First time down here and your restaurant did NOT disappoint! Best fried chicken I’ve ever had! Tried your fried orca n fried green tomatoes. Yummy Not a fan of grits but tried my friends plate ‘shrimp n grits’. Now I’m having it for breakfast lol. Also loved your desert! Key lime pie, banana pudding, and ooey gooey butter cake. You had to roll me out of thereBut after a walk through ur cute store I was able to button my pantsConta (spelling) was our waiter n I wanted to give him a great big thank you for his friendly n attentive service. Definitely will be back

Excellent food excellent people..definitely recommend definitely a come back ❤️❤️❤️
We wanted to try this famous resturant for ourselves. We enjoyed the $16 lunch buffet: fried chicken, pulled pork, collard greens, black eyed peas, biscuits, peach cobbler, green beans, and of course mac & cheese. All were good, except for the flavorless black eyed peas, unfortunately. The service was excellent. The interior clean, but very loud. We would return, but not hurriedly.
I was really looking forward to eating here. The service was very slow. We came in on a Wednesday evening. The food was great tasting. It was not the experience I thought it would be... The bathrooms really need cleaned too. I would probaly not go again, but am glad I tasted the food.
Great southern food. Went twice while on our trip to Savannah. For our first visit I got the buffet. It had lots to choose from. It changes daily so might want to look at what they have before you decide to get it. I tried the chicken, bbq, green beans, corn pudding, mashed potatoes, and the Mac n cheese. All has great flavor. The fired chicken and the mashed potatoes was the best. There was more to choose from but couldn’t eat all they had to choose from. The buffet included a dessert so I chose the ooey gooey butter cake. It was great! I also enjoyed the biscuits. The second time I want, I ordered the shrimp and grits. It’s huge! I should have split it with someone. Couldn’t eat it all. The wait staff was friendly and polite. Would go back to eat there again.
GREAT CHICKEN POT PIE
My wife and I stopped for lunch. We each ordered a chicken pot pie and a piece of fried chicken. The pot pie was served in an earthen bowl with a creamy chicken filling and a lattice crust. It was served piping hot. The pieces of chicken we had were meaty and crisp. Service was prompt and friendly staff
Visited here on May 16th with a group of eight. Three chose to eat off them menu; the rest indulged in the buffet. No complaints from anyone. The favorites were the fried chicken and ooey gooey butter cake.
Visited while working in Savannah. Had to get takeout from the buffet for dinner, the wait was too long, in fact you have to visit the restaurant the morning of the day that you want to dine there and place your name on the list. The restaurant is located On a corner downtown Savannah. The decor is average, warehouse type location with an outside awning. Tight seating, an elevator for second floor seating, Views of downtown through many windows. The taste of the food was delicious, set up buffet style. Southern food at its best. The price was reasonable & the staff were efficient.

Had buffet no lines no wait
Service was kinda slow and awkward
Chicken and sides were very yummy
Loved the bread
Menu was sad
Friends that ordered off menu were disappointed
We ordered off the menu instead of getting the buffet, and it was excellent! We had the fresh seafood dinner and the chicken pot pie, and both were great. I would definitely recommend trying something from the menu!
I was in a huge hurry (thanks to the 30 minute parking meters) so grabbed the buffet for lunch. It's OK but I wouldn't go out of my way for it a second time. Glad I went though. The fried chicken is decent but not nearly close to being great. It is priced well and they move a lot of people through there so kudos to them for keeping it all running smoothly.
We waited about 30 mins for a table but in a good company time flies fast.
Crowds are huge so be prepared for that.
Thanks to my friends I was able to try different dishes. Fried okra, fried chicken, crab stew (very intense and delicious), chicken pot pie. They serve everybody cornbread and butter roll(?). Everything tasted very good. That was my first experience with American-sourthern food. It was sooooo good. I ate so much I thought I'm gonna die. But I had to try Pecan pie and I wasn't disappointed. Everything was good and tasty especially for someone like me - from The Old World who doesn't see such dishes everyday ;) Definitely worth visiting!
Lady and sons was good! Had the buffet line fried chicken! Very delicious! I do however think it was a little overpriced. I have had better chicken elsewhere!
