We went on the recommendation of our Lyft driver, and he was spot on. The place is intimate and nice. My husband had seafood stuffed snapper and I had the most incredible Lamb shank I've ever had. Our waiter was hilarious and wonderful. Portions were huge, food was flavorful, prices were excellent. Would definitely go again.

What an amazing experience! When we walked in, I was not sure whether we would enjoy it or not. But from the moment we were seated, we were treated so well by the staff. Our waitress was amazing. She made great recommendations and gave our table an appetizer on the house. She was very patient and helpful when helping us pick a bottle of wine. She made us taste 3 different wines and was very knowledgeable about them.
We had the Antipasti appetizer to share and it was so delicious. We were very happy to have gotten to try out a little of everything. The grilled octopus was flavorful and their caviar mousse was great with the pita bread. We also tried the roasted red pepper with goat cheese and olive oil - another great appetizer. For the main course, we had the grilled red snapper. We were shown the fish before it went in to the oven and it was large and fresh. The timing of the service was great. When the fish was ready, the owner came out and filleted it for us. It was one of the tastiest grilled fish I have ever had. It was extremely flavorful and grilled to perfection.
We tried the tiramisu and was given a complimentary plate of fruit. Everything was delicious and the ambiance was excellent. Definitely one of the best spots on River Street. Highly recommended.
I went there yesterday for my birthday. It is probably one of the best meals I have had. The waiter recommended the falafel appetizer and it was just amazing. We also had the spanakopita and it was fantastic! The waiter was great! Highly recommended!
I had the lemon chicken plate. It was out of this world. Waiters were a bit busy and running around, so the service was lacking a bit but still ok.

Visit every year. I'm a frequent visited of the area. Twice a year. I'm a chef and restaurant owner. I've worked in the industry since I was 12. Well over 30 years ago. I always have at least one meal here. I've never ever had a bad experience. Always great food and service. I highly recommend the restaurant.
Authentic Greek. I went for dinner with my husband and had an entire red snapper filleted at the table by the owner himself. The service greatly exceeded my expectations. I will definitely be back for more.
The service and food were great, but the menu on here barely resembles the menu in the restaurant. Many of the items listed here have never even been on the menu. With that being said, the restaurant went out of its way to make a dish that they've never even had on their menu- and it was delicious.

This wonderful restaurant was recommended by Mr. Leopold who has a fantastic ice cream shop. The food, service and atmosphere at Olympic Cafe was perfect. While it sits among very touristy restaurants an shops, it has all the characteristics of a hometown favorite. The owner, Vasilis Varlagas, and his staff made us feel like we were long-time friends and customers.

Service...great, food...fantastic. I had the real Greek salad, hummus and pita. My kids had fish and chips. The fish was fresh and delicious.
Good Food and Service. I would recomend this place to anyone in Savannah looking for Greek cuisine. We ate here on a Monday night around 8:00 and there was only one other family in the restaurant. Our waitress took our order and then brought us some fresh bread. The bread that they brought to the table was piping hot; my wife and I devoured it. When the waitress came to check on us she offered us more bread and we of course said yes. When the food came I was surprised by the size of the salad since their menu specified that it was "small.". The salad was a good size and although it was mostly iceberg lettus, the olives were quite good and they did not skimp out on the fresh feta cheese (yummy!). I wouldn't recommend the fries (my wife ordered these). They look like they came from a bag you buy in the grocery store and cook in your oven. Nothing special there. The Gyro's were every bit as good as I had hoped.

Good food but terrible value. My wife and I opted to eat on the carry out side using a smaller table because this place charges you more to eat in the "nice part" of their restaurant. That idiocy aside, and it is complete idiocy, the food comes from the same kitchen...the food was great... Gyro was excellent and fresh made and my fisherman's salad was a delight, but not enough olives... only one, which is an absolute joke... hello, Greek eatery...olives please! Atmo is hurried cafe style, which means little in style but heavy on character. Service is ....well...you stand in line while they make your complete order before taking the next order, so if you're in the back of a long line, you'll be waiting a while, and you'll also be watching the fellows dripping with sweat prepare your food. This place does plenty of business so grab a seat quickly on the carry-out side, you can eat at the uncomfortable make-shift counter, OR pay more for each meal and use the wait staff next door. Value-wise this place is a no go, an absolute rip-off value-wise, a tourist trap pricing scheme, but hey, what do you expect on River Street, it's a rip off IN EVERY STORE LOCATED THERE. So if you're willing to part with too much money for food served, at least it will taste good.
This place is right on the river in beautiful Savannah. I had the kabob, and my wife had the chicken kabob. Both were very good. The Greek salad was good -- the dressing was excellent!

Very tasty. The gyro was awesome, kinda pricey with the greek salad which was bland and mostly iceberg lettuce. The falafel app was very skimpy as well but tasty, pricey for the quantity. I mean very little falafel balls (which were the smallest ever) with pita and a spoon full of hummus. I'd expect it to be worth $2 and not what i paid. I think they have yummy food but again a little pricey. I will go back and try something else.

Very good food, friendly service. I had gyro platter and calamari. Everything was delicious. The portions were very satisfying. Very friendly service. I do not think anybody can beat the price and the quality of Olympia in Savannah. I highly recommend it.

An institution. Now that yanni's is gone and mediterranean is a disgusting rat hole, this is it for greek food and it's not bad at all. the owners are classy and the staff is very clean and neat.

