Loads of bang for the buck at the Sandfly. This is a classic diner environment: tight quarters; chatty and familiar wait staff; and a no frills but comprehensive menu. The trio of sliders was a great sampler of pulled meat. This wasn’t the BBQ I’ve ever had but the meat was tender and flavorful and the various sauces available are super tasty. And the sweet potato fries are worth the $2!

Wow, new to Savannah from Orlando. We were looking for GREAT BBQ and found it Sandfly BBQ on Bernard Street Savannah GA. This place is really cool on the inside, the BBQ is AMAZING & the service from Izzy was outstanding!!!! My wife and I had the chopped Brisket, baked & green beans they are delicious. Our son had pulled pork and fries he Loved it!! We would highly recommend this place, you'll see our sons dollar bill with the Black Ops IIII logo he drew on the ceiling.

Goodness. This is some solid BBQ in the middle of Savannah. Service was on point, food came out quick and hot and the brisket was aweeesome. It's not a big place, you have a handful of booths and some bar seats, it's in an old "Streamliner Diner" building and is nothing but atmosphere.

Short trip to Savannah with so many places to choose from we ultimately chose this place due to the proximity to the park and the sole fact it's in a streamliner. Atmosphere was eccentric mixed with a touch of yesteryear. Personalized dollar bills & other currency makes up a wallpaper-esque vibe of the inside of the streamliner. Very cool to look at. Had the Two Meat Combo with Sausage & Pulled Pork, the sausage had a great snap of the casing, excellent. The pulled pork was great, not the best ever, but up there. Cole slaw was nice and refreshing, mac & cheese was homemade and delicious. Also ordered the Buddy Burger and duck fat fries. Fries were next level. Service was on point, our waitress couldn't be friendlier. There was a parking lot, no need for parking garage. They also graciously offered military discount which we always appreciate. Kudos for also having cardboard takeaway containers and cups, and not having any styrofoam. I do wish the entrees such as the burger came with fries or a side option. $4 for a small $8 for a large side of fries is a bit much on top of a $9 burger. The place, windows and menus could probably use a bit of cleaning. Overall, we enjoyed it and would revisit.

Just happened to spot this place while driving around Savannah looking for something to eat...good standard BBQ(food came out quick and was pretty good), very cool retro ambiance&decor(and the music they have going is great, a mix of 80's, R&B, and Soul), and waitstaff was kind and super attentive(our waitress India was super nice and had a great sense of humor). We added our personalized dollar to the sea of others before we left and will definitely swing back by thru here one day😊😊

Hands down the best BBQ restaurant in Savannah. Everything here is excellent. My husband and I especially love the pulled pork, brisket, Brunswick stew, and Mac balls. The diner atmosphere is fun, and they have free parking available. I also like that you can get delivery for a reasonable price, and the food tastes great at home too.

Good BBQ spot, I enjoyed it. Cool vibes too! It's in a reason car. One tip is maybe go to another location if it's raining really hard cause they had to keep dozing a leak over one of the booths. We sat at the bar though and or server Precious was so great! The Mac not cheese is epic and my brisket sandwich was tasty!

After reading the reviews I had little skepticism about this throwback of a restaurant. With its diner build and dollar bills covering the walls I have to say that I would without a doubt come back here. All of the food I had was probably some of the best I've ever had(and I'm from Texas). The staff was extremely nice and helpful. Full stars for food, service, and a full stomach.

Here’s my very honest review. Hubby and I pulled up to Sandfly BBQ, and I immediately wanted to go somewhere else. When it comes to my food, I’m not a “hole-in-the-wall” kind of girl. I judge a book by its cover which means that I may miss out on good food - and I’m okay with that. I sat in the parking lot and went back to Google reviews. I wanted someone - anyone - to say that the place doesn’t look great, but the food is great. I found and read a few, and I decided to brave it. We walked in and seated ourselves, and Kate took care of us. We ordered the BBQ plate and the beef and pork plate. The food looked great! The BBQ wasn’t hot, but it was warm enough. We also received BBQ buns instead of Texas toast which suited us fine as well. The three barbecue choices were awesome, but the spicy vinegar took the cake for us. Hubby and I both mixed that with the tangy mustard sauce. The sides were deelish, and I was surprised to have BBQ in the baked beans! Let’s not even talk about the house pickles!!! I was full as a tick when we received our bill in a can which was very cute. If it isn’t clear, I’d visit Sandfly BBQ anytime I’m in Savannah in the future. It was a phenomenal choice.

Fall off the bone ribs, 3 different sauces from different Southern regions, Pork fries hit the spot, local beer on tap. Small unique train car to enjoy some excellent BBQ.

The food here was awesome! I was very disappointed though at the fact that they didn't have no ribs or no chop pork@ 3pm had to settle for chicken. Sorry about my food picture I thought about the picture late. 😁

Character, food & people: Sandfly lived up to it all! Definitely recommend coming for some good southern BBQ! We had the combination plates to try a variety of meats (sausage, pork & beef brisket) & loved it all! Service was fast & friendly and eating inside a modified Airstream was really neat! Beware that (like any good BBQ place), they serve until they run out of food. Smoked BBQ takes a while to cook, so they were out of chicken by the time we got there (7pm). Still, we weren’t disappointed!

It may look run down on the outside but don't let it fool you. This place has excellent bbq, I stop here whenever I come to Savannah. The brisket, pulled pork and chicken are so tender and flavorful even without any sauce on it. It comes without sauce so you can decide how much and which kind to put on. Everything you get here is going to be delicious. Their Mac and cheese is also amazing!

Great service, great food, awesome little establishment! The BBQ here was really good and their sauces went well. Brisket was great and so was the pulled pork. I recommend using the tangy vinegar sauce on yours!

Great food, good price, short wait time, efficient staff. I'm not sure our waiter smiled once while we were there which didn't exactly feel warm and inviting but she answered all our questions well and was fast to help us when we needed sauce, bathroom, etc. The dried okra was awesome, mac and cheese was pretty good, green beans were alright, and sweet potato fries were great. Pulled chicken and beef brisket were prefect. This was a cute little no frills spot that delivers exactly what you come for: filling southern BBQ.

After living in Savannah for almost two years, last summer we tried Sandfly bbq. What can I tell you? The place is a beautiful jump in the past and the food never fails. Awesome service too!

Incredible. This was the best barbecue I've had anywhere. An interesting restaurant with friendly and helpful staff. Service was very fast and exactly as needed. Would recommend this to anybody staying in the Savannah area as you'll go a long way to find another place like this. Can't wait to visit Savannah again just so I can come back here.

Food was absolutely incredible. Atmosphere was amazing too. Its inside an old trolley car. Staff is amazing and the wall is filled with illustrated dollar bills. We were mystified and in awe as we ordered the Hog Sampler Platter. Every. Single. Thing. Down to the homemade pickles, were delicious. Also, as a southerner, the best sweet tea I've had from a restaurant. A definite stop for any Savannah trip. Thanks guys!

Got the sliders to sample the trio of meats they had. The chicken is really legit definitely a top spot on the east coast. The brisket was average. The pork was cooked very well just right. The sauces really amplified the pork/brisket tho, awesome sauces.