A buffet style dinner with a large selection of foods that were all fantastic. The sweet tea,
fried chicken, mac and cheese and fresh vegetables were all excellent. The ribs were a bit over cooked but that is to be expected on a buffet. Great selection of desserts also. We went with a large group and I would definitely recommend this restaurant (as would the group).
Great service and food. Good 'ol southern cooking. Good selection off buffet. Tasty desserts. Little pricey but otherwise great. Must visit at least once.
Disappointed. We've been coming to Savannah for the past 6 years. The Lady and Sons has always been a favorite stop. This year, unfortunately, was an exception. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a nice young lady who placed us on the list and told us it would be about an hour's wait. We asked what was on the buffet and were told ribs, baked chicken, fried chicken, and numerous vegetables. We were looking forward to the delicious entrees. We browsed around the shop and waited until our table was ready. Once seated, it took nearly 15 minutes for a server to arrive at our table. We proceeded to order our drinks and buffets and to our surprise when we got to the buffet, the selection on the 3rd floor was different than what we had seen and been told on the 1st floor. When we asked our server, he said the menu had changed. We had our hearts set on ribs and baked chicken, so he tried to locate some. He came back with the last few pieces of dry chicken leftover from lunch, but told us there were no ribs available. We ended up eating a piece of fried chicken and some sort of red meat covered in gravy. Not at all what we wanted or expected. A very expensive and disappointing meal. Doubt we will be back on our next trip.
Not sure where all the neg reviews are coming from. I stopped in on sat for lunch on a whim got seated at a bar seat and had the buffet. Food was good and price was fair for all you caneat buffet. Goog southern food like your granma would make for Sunday lunch. Moved to NE many years ago from south and the fried chicken and pecan pie brought back memories of granma service and staff were great.
If you like southern food then you'll like it. If you don't like rich food (greasy cornbread, etc) then there are still decent options on the menu.....crab cake and salmon are examples.
Yum!. Seriously fast for a couple of days before eating here - especially if you get the buffet.
The buffet was great - I only did one trip and was stuffed. We took our dessert to go and it was fabulous as well chocolate chip gooey cake and peach cobbler.
The winners were the Sweet Iced Tea with Mint, Hoe Cakes and Fried Chicken! If I had the room I would have had another piece of chicken.
People around us had three and four trips to the buffet - I don't know how they did it!
I Love You Paula Deen!. Since there were just two of us, we had made reservations online two days before and we were promptly sat on the third floor and were told the specials and about the buffet and other options.
We decided on the buffet and we were greeted by steaming hot pans of Fried Chicken, Beef Stew, Mac and Cheese, Sweet Potatoes, Corn Casserole, Rice, Black-Eyed Peas, Mashed Potatoes, and a small salad bar. Everything we tried was very good and very fresh. There was even some "butter y'all" available to those who wanted it! The Sweet Tea was amazing and the dessert that comes with the buffet was so good.
Take my word for it, if you ever visit Savannah, you owe it to yourself to eat at Lady and Sons! My favorite meal of our trip!
Half and Half. We went to the Lady and Sons while in Savannah this past weekend. I made our reservation online a few weeks ago which was nice since last visit we had to stand outside in the rain early in the morning for hours to get on the list. The online reservation is a big improvement. We arrived on time for our reservation and were immediately seated. Since it was a Sunday, they only were serving the buffet. I started out with some Iced Tea which was very good. It was served with lemon and mint which was so refreshing. We were each served a biscuit and a cornbread patty. Both were very good. I really enjoyed the fried chicken, mashed potatoes and the black eyed peas. But the rice and the corn on the cob were both so watery that they were disintegrating. I like my corn on the cob crisp. The rice was mush. Also, the green beans were not cooked down and southern style. They were bright green and tasted like they could have cooked another hour. Our waiter was very polite and was always there with a drink refill. We both had peach cobbler for dessert and it was absolutely delicious. I really think one of the Deens needs to be on site at all times to make sure that sub par food is not put on the steam table. As a bonus, they did give us a coupon to try Uncle Bubba's Oyster House. I may give Lady and Sons another try next time I am in Savannah, but if improvements aren't made, I won't be back.
