Working with Meggan and her team at Rum Runners Bakery was a great experience. We traveled around Savannah making cake tasting appointments, but had a very difficult time finding a cake we liked for the budget we had. Upon our first meeting, Meggan worked with us to figure out a budget-friendly cake option and went through a great cake tasting experience. (She even let us take home a little extra to let our family try it!)
The cake we chose was the Italian wedding cake with hints of pecans and coconut with cream cheese frosting. It was so delicious! On the day of the wedding, we had our florist bring in flowers for the cake, and together they added them to the cake beautifully. The cake was three tiers but the bottom was actually not cake, but decorated as if it was! Then we used sheet cake to distribute to our guests. I highly recommend this option for those on a budget. It worked out great. We were extremely happy with the cake and received many compliments.

I had for whatever reason a really hard time finding a cake for my April wedding . After going through nearly ten bakeries in Jacksonville . Rum Runners came to the rescue! Firstly they agreed to do a cake tasting on a Saturday to accommodate my husbands work schedule which is rare is bakeryland. Most places only do tastings in the middle of the week at random times . But rum runners was so flexible! When we got there they spend an hour drawing out cake designs wih my husband who is very particular ! My bridemaid and I just sat back and enjoyed all the samples which were amazing!!! The almond was hands down the absoutle best and ended up being the base of our cake. They also have an amazing gluten free vegan choclate cake for those with allergies. Overall You can't go wrong with rum runners there were friendly , professional, and the cakes are as beautiful as they are tasty. I highly recomend them !

Best Cakes and deserts, I have ever tasted, to a known picky individual! I suggest any couple who wants a custom cake to test around, I did, however the price was shocking for two upscaled cakes... lower than one plain cake at other local vendors and worth every penny for all the upgrades added which were unavailable anywhere else due to our time sensitive issue... (not our fault). I can say this issue tuned into a blessing!!!
The staff are wonderful and able to make our wedding cakes in a limited time to perfection. They also delivered, setup, and adding the finishing decor, perfectly selected, from a onetime consultation.
I was unable to see them deliver the cakes until I watched the video. My nerves decreased significantly when I laid eyes on the cakes.
The cake flavors are all great and unique we selected a separate cake for each tear on both, wedding and grooms, cakes as well as different icing; I also requested the color of the cake mix so when we cut the cakes our wedding colors were reviled.
Out of all the great selections, my favorites were both, the peach cake with buttercream icing and lemon cake with blueberry icing, we also had one rum cake and a layer of chocolate cake everything tasted great!
To make the cakes I wanted they had to use fondant over the icing on the cakes, worried about the taste… it was the best fondant I have ever tasted!

The Wedding being outside in the summer, the cakes held up through the cutting ceremony; just remember to keep it inside until cutting. My mother in law and both my husband and, had our aunts bring the cake out to the tent a little too early, we did not get to them until, give or take, 45 min and they were still perfect!

I absolutely recommend this place to anyone visiting Savannah, or getting married there. I sent an inspiration photo to Meggen, and what she made was spot on. Not only that, but the grooms cake was so perfect! I only had 2 bites of the red velvet/cream cheese tier of our cake and it was delicious. We will definitely be going back for our 1 year anniversary and getting some tasty cake while we're there!

Rum infused French Toast. It was some of the best I had! It was a great stop for a quick lite breakfast.
Easy stroll from Forsyth Park! Great sandwiches and amazing baked goods! Also, the inside decor is fun and paired well with the outdoor private patio!
Loved it! Great food and great people! I highly recommend the Hummingbird cake.
The Cruffins are amazing, my favorite! We also had the Mississippi Mud Brownie and Regular Brownie. Both was excellent! I normally don't like Rum Cake, but this one was very good. Dog friendly, great service, and very friendly owner. I felt like a friend as soon as I walked through the door.
Delicious rum cakes that come in all sizes! The staff were all super friendly and accommodating, and they also brew Perc Coffee! They make beautiful custom cakes for weddings, birthdays, and other special occasions too!

I recommend them as being number one in cake making and the taste is outstanding even with fondant icing. We had almost every flavor in our cake layers!
They made my wedding cake and groom's cake exactly the way I wanted them, better than I imagined, and they delivered both cakes in perfect condition. Not to mention our wedding was about an hour drive. Also we got our one year anniversary cake made fresh as they provide this service thank Rum Runners for no need to eat a year old frozen 🎂!
All their goodies made within the cafe are well worth return visits too!

