After spending 5 months in the desert, I finally found a place to enjoy myself when visiting home. My experience at Good Times Jazz Barr and Restaurant was exceptional...live music, awesome food and drinks, helpful staff, and relaxing atmosphere. The Cornish Hen was delicious. If you want to experience tasteful food, live music, a friendly staff, and a relaxing environment; Good Times Jazz Bar and Restaurant is the place for you.

Our first time in Savannah, we came for their Sunday Gospel Brunch. What a phenomenal place for brunch! Great service, amazing food, attention to detail, extremely clean restrooms and the entertainment/jazz singer was out of this world! Highly recommend this place!!! Made our trip!!!

Is this one of Savannah's well kept secrets? My husband and I attended the gospel brunch on Sunday. The atmosphere, the music, the service and no to mention the shrimp and grits.....absolutely wonderful. This is a classy place by the way.....thank goodness for a place like this. My husband and I go to the Jazz Corner in Hilton Head for an atmosphere such as this, but now we've found a hidden spot right here in Savannah. Now if we could just see Deas Guyz in Savannah.....my dreams will all but come true. That's a whole different story....,,.

Great place. Just what we needed in Savannah. The fact that there is a dress code is perfectly fine. I suggest you get there early since there were no tables when we got there at 8:10. We waited and came back well worth it. Thank you for bringing this gem to Savannah.

The food was delicious, we enjoyed every bite. I had the crab cakes with candied yams and mac & cheese. My fiance' had the fried catfish with Savannah red rice and fried corn. The atmosphere is nice and the servers are friendly and attentive!! We celebrated my fiance's birthday!! Will definitely go back for date night or a girl's night!!

My sisters and mom traveled from various states to enjoy a weekend in Savannah this weekend. The food and staff was outstanding and the band’s performance was wonderful. I would without a doubt recommend Good Times Jazz Barr and Restaurant to anyone interested in fine dining in the Savannah area.

Amazing cuisine. The eclectic scene synced with the smooth vibe is topped only by the accommodating service and kindred spirit of classic southern hospitality. The chargrilled oysters are the best I’ve had west of the Crescent City. Must try the savory shrimp and grits! Forget the glass...save yourself the expense and spare the amazing servers the time by starting with a bottle: I’d recommend the Riesling. Cheers!

We were delighted to hear about this place. If you miss going to Chef Joe Randall's Cooking School, you can now enjoy his excellent Southern cuisine here along with a variety of Jazz and Southern gospel music. The atmosphere is very nice and you get very generous portions for very reasonable prices.

My family and I went for lunch today and have walked away with a new "must visit" when we travel to Savannah. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the service. The food was beyond good. Catfish and grits happened to be the special for the day...oh my goodness! I have never tasted grits quite like these. We also ordered a side of macaroni and cheese, which was also good. If you have room for dessert, try the pound cake. You will be so glad you did! Kudos to the chef and entire staff. From entrance to exit, we were pleased. We returned the next day and had various versions of the Fettuccine Alfredo and The Ben Tucker Classic Burger with various desserts. Everything was phenomenal. Special thanks to Theysia for taking excellent care of us during both visits. We look forward to visiting again.

We enjoyed the Eric Jones Trio band and vocalist so much tonight. The music and low lighting were great for a beautiful atmosphere. It was my husband's birthday and we are huge foodies and prettt good cooks. One of our favorite things to do is try new food places and critique the food amongst ourselves then recreate unique dishes at home. The artichoke dip was very warm and creamy. Very good...The oysters were perfect in taste and texture. Not too firm and not too tender. I LOVED the crab and corn chowder paired with the sweet cornbread. We had a great chowder from Barbarer Jeans on St Simon Island that had an identical taste. The crab cake was ok but was much better when paired with the sauce that comes with it. We packed the cheesecake to go.But the Shrimp and Grits were a big disappointment. It is normally my husband's favorite dish but after 2 shrimp and 1spoonful of grits he could not even force himself to enjoy it. I ate 1 shrimp and 1 spoonful of grits and I think the biggest clash was the orange sauce with the ingredients in the creamy grits. Most shrimp and grits have more of a gravy on top but this was definitely more of a sauce. The sauce, shrimp and the grits lacked flavor and taste. Because of the burst of flavor in the other dishes, it truly seemed liked someone simply left out salt or onion powder or some ingredients to WAKE UP the flavor in the dish. I communicated this to the waiter who then went to get a supervisor of some sort, in a red shirt to have me tell her. I told her in great detail and she nodded, asked if I wanted something else off the menu and I told her I could add another dessert. She gave me a dessert menu and walked away. Then sent the waiter back to tell me the dish looked half eaten so she was not taking it off the menu. 1. The dish was not half eaten. The majority of the dish was untouched less 3 shrimp and 2 spoons of grits. 2.I never asked for it to be taken off 3. Why ask if I want to get something else and then send the waiter back with a different message? I was honestly amused by the unprofessionalism....Our waiter was great, we added dessert, enjoyed the rest of the bands set, tipped our waiter well and paid the ticket In full.

Listen, I found this black owned establishment in Savannah that knows how to cook. The atmosphere of this place is really beautiful. The server that had was very knowledgeable about the food and drinks. They have live jazz music that starts at 8pm, trust me you won’t be disappointed. Everything that I put in my mouth was absolutely delicious and the portions size was more that enough. I highly recommend this place , it will be one my stop every time I visit the area.

I have nothing bad that I can say, the whole experience was definitely a positive one. From the moment we were met at the door and seated, to the waiter and the food. Everything ordered arrived promptly and was delicious. The live band topped everything off and was an unforgettable experience.
