Awesome new place with Chef Kyle Jacovino formerly of The Florence. Had the empanada and braised short rib with succotash. Everything was delicious and the atmosphere was cool with the open kitchen. Definitely recommend trying out this new neighborhood hidden gem.
Went for brunch and have every intention of returning for dinner. The menu was well-rounded, the service super attentive, and -of course- the food was absolutely delicious. Must try's include the pork hash, banana bread, and lemon bar for dessert.
Absolutely loved this place! Awesome menu. Great service. Creative wine list. Save room for dessert.
Very innovative menu, perfect preparation of delicate dishes like tartare and octopus. The waitress recommended a great bottle of wine. Outstanding almond cake dessert. Oh - and free parking! Definitely will return.
The best food in Savannah! Hand crafted pastas and unique flavor profile that make your palate very happy.
Incredible food and fantastic service. You have to walk through the lobby of the DeSoto hotel, but don't let that fool you - this is definitely one the best places we've ever eaten in Savannah! The menu is a mix of Spanish and Italian with a focus on local and seasonal ingredients. Complex, interesting, very flavorful dishes all around.
You're missing out if you don't try the cast iron octopus - beautiful texture, perfect flavor, great heat without making you sweat!
We had dinner the other night and it was absolute perfection. Kyle is amazing and his staff is spot on. Thank you for providing quality food and service.
The atmosphere, the food, the service, all were outstanding! I particularly loved the paella and the beet pasta. Cannot wait to go back!
Amazing! All of it! Empanadas, short ribs, whole fish and not to mention desert! Yes, yes, yes!!!
Impeccable service combined with great food! We didn’t think to call ahead and ask about Vegetarian options but we did have a few choices on the menu. We were told f we called ahead, more options were available. We will be back!
We went for dinner last night. I had the Bolognese and he had the Fisherman's stew. Both were amazing! I would put our dinner up against a NYC restaurant anyday. We will definitely be back to try the cast iron octopus among other things. Welcome to Savannah!
Fine dining at its best. The 1540 is a locally sourced farm to table, fine dining establishment. One of the best diners my wife and I have ever had. My wife enjoyed the local catch, and I enjoyed the pork chop. Pork is my favorite meat. I ordered it well done and it was cooked perfect. Homemade bread with butter. The oysters came with their own house made hot sauce. Desserts were amazing. You must make a reservation. Our reservation was made months in advance. Looking forward to my next experience at the 1540 very soon.
1540 is excellent. Chef Collins is a genius in the kitchen, every single meal was beyond delicious. We had the steak tartare as an appetizer, the presentation was 10/10 and the taste lived up to also be a 10/10. For entrees we got the Steak and Menguez, Trish recommended the Menguez as it was one of the specialities of the Chef. Again these plates delivered perfection. Fantastic experience hope to come back during a different season for a different menu.
My wife and I had dinner here after a Halloween concert in the hotel. Food and service were top notch and everything you'd want from a very nice restaurant. We shared a Kofta appetizer, I had Merguez as a main and my wife had the steak, rare. That was all excellent. For dessert it was Sholeh Zard for me and the Semolina Cake for wifey. Again, it was fabulous.
Simply wow. This was hands down the best meal we had in Savannah. The menu is innovative and the food is abundant in flavors. The duck confit was the most exquisitely executed version of this dish I have ever had -- perfectly crisp skin and moist and tender meat. We also had the Turkish manti, which was different from anything we've ever tried but the textures and flavors were so unique and perfect. Kelly was our server and he did such a great job walking us through the menu and making us feel welcome. I only wish we would have arrived hungrier so that I could have ordered more dishes.
Amazing food and great waiter too. One of the few places in Savannah I really consider fine dining, with fresh and local ingredients and a small well curated menu. Try the steak tartare!
One of the best restaurants I have ever eaten at. Farm to table amazing flavors. Definitely a must try. My favorite in Savannah.
Fusion is the only word that comes to mind to describe the food, but that really undervalues what it is. Every sip and every bite was packed with flavor in layer after layer. An absolute delight.
Savory drinks with smoked paprika; delectable semolina cornbread with smoked peach butter; the most amazing fresh bread (I can't even tell you what it was beyond flavor packed and delicious); mains fusing southern, Jamaican, and middle eastern, and deserts you want to stretch out the evening to savor.
It was a $100 each but absolutely worth it for two hours of incredible.
Make a reservation while you can! The chef is a rising star. We were visiting Savannah for a week and enjoyed many of the top restaurants and bars. A friend of ours mentioned the 1540 Room and said we must try the steak tartar. I haven’t had steak tartar in years and I was intrigued that a young chef would take on this classic dish. It was amazing! Topping the tartar is a house made marinated duck yoke that pares perfectly with the hand cut, locally sourced beef. Im sorry I missed taking a photo because the presentation was so much fun I forgot. My husband and I selected wines by the glass. Our server Kelly has a beyond typical knowledge of the wine list and excellent service skills. You can tell he is a professional from the moment you enter the dining room.
