy with a ramp just feet away from the front door and plenty of room to navigate the interior. Music plays quietly in the background, not intruding on conversations at all.

The food is good for us. We don’t eat spicy food so wouldn’t know if spicy is good or bad. We like flavor and they have good flavor. We usually do takeout here. The interior of the restaurant is just ok, could use some remodeling but am sure that would be an investment they might not want to make yet. Tandoori down the road is fancy and remodeled but I feel the food is better here and better priced.

Beg my husband to try this place because we havent found a good indian cuisine. So we went for dinner. Server and the service is outstanding! Very attentive and also refilling our water and checking up on us. After being here for 7 years, we found our local indian gem. Their dish chicken tikka masala is too die for! I love butter chicken but we will try that next time! My guy is a budlight fan and wanted to try something new, he loves this lager! Great beer!

The place is nice and decent. For dinner, we tried their Chicken Tikka Marsala and everyone loved it. We also like the Chicken Tandoori. The beef curry was just ok and the fried okra is good. The service was awesome. Thanks.

As soon as i walked in, the aroma of Indian life Authentic delicious Indian cuisine. What a treat, to eat a meal here. Having eaten indian food all over the world, I can assure you of excellence here. Beautifully prepared foods, flavors, spice and texture of India. Friendly helpful staff to serve excellent dishes. Best Indian meal, i have eaten for a long time. They also do a lunch buffet @ $17 per head, this buffet gets ( 3 stars *** ) with only 1 protein, chicken available plus vegan and vegetarian choices. Unique chef meals also available on request off menu, at lunch too -- Enjoy ;) J

There are several great places to get Indian food here in Sarasota. This place however is the crème de la crème of Indian food. It’s actually authentic, family owned and prepared food. The butter chicken is my favorite and I will drive miles out of my way to get it. You can get REAL naan bread here and get it in the garlic variety and you will not regret it. I’m not huge on desserts so as a recommendation they offered a mango lassi… Wow. This cold smooth mango drink was soooooo good and hits the spot after eating their curry. My biggest recommendation is to start slow with their spice levels because their hot is definitely hot. I think their mild is a perfect blend of creamy with a hint of spice. So next time you’re in the mood for Indian, you owe it to yourself to experience this hidden gem! I appreciate the wait staff for always being so friendly and accommodating. Never have I seen them without a smile and happy to see and my family. So great!

The owner served us, and made sure we were happy and had all we needed. He was very kind and customer friendly! Food was AMAZING!!! ABOUT A WEEK AND A HALF LATER... My husband and I came back to this restaurant with a friend and her husband, who were in from out of town, celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary. The owner approached us, and remembered my husband and I! This made us feel nice, as this was our second time ever being here! The food was even better this time around, I thought! I ordered my usual, chicken korma (amazing, bold flavors!), my husband ordered the goat biryani, and our guests ordered lamb dishes. The peshwari naan is always soo good, so I got 2! The onion and mint chutneys were pretty good (I'd have to admit that I prefer the ones at a particular restaurant in Kissimmee, where we used to live, but they were still very good here!) But the raita yogurt was amazing! It actually printed me to try to learn to make it at home! *We were worried that we wouldn't be able to make it in time to eat, as we went to see the sunset at siesta key beach. We didn't arrive here until 915pm, and they still let us in! Although they closed at 10pm, they didn't rush us to leave. We ended up leaving close to 1030pm (sorry again, guys! But THANK YOU!!!) I was reading the older reviews and am dumbfounded by so many negative ones! Maybe there are good days and bad days, and we were lucky enough to come in on the good days?! I hope that, since we came here over a month ago, that the previous concerns were fixed and taken care of. I would hate to have a negative experience here! There are 2 Indian restaurants near my home in North Port, but I would say that in terms of flavor, this one beats them all... I would definitely drive the 31 miles each month for this yummy flavor explosion on my palette!
