My girlfriend and I went today around brunch time. It's been awhile since I had eaten there and she had never been. We were both VERY happy with the food. She got eggs benedict and I got a patty melt (american cheese / sourdough) and I paid extra to substitute onion rings for fries. Peggie and I both agree these onion ring were among the best if not THE best onion rings we ever had. The patty melt was amazing too. Peggie loved her eggs benedict. I saw someone on this page complained of bland food. Perhaps she is used to the obscene amounts of sodium so many restaurants use. I thought it tasted awesome and I am glad they don't oversalt. If your looking for a classic dining experience and are the type that appreciates the nostalgia of simpler times, you will enjoy it here.

I was brought up in Santa Clarita. I do know back in the seventies, the food was great and the service was fast. Everytime I get to come back home. I have to stop in. Love this place.

Great breakfast all the time! The pancakes are excellent, and the omelette ms are big, with lots of meat. Definitely my favorite breakfast joint.

It was great. I'm a big fan of So Cal history. It's not the Ritz but nastalgically it's fantastic. Over 100 years in business and a list of amazing people have sat and eaten at this dingy little place. Teddy Roosevelt ate there. And in 1953 the brat pack ate there while filming "Suddenly". And a long list of others in the movie indusrty had eaten there. Gable,Gary Cooper etc....In 1938 Markena Deitrich filmed "Seven Sinners" behind the restaraunt. Personally I loved my burger and fries. Super dinery and authntic.

Great food, great service. I highly recommend the eggs benedict and the fish and chips. The french fries were the best I've ever had! Thick, crispy, and not oily. I will definitely be returning. Such a neat piece of history.

Do you like great service, if good food your thing. Do you appreciate a great value. If so, you can’t go wrong here. I remember coming to the Saugus Cafe over 50 years ago. Highly recommend

I love a good straight to the point breakfast, and this cafe knocks it out of the park. The servers are always quick to refill your coffee, and take your order. The food is a great way to start the day. One of the best spots in town.

OG diner with an awesome vibe and decor, the food is not cheap but comes in huge portions, you will not leave hungry. Country gravy is good, biscuits good, hashbrowns good. Many many different meat choices with your eggs. Every diner has "steak and eggs" but this one goes overboard, there are at least five different kinds of steak to have with your eggs, including both "chicken fried" and "country fried" steaks. Service was excellent.