After our steak tartar experience, we shared an autumn salad with smoked beets and butternut squash, yum. For our mains we had the homemade lamb sausage with couscous and the roast duck. Both were locally sourced, home made sausages and delicious. For desert Kelly suggested a glass of sparkling to pair with our Housemaid meringue, ice cream and topped with a fresh peach sauce. This was the end to a perfect evening and the highlight of our trip. We look forward to returning to see what the chef is planning next.
Amazing! The food was so flavorful and complex. Our waiter, Kelly, was awesome. He was super informative, friendly, and fun. He gave us some other recommendations about places to visit while we were in town. I would definitely come back!
Great dining experience! The menu does change, since most of the items we saw in other reviews weren't on the menu, but I find that exciting, and we had fun browsing and trying things. Some of the flavors we had were very interesting, and unique. I really enjoyed it.
The ambiance is very nice and the staff is attentive. Highly recommend it.
Very trendy and nice restaurant hidden inside the DeSoto hotel in Savannah, Georgia. Love how light this place was .
We had dinner here.
Our waitress was awesome.
Simply brilliant.
Food omg, it was a delight.
It was good to the extreme.
Compliments to the cheff.
Everything was on point.
Amazing place with amazing food and even better food .
Wow — this chef provided flavor experiences we had never encountered. The combinations were interesting yet subtle. Definitely would go again. Our family in particular appreciated the warm and generously buttered bread that kicked off our meal!
Visit here for a luxury dining experience. We dined here at 5:30 on a Sunday and let me tell you, it was like having a private dining experience.
The hostess Breanna was incredibly friendly and professional. She sat us at a table by the window near a partition which aided the experience feeling private.
Our server, Kelly, was top notch. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and explained what we can expect from our dining experience. While you can certainly have a quicker meal or small bites but believe me when I say, come for the food but stay for the atmosphere and experience. Kelly explained the flavors and what to expect with each of our selections which was awesome.
The menu and food is exquisite. This isn't some run of the mill restaurant in tourist friendly Savannah. The menu showcases locally sourced ingredients prepared traditionally with a global flare.
My husband and I took wine recs from Kelly but started off with barbeque shrimp and beef tartar with cured duck egg.... I've only ever had beef tartar once before but let me just say, this beef tartar is something to behold. The presentation matters and the 1540 room scored high marks on this. For our entrees I ordered the Merguez. I love Moroccan spices so this was a win for me. The sausage was tasty and not too dry. The fried chickpeas and couscous could be a daily staple for me. My husband ordered the local catch. The fish was perfect! And the flavors will knock your socks off.
Come and give this place a try. For date night, girls night, dude night, solo "treat yo self" night. Whatever. Be open minded, patient, and be present. I would definitely go back.
Wonderful Informal dining experience from start to finish. Menu changes with the seasons and offers local ingredients. Prompt, friendly service from all including the waiter and the manager. The menu reads like a neighborhood Paris bistro...the frisée salad comes with a small poached egg and crumbled bacon. And the crispy pork belly is done so perfectly. The pork belly is cooked just long enough to render much of the fat leaving the chunks crispy on the outside yet soft and moist inside. another winner is the duck confit which is served with a local peach jam, crispy onion rings and a chewy farro risotto. Just delicious.
The wine list is great as well. I love that they offer a lot of moderately priced bottles so you don’t break the bank to have a decent wine with your meal...Just like Paris! I know how to find inexpensive wines, apparently so does the wine buyer at the 1540 room. This is casual enough to visit often yet the vibe, the decor and service justifies a special occasion event as well. Can’t wait to return.
Just Amazing, Our waitress Trishia was amazing, we were celebrating our 13th anniversary. All that we order was elegant presentation and full of flavor. Définition coming back.
This was such a delightful dining experience. Beautiful atmosphere and the food was delicious! Would definitely recommend if you’re in Savannah :-)
My husband and I want to thank Kelly - he made our experience one of a kind and was so attentive and personable to us. Literally one of the nicest people we’ve met. Even though he was at work and doing his job, he genuinely seems to love what he does and not many people do. (P.S. Kelly if you’re reading this, you wrote out potential boy & girl baby names for us (and got the staff involved too 🤭) before we knew what it was - it’s a boy! We have some nice names to pick from. Except Possum, idk who wrote that as a suggestion LMFAO)

My boyfriend and I come here often, their dinners and brunches are equally amazing! I’d like to highlight the pastas, desserts, basically everything. You really can’t go wrong here. Not to mention the restaurant itself is like something out of Chefs Table. Also the tourists somehow don’t know about this spot yet so enjoy it while you can.
Simply put, this restaurant is ON POINT! From the minute you walk in the front door, the service, quality, and professionalism is top notch! Our food was absolutely amazing, from appetizer to desert! Our waiter, Larry, was exceptional as well! You can clearly see the level of excellence the Chef & GM have for their team! I’d give 10 stars if possible!
