Stopped by this place as a spur of the moment thing.. kind of a last minute spontaneity. This place was quiet and suprisengly had a little dining area.. the outside is a bit to be desired, but I try to give every place a chance and I'm glad I did. I love BBQ and this was right on my way. The ribs are pork and was falling off the bones, and the baked beans were creamy just how I like it, not too sweet, not to sauced. The customer service is whats to be expected in a small place like this in a busy passing area, southern hospitality 😁. Its a bit different, but I care about the cleanliness and the food which seemed to be right in place, the prices are reasonable, and I mean, who doesn't love BBQ?? 😊. I had the kids try some to get their opinion and one said, " now that's what I'm talking about!" Lol, and the other asked, " why does the mac n cheese taste tangy? " it had a taste we can only describe as bitter/vinegar like 🤷🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️. The overall was good, no food poisening or sickness. Let us know if you visit and what the food taste like for consistant taste review.

They are pricey compared to other BBQ spots and their ribs aren’t as seasoned, although good. They also do not give as much meat as other spots. The greens are lacking flavor in my opinion but the green beans are good. The food is decent. Customer service is good. The young lady with red dreadlocks is nice and attentive. The older ladies are also nice. Atmosphere gives a nice BBQ shack feel.

I'm visiting the city of Savannah and I hadn't had anything to eat since 530am today and it's now 3pm. The work I was doing required a full stomach, rest and muscles. I was on empty, literally. I typed in "food" in Google maps and this place was the closest. I hadn't had BBQ in a while. My wife and I have a rule if the BBQ spot doesn't have sausage, we don't stop. Smokey's has sausage and I ordered it. I must say the lady behind the counter was a joy to order with as she had gospel music in the background. I ordered number 19, and my 2 meats were sausage and chopped bone-in chicken, with macaroni and baked beans, sweet tea and cornbread. Grand total for me was $22 and it was worth every penny. Good food in Savannah is hard to find. It's not the tourist spots you should visit. It's the small places that might not deliver and seem to be in their customer friendly location for a long time. I'll be back with my family and tonight, I'm sharing my leftovers with my sister and we probably won't finish them all. You get plenty of food.

This is a pulled pork BBQ Sandwich worth talking about. I had it with the "hot bbq sauce ". It was perfection. The staff was overly nice and helpful. The place is not where you would go for fine dining. It is more what you would expect from dives and diners. Highly recommended for the bbq enthusiasts.

When you come here to eat be very hungry. They make a plate like your mother makes on Sunday. If you go home hungry it not because they don’t give enough food it’s because you didn’t eat it all and decided to take it home and eat it later. This is the best bbq plate you can get in the area. It’s the best value for the price and they staff is awesome.

That's how a plate of smoked brisket should look! The taste matches the looks. Very delicious smokey flavor, very moist, and well seasoned. I'll definitely return.

It is a hole in the wall kind of place. Looks can be deceiving! That's why u don't judge by appearances. The food was great. They give you big portions.the food had flavor and the tea was sweet. People were friendly. No a/c only fans inside if you plan on dining in.

Smokey's BBQ, in the G-City (Garden City) just up the river from Downtown Savannah GA, is an old school rib joint with more than just slabs of smoked ribs. Chicken, Pork butts, beef brisket and of course ribs are all on the smoker/menu. Sandwiches or plates can be had with a good variety of sides, all the usuals like Brunswick stew, slaw, or collards, as well as Savannah favorites like red rice. Daily rotation of desserts. The plate of smoked chicken they served with two sides was huge! The ladys in the back are sweet natured and glad to see regulars come back for more. You can see Smokey's from Hwy 21 but you've got to drive round the corner to find the lot. Worth it. - apparently the National Park Service enjoys a good sense of irony and ribs.

We were on the road going through Georgia, Hungry for some barbecue, so we did a search of barbecue near me. The original place we ended up at was closed, Only open a few days a week. So we kept on driving when my husband, Out of the corner of his eyes, Saw the sign for smokey's barbecue and we pulled over. It was only a small trailer on a corner lot next to a lime tree. It was a sweltering hot humid day in the 90's. Some people were standing outside next to the trailer waiting to order. Others were jumping in and out of their air-conditioned cars waiting for their number to be called. The wait was very long hence the service score of 3. My husband and I took turns waiting in the heat to order. When it was our turn I ended up ordering. We didn't have Rib money since we were traveling on a budget and this was our splurge for the day. We came hungry and ready to eat. Our hearts were set on pulled pork. To my dismay they were out. Beef brisket was a 30 minute wait but they had chicken ready to go. Chicken "sandwich" it was. Once we received our order, it was package in a Styrofoam box. There was two pieces of bread in my box and my husband's. I had what looked like several thighs chopped into 3rds bones and all. My husband had legs. Clearly it wasn't a conventional "sandwich" but a box of bbq chicken oddly cut into pieces with bones with some bread thrown in. Once we received our order we inhaled it. The chicken was moist and tender. It was messy with bbq sauce and so delicious. Each portion was 8$ I thanked the chef. My only complaint is I didn't get to try the pulled pork or the "Pile of Ribs"

Got the pork, brisket, smoked sausage, greens and potato salad. The food was pretty good, not a fan of most potato salads but it definitely wasn't the worst I've had. The baked beans were different though, completely unique flavor!! The smoked sausage was amazing, and the ribs were super moist, very well done!!
