Reviews Taco Jalisco

My 1st meal there and the two ladies working the counter was very good. It has a small space for eating in and plenty of condiments. You place your order at the counter, then walk past the sitting area to pay at the Texaco register. If you are not aware of how this works, you will not get your meal and have to wait in line, as if you were getting gas or snacks. Overall, it is a good meal that is hidden in a Texaco gas station.

This might be one of the best kept secrets in all of Sarasota. I was highly anticipating the food because being a truck driver, some of the best foods that I have experienced have been at little dives. This place did not disappoint. 1st off, shout out to the lady in the register in the Red shirt. She ran the place like a bona-fide all-star. No matter how long the line got, she got everyone situated in a timely matter. The food came out hot and fresh. There were many dishes I did not expect to see on the menu. We traveled all the way from Davenport because a friend recommended the place.

I'm specifically trying to find the best breakfast burrito in sarasota, and this place has all the right ones. Exceptional sauce bar. Order at counter Pay at the gas station register. They'll call your # when it's ready. Don't sleep on the chorizo.

I have been looking for a good Mexican food spot since I moved here 2 years ago. This was one of the best I have tried so far. Don’t let the fact it is in a gas station turn you away. The food is great!!

Food is always A+! I've never had anything here that wasn't delicious. Sometimes there is a bit of a wait for your order, but it's still worth it. Prices are pretty good for what you get.

Never have a bad experience here. They do get a little busy around lunch time but other than that their turnover is pretty quick, so your are not waiting for a long time. I do recommend if you are in a rush call them ahead and place your order.

Update 5 years later: We came back to the area and couldn’t wait to try their tacos again. Would like to report that they are still very good. Very good tacos! Taco de Barbacoa is probably one of the best taco in the menu. Affordable but delicious food and the owners are very friendly too. Recommended for anyone who wants to experience authentic Mexican food.

If you want authentic Mexican food, this is a great place. Prices are very reasonable. The food is good and the customer service is great. There is limited seating, but a place to sit and relax and enjoy your meal and watch the big screen. I definitely recommend this place if you enjoy Mexican food.

This place has legit Mexican food. It's in a gas station and a little grungy so you're not here for the atmosphere. If you love shady taco joints, this is it.

You've never had Mexican food till you've had this food. Even though it's in a gas station, you feel like you're in a little Pueblo in Mexico. Hands down best of the best!

GREAT food, I was shocked. Would have never guessed food of this quality would come out of a rented space in a gas station. Prices are great too. Make sure you try their homemade sauces. Red sauce is outstanding. That's a chimichanga in the picture.

Amazing service and food. The line was almost out the door, yet we ordered and had our food within 20min. The best Torta Iv had hands down. I highly recommend anybody passing by try this hole in the wall that absolutely will change your taste buds life.

Best jalisco tex mex food I have found in Sarasota County. I like the atmosphere and counter serve style with sauces available. Good prices too. They do refried beans and rice correctly. Great tasting enchiladas. Looking forward to trying more of the menu.

This is probably the best Mexican food I have ever eaten, definetly top 3. We vacationed here from Scranton, PA- Our area has many many authentic Mexican places to eat, but this literal gas station blew it out of the water. We got a chicken chimichanga, a beef chimichanga, and an order of rice and beans. Both chimichangas were full of flavor, the meats seasoned beautifully. They came with a homemade Pico, sour cream, and a homemade green salsa with avocado (I would not say it was guacamole, the avocado was not the star of the show) we paid less than 20$ for these 3 items, and it was more than worth it.

I think it’s fair to say best taqueria in Sarasota. The fact that it’s ALWAYS filled with Spanish speaking workmen at lunch is a testament to the great taste and reasonable prices. I’m a big fan of the shrimp tacos and carnitas. El pastor is pretty darn good too. The best deals are the large lunch plates with rice and beans. Only time I was disappointed was when I went just before closing and the carnitas were dry. Lunch is always amazing.

AMAZING FOOD, like legit Mexican food that you would never expect to find inside a gas station. Highly recommend, and I go every year while I’m on vacation here, and it seems the locals come often too. The only reason I give it a 4 and not a 5 is because of the state of the gas station/restaurant, it is very messy and unkempt. Although it’s not directly Taco Jalisco’s fault that the gas station is that way, the restaurant it’s self, looks the same way. Update menus, clean the look up a bit and it would be a 5 star.
