If you come to Savannah for fine dining, you must come to the Grey. One thing that we noticed is that it seem to have strayed from its roots slightly as a full southern restaurant and now it’s more upscale modern American food. That’s not necessarily a bad thing. Enjoyed the pumpkin salad and the eggplant okra appetizers. I had the lamb chops which were tasty and the rest of table had the flounder. Was cooked perfectly. Had the smashed potatoes and the collards. The drinks were unique. I had a mezcal drink with carrot juice. Sounded strange but tasted great. Would definitely go back.

I Loved THE GREY. I was first impressed with the location along with the building restoration and design. You immediately feel the soul and spirit when you walk in. More important the food was great. Flavor comes first always. The menu is simple and straight to the point. I had dinner with my daughter and did my own version of a surf and turf. Oysters and Scallops as an appetizer followed by a dry aged Rib-Eye Steak. I definitely will return when I revisit Savannah.

If there is one restaurant I recommend for Brunch...no matter the state...it would be The Grey. Atmosphere is an old Greyhound station that has been revitalized as a cafe. Went for the first time on December 10th and still can't get that food out of my mind.

Made my way to The Grey by way of Chefs Table and was absolutely blown away! The mixologist behind the bar was so sweet and welcoming, Natalie, thank you for your care! I chose the chefs suggestion ($125) 5 course menu which was so beautifully crafted— they were all dishes not listed on the menu— take a look for yourself. So fresh and inspiring. The restaurant itself is beautiful and there’s so much history on the walls.

Eating at The Grey has been something I have wanted to do every time we visited Savannah. On this trip, it finally happened! We did not eat in the main dining room, we were in the private room downstairs which is the original boiler room for the Greyhound bus station where the restaurant is now located. I had the Crab Beignets for my meal. They were delicious if you are really hungry, get something to go with them. My son got the fried chicken. Honestly, the way he ate it, I was glad we were in the private room. Other dishes ordered by our party included the Rabbit Mortadella, Buckwheat Pancake, and the Field Pea Falafel.

I want to start by saying our waiter was fabulous! Also, the ambiance is very cool. That said, our reservation was at 8 but we weren’t seated until 9. Most of the food was solid, but our fish was so over cooked we couldn’t eat it. Based on the ambiance alone I’d still recommend this spot to a friend. It’s just very cool.

Family dinner on our vacation to Tybee. Wonderful meal, and Mary, our server was AMAZING and so insightful about the chef's dishes! It was such a treat to get so much background on the meals. We very much enjoyed and appreciated the Chefs choice menu. The dill cucumber gazpacho was so clean and bright. A wonderful start! The compressed melon salad with the peanut lime dressing was unbelievably delicious. Oh, my mushrooms! The locally sourced mushroom in rabbit bbq sauce course had incredible depth and such a silky texture. The main course quail with red peas and grits was so very good and the flourless chocolate torte with the tiny candied orange peel cubes was quite decadent. Would absolutely recommend! Can't wait to visit again.

Very good atmosphere. We really liked our ribeye steak, the crispy potatoes and beans on the side. The dinner rolls are very, very buttery, almost like croissants, loved them. Nice vibe in the place, and the service was amazing thanks to our server Amanda! Would definitely come back again and recommend to anyone who's looking for a good experience for a nice occasion!

Let me tell you this is one of the best places to dine in Savanah. Things I would recommend getting are the catfish dip, swordfish starter (I didn't take a picture, but it was the best thing we had) and the quial for a main. The collard greens were some of the best I have had. You can mix and match your oysters, but the ones from Washington are the best. The drinks across the board were fantastic. I didn't take pictures of the desert, but we had the cake, chocolate torte, and the butterscotch pudding, which were all amazing. We went on a Saturday night, and it was packed, so dinner took a little bit. Don't plan on leaving in under two hours or $200, but it's worth it.