I used Savannah Rum Runners to do a Georgia-themed groom's cake for our rehearsal dinner. It was absolutely amazing. All of our guests thought UGA (the dog) was the cutest. They also enjoyed the cake. SRR staff were very friendly and kind! I would definitely order from them again!
Meggan with Rum Runners Bakery did our wedding cake, and it turned out beautiful! We ordered a hummingbird cake with cream cheese icing, and in addition to the cake looking amazing, it was DELICIOUS! Very most and "fresh", unlike most wedding cakes I have tasted. The whole process from our cake tasting to setup and delivery at the reception site was professional and smooth - no worries! Meggan was warm and kind to work with, and listened to what we wanted and exceeded our expectations. Would definitely chose them again!
**UPDATE** we saved the top tier of our cake for our one year anniversary, and guess what- it STILL tasted GREAT!!
We used Rum Runners for our wedding cake and were so thrilled. Meggan and her mom are so kind and easy to work with. We were so late to our tasting and they spent the time with us to make sure we had a great experience. They also have the ability to create whatever your heart desires and that's what impressed me the most. We were able to have cake flavors that spoke to us as a couple. Meggan also took my inspiration photos and created the most beautiful cake. I can't wait to order it again for our anniversary. Truly, it was so nice working with this team and made for a easy wedding day with yummy cake.
Fantastic... they have great vegan and gluten free options that doesn't taste like dirt. Lifesaver for those bread cravings. Plus give her some ideas for specialty foods cakes etc and you have an cake artist. Oooh and if you're diabetic, hands down the best.
Meggan absolutely made my birthday with an incredible cake inspired by Black Rifle's Chocolate Covered Strawberry Cold Brew. She was able to take a drink she had never even tasted before and make it's perfect cake replica. It was moist yet light, and the frosting was the best I've ever tasted. She even delivered it to my party ahead of my guests arrival. She is an artist!

Delicious cakes and brownies! The coffee was much better than expected and the owner was delightful to chat with. I would come back in a heartbeat.
Very friendly staff! I had veggie quiche for breakfast and it was delicious.
They also make party cakes of all kinds.
We did a lot of searching across Savannah for our wedding cake because we wanted peach flavor, not a cake with peach chunks.... This shop was the only one who hit the nail on the head! The cake was gorgeous, delivery was on time the day of, and it was much more affordable than any other company that quoted us. The cake was delicious! Our guests raved about it! Would 100% recommend, as long as you go into the shop for the tasting and discuss all of your specifications in person. We had some difficulty with communication and getting receipts for payment. They have several associated email addresses, some of which go unchecked. They also have facebook messenger, which they were very responsive to. Overall, they make amazing cakes and we'll definitely use them again!
Lovely little place to stop for a sweet treat!! We appreciated that they had vegan and gf options available - and they tasted wonderful! And we experienced true southern hospitality, the mother and daughter team were so nice - giving us directions and other places to check out.
Meggan was so great!! Her Cakes were so great and everyone at our wedding LOVED our cake pops! She was so awesome to work with and everything was delicious. I would definitely recommend her for any event you are having and need a sweet treat!! :)
Rum runners is fantastic! I love the quaintness of their store on a little corner downtown. It may be hard to find parking but it's worth it! I've always gone in to get treats which never disappoint and had my wedding cake made by them. The red velvet, butter, and hummingbird cakes are to die for. I also love they can do buttercream fondant because it's so yummy
This was a gem that I got recommended by a friend who used to live down the street from the place. It was hard not to order it all, as it looked so tasty. The baker was very nice and helpful with taking my order. The assortment of 4 mini rum cakes was a great hit. Also the buckeyes were amazing, be sure to try them! I will be sure to come back next time I’m in Savannah and have already spread the word about this great local bakery.
Beautiful and delicious cakes for any occasion, even the gluten free and vegan options. I love getting the mini loafs. Just the perfect size of goodness. The foccacia is also amazing. Oh, and of course the rum cakes of various flavors are a Savannah staple (ive had a few shipped with great results)