Very good food - very good service - large portions from menu items and buffet was full of great tasting items with plenty of variety.
We did the lunch buffet for our New Years Day dinner and it did not disappoint. :) service was wonderful and the food was also very good if you like southern cooking. I'm not sure why many people did not have a good experience, but we definitely did!!
No regrets on my experience. Had buffet at lunch. Fried chicken, mashed potatoes, blackeyed peas, beef stroganoff and mac/cheese. Only disappointment was cheese on mac/cheese was very mild. Wife had chicken pot pie which she said was great
Terrific buffet! Yes, I would highly recommend Paula's restaurant to anyone passing through Savannah!
Had the shrimp and grits. In a word - awesome. Others had the buffet. The buffet might best be described as typical southern cuisine. The buffet selection was limited but good. The decor was bland. Wait staff was helpful, friendly and enthusiastic. All in all a very pleasurable experience.
We ate The Sunday Buffet. We were very impressed everything! Hands Down the best fried chicken I have ever had!!
We had the Sunday Brunch. For a buffet it was very good. Very nice staff and excellent dessert finish. This is a tourist location, the staff moves the food and gives great service. For those that have given bad reviews I ask what did you want. This is as good as it gets. If you want 5 star eat someplace else. Total bill 32.00.
Charming. Not for the health conscious, but definitely worth a visit just for the southern hospitality of the staff alone. I wouldn't recommend the buffet as the menu offers a much greater variety. It's a tasty experience, as long as you run a 10K the next day.
People who gave this place bad reviews must've waited in the sun for too long and thought that Ms. Paula Deen herself was gonna fix up a mess of something for them. I can't vouch for à la carte items, as we opted for the buffet.
We got there when they opened and were seated promptly. The restaurant started filling up quickly with all walks of people, even though it was a Thursday. The service was a little slow, but not annoyingly slow. We did receive the amazing biscuits and Johnny cakes immediately, though!
The buffet was spotless and all of the food was clearly freshly made. The food itself was appropriately seasoned for a buffet, maybe even slightly salty for anyone watching their sodium. Some items did contain butter, but nothing was floating in it.
The collards were very fresh and perfectly cooked, not flaccid or canned. The beans were equally cooked to perfection and perfectly seasoned. The Mac and cheese looked and tasted homemade. The mashed potatoes were not boxed, either. They actually tasted like potatoes. My only complaint is that the fried chicken could've used some spices. It wasn't bland, but I do prefer more spices. The sweet tea was spot on and came with mint, which was a welcome surprise. Dessert does come in very small bowls, but you really shouldn't have much room left for dessert anyway. Plus, if everyone got served large portions, imagine the waste.
Was this the best food I've ever had? No. Could my grandma do better? Of course. Would I recommend this restaurant and even go back myself? ABSOLUTELY.
Order from the menu. I ordered the chicken pot pie....fluffy and delicate crust with plenty of tender chicken. I looked over the buffet. Hey, it's the south, I've from the south...the buffet isn't any different from any other truck stop buffet.
For a truly memorable experience, order from the menu.
Awesome. Food is great and hospitality is wonderful. You will leave with a smile and a full tummy
A good time. Had a good time at Lady and Sons. The food was good for most part but the service was excellent and experience. I would recommend Lady and Sons just for the experience alone. The biscuits for great and the food for the most part was good, some of it was a little salty for my taste. I would go back when we have family or friends in town that want to go just for the experience.
No words but AMAZING ! Best soul food in all of savannah . People were so nice , the place was so organized and the good was amazing . I ate so much I thought I was gonna explode ! The lemonade was really good and the chicken don't get me started ! Was the best fried chicken I ever had ! Definitely worth ever penny !
It was a great place to go even though we had to make reservations 2 months in advance. Go upstairs if you want something quieter, downstairs can get loud. Love, love, loved the chicken pot pie. Her desserts are great too. Bartender came to our table to make sure our drinks were good. Overall, great experience
This is a resturant for northerners !! From Canada it was a wonderful stop for us to stop and have good southern soul good! Wonderful service piping hot food! The big eaters in our party were stuffed with one helping of the buffet!
