If you are looking for good food, good beer, and good times, head to Bernie’s. Located on the river, it’s ‘no frills, ‘dive bar’ kind of vibe wraps both arms around you and welcomes you with a bear hug. The Low Country Boil and the Crab Cakes were wonderful. The LCB is something I managed to eat all myself, but it is something you can consider a shareable. The beer menu isn’t extensive, but you don’t need one. They’ve got the staples, both on draft and in the can. If you want to start your night off well - then be sure to visit Bernie’s.

Bernie's Oyster House on River Street in Savannah is a must-visit for seafood lovers. The restaurant is located in a historic building and has a charming and laid-back atmosphere. The oysters are the star of the menu, and they are fresh, delicious, and shucked to order. The restaurant offers a variety of oyster dishes, including fried oysters, oyster po'boys, and oysters Rockefeller. The chili dogs are another standout menu item, with juicy hot dogs topped with homemade chili and cheese. The prices are reasonable for the quality of food and service, making it a great value for your money. The staff is friendly and attentive, providing excellent service throughout your meal. Overall, Bernie's Oyster House on River Street is a great choice for anyone looking for fresh seafood and delicious chili dogs in a fun and casual atmosphere.

Delicious as always. Had the salmon, and it was super tasty. Low country boil is a must try. However, on my second visit eating, it was much less food than I had the time before. Also, it wasn't as seseasoned. Their local beer and magarita are soooo good.

5 of us stopped in and enjoyed this dark little place. First time we stopped in had the Shrimp Tacos were 5 🌟 but watch the Tomatoes they put on...its a lot. Phily Steak Sandwich was another 5 🌟 but the side potato salad was a bit to much Mayo. Turkey Club was a winner as was the Burger and fries both 5 🌟. Second a day later saw us try the Seafood Chowder which was ok being thick and creamy but tasted like it came out of a can and little seafood but lots of potatoes...4 🌟 Chilli was way to many beans 3 🌟. Oysters were a hit even at $18 a dz so a strong 5 🌟.Over all we enjoyed both visits and Mike our server the second time there was outstanding.

The food was surprisingly excellent from this bar. I got the grilled shrimp poboy and a side of potato salad. Both were some of the best I have ever had! Lots of shrimp that were perfectly cooked and seasoned. Potato salad was sooo good! Service was fast and good.

Cozy hole-in-the-wall set up with as many tables as they could possibly cram in. We got a table immediately upon arrival which is no easy feat along the riverfront. We both ordered grilled shrimp po'boy sandwiches. I ordered mine with their potato salad and both our meals were really goooood. There only seemed to be one waitress working our whole area, Zara, and she was so busy. We had to flag her down to request a beer after a couple of their speciality drinks, but as I said, she was really busy. Kudos to her because she was working hard ! Good service and our food came out pretty fast. Would definitely eat here again when in the area

If you are trying to find Bernie's???? Look toward the river and Bernie's will be the 2nd to last shop on your right side (On the river front). We asked 4 people and noone could answer where to find...mostly imported workers...anyhow...the search will be worth the effort!!! The atmosphere is one where you roll up your sleeves and dive into some of the finest seafood that you will ever have the joy of eating. It's a "Do drop in" atmosphere that caters to those who just want GREAT food. We sat at the bar and Peggi was the greatest bartender that we encountered on our trip-she made us feel like friends. We had Oysters that literally melted to the palate..an explosion of freshness. While there...some locals came in an ordered a bucket of oyster to shuck themselves....check out the picture of one of the largest oysters on record...the lucky stiff....We also had a course of fresh steam shrimp...a platter that was heaping with shrimp! The place is not cheap but you get what you pay for....a MUST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Husband had the shrimp basket - was a plentiful amount of food & was very good. I had the seafood chowder - good & hot, but was most definitely from a can. For the ambiance, over a dozen shrimp in the basket & great service from Donny Bernie’s gets 5 stars from us !!

A hidden gem! They are known for their oysters, but we had their shrimp Poboy and club sandwich which were delicious! Friendy a sevice and we were were seated right away, after being told down the street that they had a 2 hour wait! We also had to get their T-shirts "shuck me, suck me, eat me raw" Bernies Oyster bar 🤣🤣

All right. I come to this place every year for the oysters and the atmosphere. This year. Both were great as always. But this time I got the special and potato salad to go. And at this time I have not ate the special but I have ate the potato salad. And let me tell you. As a born and bread Georgian this is the best tator salad I have ever ate. It was literally an euphoric experience in my mouth.

You need to know this is a divey bar atmosphere BUT service is great and so is the food. All seafood is fresh each morning and you can taste it. Not an extensive beer selection but they cover all the bases and I enjoyed a nice local IPA. Fried foods are delicious and not greasy. I enjoyed fried shrimp with tater tots and hush puppies while my husband chose raw oysters and a side salad. Hush puppies are especially tasty. Waitress was great, full of info and very attentive. They were also very accommodating about turning the TV to the game we wanted to watch. There are four TVs here. And a bar you can sit at.

Popped in to Bernie's Oyster House River Street for dinner while on a business trip to Savannah, GA. I loved Bernie's. The décor is definitely a dive bar which adds to the ambiance. 6:30 pm on a Tuesday night and we walk in and were seated immediately. The staff was quick, attentive and very friendly. The food. Oh my the food was fantastic. I was in my happy place. I had the Low-Country Boil (shrimp) and my coworker had the1 lb. peel and eat shrimp and a salad. We both loved the flavor and the sheer amount of food Bernie's provided. If you are in Savannah, definitely go see the historic river front area and reward yourself with some excellent seafood at Bernie's Oyster House!

Great little hole in the wall bar on River Street. Friendly staff and ice cold beer. The local Service brew is very good.

Enjoyable staff and friendly environment. You want a "dive" bar, this is it. Besides the grungy dark physical demeanor of the bar it was very clean. Great fast bartenders who engage all customers. Incredible affordable boozing. Keep up the simple formula, it works. Do not change a thing. Solid pub.
