My husband and I love Indian and this place was great! The food was authentic and fresh! I got the chicken tikki masala and was delicious! My husband got goat curry and was very good as well. His was more spicy but not too hot. Service and atmosphere was wonderful! Great place
Best of South. I work in a gulf-stream, i travel around the world and love ethnic food i wanted to give a try to Taste of India, i was there last Sunday and they were pack, we were group of four people the host told us it will be 10 min waiting so he offered some Indian beer we enjoyed that on outside patio, i have ate lamb chops recommended by the server, the best dish ever i am in love with Taste of India my other pals loved a lot. i decide i will visit Taste of India every time i come to Savannah. best service and decoration.
Food was awesome especially fish curry but service was horrible
A Giant Delicious Bite of India!!. My fiance and I just had the pleasure of eating here and I must say...I have a new favorite place to dine in Savannah! Our waiter was incredibly nice and informative. He steered me toward a delicious coconut based shrimp gravy with spinach and basmati rice. It was absolutely spectacular. My fiance got the Tandori Mix and pretty much spent the entire meal mumbling "...Oh man this is so good..." between massive bites! When our food came out, so did the freshly baked Naan bread drizzled with soy butter that was just simply divine! I'm currently so incredibly full, I'm sure that Naan and basmati rice are both expanding simultaneously as I type this, but the food is so fresh and delicious and light that I don't feel weighed down at all. As a dessert, we decided to share a mango lassi which was the perfect and most delicious way to end a meal. I highly suggest this restaurant to anyone who enjoys quality food, flavor and service.
This is a great place to eat and try an indian food experience. The food and the service is great. I really enjoyed it. I would recommend Taste of India. I hate eating at places where service is not good, here I felt like a royal Indian :)
Simply Divine Jeeru Chicken & Lamb Vindaloo. We haven't liveed in Savannah for over eleven years now, but Taste of India is still our favorite Indian restaurant. The service is heart-felt, and the food is full of wonderful flavor. Their ingedients are always fresh and the experience very consistent. Would highly recommend to get off the River and head out towards the Mall one night for a great, reasonably priced dinner.
Great offerings!. An Indian friend suggested Taste of India as the better ofthe two Indian restaurants in The Hostess City. She was dead on! FIrst, the menu is rather large and offers many items you simply can not find at most Indian joints One page of breads alone, lots of breads. I stuck with the plain nann which was very thin and not heavy, a great vehicle to pickup your food. My main was the goat (bone in) and spinich. Fantastic! WHole cardamon seeds, great flavor, an the perfect portion. This is a must dine if you seek Indian food here.
Good Find. Friendly staff, great service and a wide variety of excellent food. I was impressed that they honored my request for mild seasoning and for "as little oil as possible." All around great experience. I would go back.
Great find!. The Palak paneer was excellent. Tandoori chicken was tender and tasty. Raita,Naan, and Paratha were good. The rice was delicious. The waiter was very patient and helpful. He explained everything we had questions about and steered us toward a nice desert(gulab jamun) we wouldnt have tried otherwise. I think we were the only ones at the restaurant at 8pm on Thursday. The prices are very reasonable. Our bill was only $42 for 2 beers, 2 orders of bread, 1 Raita, 2 main dishes, and a shared desert. We had enough left over for another meal for both of us. I cant wait to return for the lunch buffet so I can try more dishes! They have a nice vegetarian selection.
*Only one negative to share. The shrimp in the Tandoori mix smelled foul and we did NOT eat it, I think it might have gone bad. I would steer clear of the shrimp just to be on the safe side.
Wonderful food and service. This is our favorite 'special occasion' restaurant! Food is always great!! And the service has always been just fine! We tend to get there between 5-6 so we've never been disappointed with the service. Perhaps they get much busier later in the evenng. But the staff has always been very accommodating and takes an interest in pleasing their customers.
If the place was in our neighborhood, we would probably eat there once a week! Prices are very reasonable and portions are plenty.... we always have food to take home.
The food was super yummy. However the service was Horriable. If the food wasn't so awesome I wouldn't come back but the food absolutely kicks it out of the park.

Classic Indian. Pretty standard pricing for Indian food (we end up spending 50 bucks or so every time we go, but we get a little carried away). Food is excellent. Try every bread they have - it's all wonderful. We tend to go there on special occasions - valentine's day or anniversaries.

