A great spot. The Banyan Café is located on the grounds of the Ringling Museum. The grounds are beautiful with many Banyan trees and other foliage, a rose garden, a bamboo stand, and a pleasant vista of the bay. Ca d’Zan and the Ringling Museum buildings are fabulous.

Across from one of those Banyan trees and next to a children’s playground is the Banyan Café, offering hot dogs, cheeseburgers, chicken, and a few other items to provide the fuel to continue your visit. I tried a cheeseburger and fries, both were fine, the cheeseburger pretty large. Not too overpriced either, the burger running $8, the fries $3.

A visit to the Banyan Café would likely require paying admission to the museum, but not always. Our visit today was on National Museum Day, and admission to the museum, the grounds, and even Ca d’Zan were free. It was also crowded, the café and everything else very busy. The food was premade and you picked it up cafeteria style. That may not be how things work on a more typical day but it worked well today. They have seating outside, which today was very popular.

The Banyan Café would not be a destination, but the Ringling complex is, and while there the Banyan Café is a good place to stop for some food.

Relief from the heat. If you're at Ringling, and you're hot, thirsty or hungry, stop in. It is mostly chips, fries and chicken nuggets, but they also have some salads and cold, pre-made sandwiches. I had chicken salad on a croissant and thought it was great. maybe someone else might think it a bit bland, but I was hot and that with the cold Zephyrhills water hit the spot. I liked that they put grapes in the chicken salad.

I enjoyed an art pause and a great hamburger with my friend Kirsten here. It was wonderful and the hamburger was delicious! The kids working here are so sweet. They even brought our little meal over to our picnic table. Wow!

Good food and friendly service from the Museum outdoor cafe. No table service, you order from inside at a counter and after you pay they bring you you cooked to order food. For $8, you do get a lot of chicken nuggets, enough to share. I had a Nathan's hotdog.
