Intimate Italian restaurant. Great food!! We ordered the lasagna and Pappardelle Alfredo (adding chicken). Everything was very delicious. The bread was very fresh, we enjoyed our salads, and the entrees we quite delicious! We did not have to wait long for our table, even though the restaurant was very busy!!
There is no on-site parking, which is common in this area, but wanted to mention. At 7:30 pm on a Saturday, we had no issue finding a relatively close spot.
We were greeted warmly by the staff and they took our temperature which is totally understandable considering the times that we live in with covid. After inspecting the menu and looking at the food chef came tableside and suggested a bottle of wine and he personally recommended a wine from Sardinia, Italy. The perfect little corner store for a date night you don't need a reservation. Fresh ciabatta, and the bolognese and gnocchi were beyond perfect
Little heat on the shrimp scampi but delish flavor nonetheless. Took longer than 20 minutes for takeout but worth the wait. AMAZING side of bread!
This lasagna was absolutely delicious seasoned perfectly and for $8 that was definitely a deal. Service was great my wife ordered the chicken Parmesan was good but the chicken could have been better in favor. But the noodles were good with the chicken but the lasagna made up for it all I will definitely be back ‼️
My husband and I have eaten here twice and we love it! It’s what I would call a hole in the wall for decor but the food and wine is authentic Italian! Chef has visited our table both times we visited! Taking some friends this Friday night, that has visited Italy as well, can’t wait for them to discover this hidden authentic Italian restaurant with us! The wine in the pic is awesome! Felt like we were in Italy again but only 15 minutes from home!
Incredible food at an even more incredible price. It's easy to see the love put into the food, and it's great for both a quick bite at lunch, or a full meal during dinner. Pasta dishes are delicious and comforting, while the pizzas are excellent, with great flavor in the dough and sauce. Service is great too, with attention and passion for the menu and restaurant.
Overall, this is easily one of the best, down-to-earth Italian restaurants in Savannah.
Don't overlook this neighborhood gem. Chef Walter is from Naples. Naples! Translation: this is real Italian food y'all. The ingredients are all fresh. The sauce is bright and tastes like real food (no jars here). The pizza is so good (says the lady who can tell the difference between New Haven, NYC or Hoboken pizza). The pasta is light, fresh and comforting. And now the best part...the price. Case in point: Chicken Parmesan and spaghetti lunch is $7. You read that right. The chicken is pounded paper thin and fills the plate. The spaghetti serving is a lunch size serving but satisfying and filling (not excessive American portion- I never leave hungry). Garnished with fresh chopped basil highlights the freshness of the sauce. Real grated Parmesan is always an option. Satisfying and you don't feel gross like a $7 fast food value meal. Dinners average $12 and the servings are larger. So why aren't you there yet?
I'm so glad to have found my new favorite Italian spot in town. Forgive me for not remembering the dishes official names but I had the lunch portion of chicken Parmigiano? And it was the best I ever had!!! The pasta was perfect. The sauce was perfect. The chicken cutlet was the best ever. And this dish was $8.50. I also ordered the garlic and olive oil pasta to go and had that for dinner. It was so delicious. The salad was great. The bread was great. The service was great. I love this place!
Service was excellent, and prompt. Food was great. We got the fried ravioli for an app, and the stuffed shells, pesto gnocchi, and sausage rigatoni for entrees. I was looking over the bottle menu and Walter brought one out off the menu, and it was really good. Definitely will be back, the sweet potato gnocchi is on my list next.
I'm Italian and can honestly say the food here is absolutely delizioso! Everything is cooked fresh, served hot, with large portions for a very fair price. The chef puts love into his cooking and cares about his patrons dining experience, which is refreshing. The servers are very friendly, and the restaurant is clean. Do yourself a favor, drop in and have a great meal!
Cute hidden gem, great food.. fantastic meal start to finish. Off the beaten path and the food was amazing. Ended up getting all 3 desserts and they did not disappoint. Best fried ravioli I've ever had. Mushroom ravioli with vodka sauce and shrimp pesto pasta were delicious as was the fresh bread. You can tell the owner takes pride in his food. My birthday dinner was phenomenal... thank you!
Hands down the best Italian food I've ever had. The restaurant is a small, unassuming place that is very intimate and clean. The bread is a perfect balance of a crust that isn't rock hard and a soft center. No burnt or undercooked bread here. The lasagna was absolutely to die for. All of the flavors blend beautifully and melt in your mouth. The same can be said for the chicken piccata. No harsh bite from the wine or lemon. Can't wait to come back and try the pizzas and chicken parmigiana.
As some of the other reviews have said, yes the salads are at about room temperature, but the flavors are good. And unlike pretty much anywhere you go anymore, these salads are actually green. This is much preferred over the white salads you get everywhere else.
Overall, better prices and leaps & bounds better food than any Italian restaurant in Savannah; especially the chain restaurants.
Oh. My. Goodness! To call this food delicious is an understatement. Pasta cooked perfectly. Food plated and served very well. Taste is extraordinary. Absolutely recommend to anyone that loves Italian!! If I could give them 6 stars, I would. Huge shout-out to Shorty at Churchill's for recommending this place to us!
DUDE! Bocci’s is our favorite place in town. We go there at least once a month and it is a delight every single time. The owner is the chef and his wife works front of house. They know what they’re doing, they care about the quality and have never had anything but a great meal here. Their portions are generous and the bread is perfect! We love Bocci’s!
My ONLY complaint is the cheese. I feel that for such good food they’re doing a disservice to sprinkle it with the cheap Parmesan cheese that comes in a bottle. Get yourselves a hand-held cheese grater, a block of Parmesan and offer that table-side instead.
Great Italian food that you need to check out! After a week of eating at the expensive and popular Savannah spots, we stumbled upon this place for a great meal, great service and a great value. The chef made sure we had a very good bottle of wine to go with our delicious shrimp pesto and fantastic sausage rigatoni. Great night out at an unexpected Italian treat.
The food was good, I loved the bread and the pesto! I did like that they had indoor and outdoor seating. Something to keep in mind, true Italian dining is a drawn out affair, so don't act like an American and get mad if they aren't at your table every few minutes. The philosophy is to let you enjoy your evening and conversation, so be cognizant of that. I am updating my review from last May. I previously gave 4 stars but I think th quality of food deserves a 5.
