Have not been to this bar yet...but l hope to make it there before the snow flies. I have been in contact with one of the patrons....he is a handsome gentleman that tells me how great a place it is. I cant wait to visit you all there...;))
Ordered 2 plates and a few drinks. My blackened whitefish sandwich was delicious, charged 3$ extra for a side of "Maloney fries" which are w melted cheese and gravy on them, wayyy under portioned for 3$. My girls bourbon sriracha chicken on the other hand was gross. Chicken seemed to be microwaved, it was rubbery and dry. Service and drinks was good, bartender was tending the bar abs serving 3 or 4 tables alone on a Friday night. Overall good experience just a bad sandwich?
Great bar food, best wings. I've been here twice, over the course of five years. The first time (2006) I had a burger, cooked medium rare with fries and wings for an appetizer. The burger was cooked just right and was damn tasty. The wings were the best I've ever had. I have no idea why, but they were exceptional.
The second time (2011) I had wings (again) for an appetizer and got the meatloaf sandwich, which was a special. The wings were amazing again. But that meatloaf sandwich was exceptional. Just great bar food. My wife got the whitefish sandwich, which I snuck a bite of, and it was excellent as well. The waitstaff was great and the beer is so cold it'll make your teeth hurt. I love the U.P.!!!
Worth a visit. Great atmosphere before 9ish for most folk. It gets a little Rowdy after that.
The food is really top notch for Pub food and I have never once had a complaint. Staff is nice and usually 'cheeky'.
Prices are a bit high but the diverse menu makes up for the price.

We came here near Halloween. It was so warm and friendly! Such a great vibe inside and everyone was welcoming. Our family of four had dinner and adults had drinks. The food was outstanding! The pretzel beer cheese burger was amazing. The queso dip is delicious as well. Good selection of lager and beer on tap.
Food was good. Wife had the bacon grilled cheese with avocado. I have the festia chicken wrap. Service was good. Waitress went out of her way to make sure my wife had a fancy drink, as there drink menu menu is limited and all have similar ingredients; oj, vodka, pineapple. Beer selection is decent, although beer could be served colder.
Awesome little pub nice and close to the Soo locks. 7 people in our group, and we all enjoyed what we ordered. They offer lots of on tab beers also!
We decided to grab dinner out and went here. We were promptly greeted and told we could sit anywhere. Our waitress came and got our drink orders and gave us menus. We started with mild chicken wings. They were cooked perfectly. The outside was crispy and the meat fell off the bone. We also ordered the steak bites which were tender and juicy. They came with a side of horsey sauce for dipping.
My husband had the beef and chedder. It had plenty of meat and lots of cheese. I ordered the Irish dip which had meat,onions,mushrooms,and lots of swiss cheese. The bun had crispy edges even when dipped. It had a side of dipping juice. Both sandwiches came with fries. The fries were crispy,hot and delicious. Stop by and enjoy a quick bite to eat.
The Reubens are delicious. Onion rings were small with a lot of breading. Bang Bang shrimp was decent but have had better. Went here for lunch and recommend trying once.
Drop in for a quick bite to eat. The steak bites were an excellent appetizer. And the grilled cheeseburger was awesome!
Not my favorite environment but I can see why it was a local suggestion. The food was really good and came quick. The service was ok. I believe only the bartender was serving. Im sure in the summer they are packed and likely have several servers and a few bartenders.
My buddies and I needed a vacation from our Mac Island jobs and took a day trip up to the Soo because our one friend has a mild boat fetish… okay I digress…
Molly and Heather were awesome. Very helpful and knowledgeable on the beer selection. Food was fantastic and cheap as a stated island escort. Ten stars.
Had lunch there today food was great not real busy for a Friday. Service was fast and very reasonable for a tourist area. A lot of craft beers but didn’t try any.
The atmosphere is great. The building definitely has a story to tell. The food was good. It was prepared with quality ingredients and served hot. The server was top notch. She checked on us just the right amount and was super nice. She cleared plates immediately rather then let us sit in front of dirty plates.
For a pub on the main street of a tourist area we were pleasntly surprised. The food was great and filling. The prices less than expected. 2 mixed drinks and 2 burgers w fries was about $33 w tax.