Lovee it! Grouper and peach BBQ was amazing and chicken pot pie was huge! Love paula deen! Didn't have a reservation but no wait at all! Great service too!
First rule is to get a reservation. The buffet was good for $15 with desert. Good soul food. Not sure all the complaints are. The service was great and the food was good.
We enjoyed the food at The Lady & Sons restaurant so much that we dined there twice during our visit to Savannah. Food is served family style, and one may have more of whatever you would like. The first time we were seated downstairs. We enjoyed the fried chicken which took me back to my youth because it tasted so much like the chicken my grandfather made. We also enjoyed the pulled pot roast which was similar to one my husband makes. The mac & cheese was good, and poppy seed salad was tasty too. But the candied yams were so delicious that it was like eating dessert with our meal. The peach cobbler was the perfect end to an excellent meal. The second time we were seated upstairs. We tried the baked chicken which was tasty and moist, and my husband enjoyed the fried catfish. We had three of the same sides again because we enjoyed them so much and hubby had corn on the cob instead of green beans. For dessert I tried the chocolate butter cake. Unfortunately, it was dry and hard on top, and I abandoned it after a couple bites. I should have had the peach cobbler again like my husband did. Our server offered to get me another dessert to go but I declined. Candied yams served as my dessert that night.
Really glad we stopped here for late lunch. It’s family style but unlimited. The fried chicken was amazing along with mac and cheese. The pulled bbq pork was very tender and well seasoned. Our party of 6 left super satisfied while the bill was reasonable. It also includes desert for each person.
Sitting here now eating some delicious chicken and catfish, with home tasting side dishes. Service (Willie) has been on point watching our table and bringing more dishes out to table! I would strongly recommend trying this restaurant if you get the chance!
Lady and Sons was a highly anticipated restaurant on our trip, and it was good. 3.8 (rounded up)
Food: served family style (meaning a big bowl of whatever you order and you take what you want and pass it around.) The chicken was the best from the trip by far and was done perfectly and nicely seasoned. The porkchops were really good but thin. The brisket was a sweet version, so if you prefer a smokey brisket, this one would not be for you. All the sides were pretty good, I prefer a creamier Mac and cheese though, version was a more dry version. The rolls were fantastic.
All food came in hot bowls, but the food itself was just warm.
Dessert was also good overall, the banana pudding being the highlight, while the peach cobbler is forgettable.
Atmosphere: Really pretty generic and plain feeling, but the hand painted walls were super cute. There was a ton of attention and care put unto the gift shop, however. The bathrooms were, simply put, gross. You could smell them when you rounded the corner to the room of pictures with Paula, without even going in.
Service: Our waitress was nice and repeated everything at both ends of the table to make sure everything was heard.
Random note: the iron skillet doors to the gift shop were really an awesome feature.
We are on a girl's trip in Savannah and stopped in here for a late lunch on a Friday afternoon. The Savannah Lemonade was really tasty, and the food was flavorful. They served it family style, and we enjoyed the beef pot roast and broccoli casserole the most. Of the three desserts offered, the butter cake was by far the best! I can't forget to relay how incredibly tasty the cheesy garlic biscuits were!
Unfortunately, we were seated on the third floor, which felt a bit like the space was outdated and tucked away. The service was friendly but straightforward.
The food was good and worth the price. I recommend the fried chicken, candied yams, and mac and cheese. Avoid the chicken and dumplings. The place itself is a little worn down but nonetheless definitely worth the experience.

This has always been a place I have wanted to go to for more than 20 years. My husband and I had a wonderful waitress Zipporah she went by ( Zippy ) on the 3 floor .
She explained how the menu worked. She was amazing with service.
The food was amazing. It was seasoned perfectly for us. First time ever in a restaurant we didn't have to add salt and pepper to our food.
I highly recommend giving it a try.
Will definitely eat here again if I get back to Savannah Ga again.
I loved the concept of family shared dishes. The sides we had were really good, the fried pork chops and chicken were also delicious, however I did notice that some chicken pieces had a weird smell towards the end.
The service was also great but the hostess aren’t welcoming.