Finally went today!. Well after many months of wanting to go and hearing so much about it, I finally went! I must say the food was as good as I had heard about. Nick the owner was there and talked with us the entire time, what a great guy!
He made a great Espresso out of his antique of an Espresso machine that looks like an old buick!

This is my favorite place to eat in Savannah. From the outside it doesn't look like much, but when you walk in you are greeted by friendly staff & owners. Be prepared for some fantastic & authentic Greek food.
Best Crispy Scored Flounder in Savannah. Wonderful customer service, great selection of food and very reasonable prices. As a local this moved to one of my top spots to visit after our experience today.

FANTASTIC everything. We went early on the Friday, around 5:30, of Memorial Day weekend. We had a party of 3, and they were able to accommodate us without a reservation.
We started with a complimentary basket of delicious, airy, yet crispy bread with Greek olive oil to drizzle on it.
Not pictured: the perfectly cooked Kalamari appetizer, the Baklava, and the wine! We weren't sure which Greek red to choose, and our server let us sample a couple, as well as the Rosè (which is on the drier side and wonderful). I believe the wine chosen was the Amethystos, delicious!
I had the Greek beer, Mythos, also wonderful! A light lager full of flavor.
The food: AMAZING. Just try as much of it as you can!
The Greek dessert, Galaktoboureko, was amazkng! It was very airy and light!
The Souvalki: delicious, the pita perfect, and the Tzadaki was just right.
Olympia Duo: she chose the Moussaka and the Pastitsio, both a huge hit! She said she couldn't choose between the two!
Moussaka Dinner: also a huge hit! It's a favorite of my co-worker who has eaten here before!
Ambiance and Atmosphere: it was pleasant! Great music that wasn't loud, a fresh rose on the table, real candles throughout the restaurant.
Service: Terrific! She had plenty of recommendations and knew the menu well! She didn't make us feel like we had to rush out, despite them getting busier. I wish I could remember her name, but she had long dark hair and glasses and is gluten-free. Hopefully, the owners or manager sees this and knows who I'm referencing!
Price point: It's a restaurant, on the river, in downtown Savannah. Dinner prices averaged $25-$40/person. $10-$15/glass of wine. It was 100% WORTH IT.
I've eaten at several restaurants on the river since I work right there, and this is now my #1 on River Street.
Wow! This place is amazing.
With so many times as we have come to Savannah's River Street, this is the first time we have entered, so my advice is that you do not pass by as it is a pleasant experience. It is comfortable and with a good atmosphere, families, couples, groups of friends, very nice.
The menu has everything, focused on Greek and Mediterranean cuisine, but without forgetting dishes that we all like, such as hamburgers or chicken fingers. We have taken a long time to decide. Our waitress, Charm, has been the greatest, giving us all the explanations and answering our questions and at every moment attentive to us, friendly and professional. The food is a ten, everything has been better than we expected.
Without a doubt, we will return to try more dishes from their menu since it has raised a lot of curiosity in us.

OMG 🔥 I’m a trucker and out of pure coincidence my cousin who’s also a trucker pulled into the same truck stop in Port Wentworth! We ubered to Olympia after searching for a place to eat since we are pescatarian. We arrived in a Thunder ⛈️ storm so after shuffling in, we were seated in this ambient cobblestone brick wall softly lit cafe!
Ok Ok!! We ordered the Whole Red Snapper (For Two)! Sheesh it was huge 👀 🤤 The Snapper came with delicious sides but the main course did not disappoint. Beautifully prepared and filet table-side by kitchen staff just added essence and class the the most expensive entree on the menu. Well worth every cent❗️

I was here on business and came with large group. This was fantastic!! Food was wonderful and cannot wait to return. We had flaming cheese with sausages for appetizers and I had the stuffed snapper for dinner. Another coworker got the scored flounder and he’s still talking about it a day later. Soooo good! And service was wonderful. Cannot wait to come back with my hubs.

Our food was a bit expensive, but I can’t say it didn’t worth it. We didn’t want anything like gyros, wraps or burgers. We wanted seafood. Our waitress was very nice, explained everything we asked! Thanks to her we got Sautéed shrimp and scallops with couscous and Mediterranean style red snapper. We actually didn’t order drinks, just water. We shared 2 entrée and 1 appetizer with a slice of pizza for the kid and dessert. $100 for all. Including the tip.

Wonderful Greek food and staff! Our waiter was so sweet and attentive, he made great recommendations. We got the lunch specials of a gyros salad and a salmon salad and the food was excellent, big portion size and great value for the reasonable price. It’s located right on the riverside and has a great atmosphere. Worth the stop!

Amazing food on River Street. We wanted Greek food and had a fabulous gyro dinner plate. But don't pass up the delicious scored flounder!!!! Wow wow wow. Cooked to perfection. Portions were huge. The flounder will not disappoint you. Served with potatoes and peas. 5 stars from us. Our waitress was great and food was served quickly.

Superb Greek dinner. Awesome location on river street, and romantic ambience inside. Had a lovely dinner with fresh bread, hummus, lamb shank, and Greek duo. More than generous serving size food. Service was wonderful as well! Owner stopped by our table and was so kind and made sure our experience was enjoyable. I recommend!
The food was soooo delicious. It was our anniversary weekend. We ended up going back another night. The owner was so pleasant and even gave us free dessert both days. I had the blackened salmon with the Greek salad. It was so good and the next day I had to try the shrimp scampi that my husband had. It did not disappoint. And of course their homemade bread is delicious.