The most authentic Indian food I've ever had. Great atmosphere!!!! Must try their lunch buffet. They also do take out...a guilty pleasure for my husband and I on Saturday nights after the kids are asleep :) We LOVE this place!!!!!!
Quiet, plenty of parking space. Diligent service, the waitress checked in regularly. The furniture decor does scream India. Huge, organized menu and well sectioned. Plenty of space between tables. Food was savory, the chef can cater spiciness to order ( huge ++). Try the Naan (bread) sampler baskets. The items in the menu have a good description of what you're getting. We had lamb, it was tender my GF's was same. So they are consistent. Decent drink menu.
What a delightful and authentic meal. Decided to dine here with a friend. We both shared a goat and lamb meal, ordered it spicy. It certainly had a kick to it, and boy was it flavorful. We also tried the chicken samosa, along with the calamari as appetizers. The mozzarella naan bread was delicious as well. We certainly had more than we could eat, and leftover containers were needed for the door. Our server was new, but was informative about questions we had. Very friendly, and prompt. I will definitely have to come back on my next visit to Savannah.
The food is spectacular here. My husband and I have visited several times and the food is consistently delicious. Reasonably priced for what you receive. Servers are always friendly. Expect spending about an hour when dining here.
My overall experience was good. The bartender was friendly, and the atmosphere was inviting, but the food was a little bland. I will definitely go back when I return to Savannah, but try a dish I didn't get this time.

Friendly people, the owners are awesome. Went to restaurant while it was close but still they let us in to order from bar and eat in their restaurant because we had kids along. π
Outstanding Service, Delicious Food, and down to earth waiter, waitresses, and the owner Mr. Singh!
The restaurant has a pleasant and utterly unhurried ambience!
I was dumbfounded by reading one of the reviews about the waiter. I was glad that I didn't judge the restaurant based on one bad review, and decided to eat there. We were served by the same waiter. He was very polite, and he had a great sense of humor. My husband and I really enjoyed the entire staff, especially the young lady who went an extra mile whenever we had any questions about any of the items. We made many trips to enjoy "Authentic Indian Food" during our stay in Savannah, Georgia.
After a somewhat up and down past Taste of India is back on our regular rotation. My husband and I have been coming to Taste of India (on and off) for years. Things started off great, then went downhill for a while (we stopped going for a couple years because of the decline) and now it is way better again. The excellence in food and service has returned. We always look for Ricky when we arrive - he indulges our sometimes unusual requests and keeps everything on track with our meal and drinks - (and he does so in a pleasant and efficient manner). Since returning I've been impressed with whatever dish I order. Any time I try something new (generally after asking Ricky to recommend something) I find it's something new to love. Currently Taste of India is our go to for Indian food and we recommend it to our friends. Be sure to ask for Ricky! You won't be disappointed!
The Chef at Taste of India is absolutely fantastic - to work with and the dishes he makes. Not only did they take a large catering order with barely any notice, he offered great suggestions, explained everything, delivered it perfectly and even set it up for us. Everything about the entire experience from customer service to the actual food itself was fantastic - I could only wish we saw more of this in the service industry. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Indian food is my favorite, this was our first time here and it did not disappoint! The cream cheese and garlic Naan was amazing paired with the mixed pickle. My only problem was trying to decide what to get as everything sounded so good! This is absolutely our new favorite spot!
Our last meal there last night what excellent and the ambience great. The chef did a great job of Indian cuisine and the new arrangements in decor improve the ambience. The problem has always been consistency. Hopefully the current chef will remain. Sometimes the entire scene is bad and sometimes excellent. Consistency seems to be lacking up to this point but on our last visit we were pleasantly surprised. We had debated whether to go there or not due to a disappointing prior experience but we're really glad that we did go once again.
I made an order through Uber Eats late on a Sunday and the Uber driver left half the order at the restaurant. I called the restaurant to figure out what happened and they actually had their own worker deliver the rest of the items. They were so kind and helpful. This is the second time Iβve gotten food from here and they were excellent both times! Highly recommend! Great food and great customer service. Will definitely be back.
The food here is great. Best Indian cuisine Iβve had within 200 miles. The owners came out and greeted us and the staff is very polite and friendly. They also have a late night bar with live music on weekends. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great and fun experience π
My family and I love this place. It's kid-friendly, the food is delicious, the atmosphere is cozy, and it's the most authentic Indian that we've found in the Savannah area. They're great about changing the level of spicy in the dishes too, to fit your palate. Highly, highly recommend!
Food eaten there was good last time I sat to eat. The place is clean and spacious. I like the decor. The menu offers many varieties of ways to eat my favorite poultry/ white meats. Last time I ordered out the bread was burnt a bit, but ok. Another customer paid for my sister and I, so this place has nice customers. Thank you.