Overall, we still enjoyed our experience.
We had a great time at this restaurant in Savannah, GA! I had been wanting to visit for such a long time, and I was so excited. This restaurant is so big, there's an elevator for you to get the floor your table is on. Our meal was amazing, and our service was great as well. This restaurant definitely didn't disappoint! Don't skip the dessert. I suggest the butter cake 😋
Food was very good! Wait was about 15 minutes at 3pm on a Thursday. We had the rolls (HOLY COW. They were great), fried chicken, fried catfish and four sides: baked mac and cheese, fried okra, candied yams (had cloves or allspice or something in it and it was GREAT) and broccoli casserole. If I had it to do over, I think I'd skip the fried chicken or fried fish and try the roast. It looked delicious! Service was okay. Our waitress was nice, but we didn't have good cell service in the building and almost missed our text. Wish they just had the buzzers some restaurants give out to let you know when your table is ready.
Just a note: This is the only meal we ate Thursday. We skipped breakfast and were too full to eat dinner. It really is a good deal for your money even though $20-$30/plate may seem high (You can get "seconds" on things! No to go boxes, but they will let you take your dessert to go 😊).
Highlights: rolls, candied yams, sweet tea
Lackluster: check in process and being told one person had to order for everyone (Felt weird and a little...idk patriarchal. We probably would have ordered like that anyway, but when the waitress said it, I think it freaked my mom out because she defaulted to me to order. 😅)
The food was good especially the sides 😍 but I will give it 4 because the chicken wasn’t cooked enough. I had for sides ( fried okra, creamed potatoes, creamed corn and mac and cheese). Also, I was disappointed when I learn that I can NOT take my leftover food.
We had an incredible lunch! It’s all served family style. You choose how many entrees you want. We chose 3 and it comes with 4 sides. We were a party of 4. The fried chicken and the pot roast were the stand outs! Pulled pork was really good too. We loved the sides we chose, candied yams, salad , corn and Mac and cheese. The biscuits they served to start were incredible!! Delicious bloody Mary’s too!
Delicious Thanksgiving lunch. Service was quick, attentive & gracious. We meant to take pics before we drove in but it looked so good we almost forgot. Turkey, dressing, green beans & yams were the absolute best.
If you are a fan of Paula Deen, then you will like this place. Good old southern cooking with lots and lots of butter (just kidding), but probably lots of butter.
Food was good and service was great.
The experience is you can pick certain entrees and sides and they will keep bringing them to you.
You can choose to eat dessert there or bring it home.
We also toured the restaurant, there are a few things to see up stairs and there is a gift shop for all things Paula Deen.
This is Paula Dean's signature restaurant in Savannah, GA.
Of course the southern style food was DELICIOUS!
When you order, for example, chicken and mash potatoes - it is for your entire party (in our case my wife and I). The food is brought out in bowls / plates and you share or pass the food around just like at home. And when you want more of it - just ask and they bring you another bowl.
No, we did not leave room for desert, but we ate it anyways. Of course it was good,
Will absolutely eat there again. And either before or after eating, shop at the connected store for cooking related things.
OMG! It's all the hype. The portions, the flavor, the price and above all...the southern hospitality is EVERYTHING! Definitely the highlight of our visit to Savannah. From the moment we entered the store to the time we indulged in dessert - no disappointments! I can't say enough about this experience. Thank you Antney for your hospitality and welcoming. Next time we're in Savannah, we will definitely take a seat at your table. Deen family - you did a great thing! There are no sufficient words for what our palates experienced.
The food was delicious as always. Demetria was our waitress. She was absolutely fantastic. She made the meal for my wife and I a pleasant experience. We drive a truck cross country and eat out 80% of the year, these days service and attitude are particularly lacking. You have an asset in Demetria.
The food was spectacular. Not hardly any wait time...3 minutes and they were busy. We had fried chicken, chicken and dumplings, green beans, creamed potatoes, corn on the cob, and broccoli casserole. For the two of us that was more than we could eat. For dessert we had banana pudding and preach cobbler. Nothing was a disappointment. If I could have eaten more I probably would have. Superb job folks!! Give Demetria a raise.
