I visited the store, bought cookies and sampled several different flavors.
Unfortunately, the cookies were a bit too sweet for my taste.
This Byrd’s store is located in the east side of River street. Cookies are perfect if you like crunchy cookies. I loved the scotch oatmeal ones. There is a free sample cookie bar where you can have a little taste of everything before you buy. There are even gluten-free cookies!
The price is ok, and the customer service was excellent and friendly.
Really neat shop. I’ve had these cookies before but never gone to a shop of theirs before. The staff had no problem with allowing me a few free samples (at the counter) even though we didn’t end up buying any at this location. Their non cookie products are just as fun and interesting as their cookies are. As an aside, the staff member shared with some other customers that Byrd’s is the company who makes all of Disney’s rice crispy treat items for them, so if you’ve enjoyed this before at a Disney park, you know what to grab here if nothing else.
Cute cookie store that offers samples of all the flavors! My kids and I sampled pink lemonade, chocolate chip cookie, Georgia peach flavors. Very sweet, but we can imagine they'd go well with tea and milk! Our family ended up buying a bunch of flavors. They have fun shaped rice crispy treats that our kids couldn't resist. Bear shaped, donut shaped, etc.
This place is awesome! Highly recommend it! We tried several flavors and they were all delicious. The original Scotch Oatmeal is amazing. Georgia Peach and pink lemonade are also very good. We did not have a bad cookie. Friendly staff as well.
Such a cute and vintage cookie shop! We were greeted as soon as we walked in. They have tons of souvenirs and a wide variety of cookie flavors. There’s a sampling counter in the back where you can try all the flavors you want to before buying! The staff were extremely welcoming and encouraged us to try all the flavors we wanted. We ended up buying four bags of cookies because they were so good!
I visited Savannah 8/19 thru 8/22. I had a sweet-tooth as I scanned the River walk when all of a sudden I spotted Byrd’s Famous Cookies! It’s definitely historical! Since 1924 Byrds have been baking assorted cookies! They even have a “cookie sample “ section in the back. So you can try a cookie or two before you purchase to see if it’s to your liking! They sell cookie cans, bags of cookies, you can even create a bag and make your own cookie bag! Service was outstanding! One employee shared with me the history of the store! Amazing staff. Very helpful, friendly and informative. Only came in to look around but the employee helping us out was amazing. He literally sold me on the cookies. Greeted us right at the door. Offered plenty of samples to try. Needless to say, I walked out with some cookies. Great place and amazing cookies. Highly recommend 👌
The cookies here are so delicious. I reccomend the peach and lemon ones for sure. I love that you are able to pick the types you want to fill a box. The cookies are mini, but that just means you can eat one of each flavor! The decor and boxes were cute and they had a decent sized variety of cookie flavors. They also sell crackers, but I didn't purchase any of those. I highly reccomend this store.
There is a counter near the entrance where you can taste the cookies before purchasing. Absolutely loved the lemon coolers. There were prepackaged cookie tins with 8 oz cookies of a couple of varieties for $9.95. The large cookie tins can be purchased separately and filled with 2 bags of your favorite cookies. Smaller boxes packages available for $ 2.95. Service is wonderful.

One cannot stroll down River Street without dropping in to sample some of these amazing cookies. While vacationing in Savannah, I made sure a visit to Byrd's was checked off my to-do list. The employees were extremely friendly and helpful. There was no shortage in cookies to sample. I brought back the Georgia Peach and Triple Chocolate, and while both received rave reviews, my colleagues at the office could not stop eating or talking about the former. Many stated how they did not like peaches, but loved the Georgia Peach cookies. They are bite-sized and perfect in every way!
The Lemon Coolers are delicious! Grab yourself a sample and purchase some for home.
A major cookie store with a gluten-free variety! And they were delicious! The chocolate chip and key lime cookies are wonderful.
For people with less dietary restrictions, Byrd’s has a large variety and offers samples.
We backtracked twice to go to this shop and it was well worth the trip!
Really great collection of cookies. I’d recommend the triple chocolate flavour. You’ve free samples everyday, so you can try them out onsite. The staff were friendly and I’d recommend this place if you want to buy some tasty cookies.
