We always ask locals for restaurant recommendations and this one came from a staffer at the JW Marriott. Her recommendation did not disappoint! We allowed our server to make most of our selections and everything from the firecracker shrimp, to the sushi rolls, to the drinks and dessert--was amazing! We will definitely be back!

Great venue, staff were approachable and knowledgeable, food was fantastic. This was a recommendation from a local and can thoroughly recommend if you are in Scottsdale - make this a restaurant you have to visit. Visiting from Melbourne, Australia.

Great vibe, ambience, margs, staff and the food was so, so good! We sat at the bar and Jonathan, the bartender was awesome and told us about some of his favorite dishes. I highly recommend this place and will definitely go back! So many more dishes to try!!

Been here more than a few times , always busy. The food can come out at different times but the service and atmosphere is A1 . My favorites are the rib eye guacamole , ask for extra chips and the sea bass was amazing !!! The steak platter is good for sharing with a few people as peices easily pull apart . Great place for a hip upscale dinning experience .

Extremely good food ! The way they put together Asian and Mexican food is amazing. Their drinks are spectacular ! The atmosphere is lovely and I love the tvs to watch games but a upscale decor not a sports bar look. Will return !

Amazing service by our waiter, Daniel I believe. Brunch menu, especially the chorizo scrambled eggs, were AMAZING! Bottomless mimosas and bloody Mary’s were a welcomed addition as well.

The concept and atmosphere of the restaurant has a nice allure. The food we ordered was an ambitious crossover of cultures at times, which mostly worked out. I do not recommend the Pico de Gallo sushi, very contradicting. Other than that very great time, just that service seemed very busy. Cocktails were well executed and had great character.

Sumomaya’s bottomless brunch is definitely something worth trying! You’re getting great value (unlimited small plates and 1 entree) and the food is delicious (I was able to try all of the small plates barely and they were all good). I highly recommend going with an empty stomach!

We went here for a bachelorette party and had so much fun!! The drinks were great and the food was even better. Love that it’s tapas style, so you can order a lot to share

We visited SumoMaya back in early September 2023. The restaurant delivered a captivating fusion of Mexican and Asian cuisine, creating a dining experience that truly stood out for its innovation and flavors. The ambiance in the restaurant was cool and collected, and the drinks were tasty and on point. Our food recommendations are the traditional guac, the shaking beef, the yakisoba pan fried noodles, and the spicy yellowtail roll. For drinks, I strongly suggest the green "magic" mojito-- so refreshing! While the prices reflect the upscale setting, SumoMaya offers a unique and memorable adventure for those seeking a change from traditional dining.

Went in with a group of 8 for bottomless brunch on a Saturday. Made reservations in advance and were seated immediately when we arrived. The ambiance is beautiful and the service was amazing. Our server was Zack, and he was literally running around, providing the best service to us and all of his tables. Our bottomless drinks were never empty and there was a steady stream of delicious food coming to our table. Would highly recommend! Ask for Zack and you’ll have a great experience!

My favorite dinner spot in Scottsdale. SumoMaya has very creative options, great for vegetarians also! Dishes are beautiful. Lovely ambience. I went for my birthday dinner, amazing service even with a group of 12.

We had a date afternoon, what a great choice for lunch! The queso dip is unbelieveable, i have only had velveta. The palbano peppers with crab were great! My husband is an east coast seafood man. Definitely inviting our hispanic friends for lunch, they are great cooks.

We first visited SumoMaya in 2018 and had an exceptionally memorable experience. We've since been back a handful of times over the years and it's been our go-to spot to bring friends and family for special occassions. In my previous dining experiences, you couldn't go wrong - everything dinner, drink and dessert item was outstanding. My experience this time around was unfortunately underwhelming and inconsistent. The blood orange margaritas were exceptional, as were the Ahi Tuna Tostada. The street corn had amazing flavours but it was served warm so was mediorce. The Jalapeno Yellowtale dish was great except a couple of the sushimi pieces were outrageously spicy - it felt like something other than the Jalepeno was the culprit. The biggest dissapointment of the night though was the dessert. In the past, the dessets have been the most memorable part of the night - they were creative and had a excelled on the fusion front. This around we orded the 'Sticky Cake', which is described as "Chocolate date cake, bourbon-butter toffee sauce + Mayan chocolate". It would describe it as an underwelming dry brownie. In comparison, I attached a photo of our 2018 desserts that were exceptional and visually stunning. I will be back to SumoMaya as I hope this was an isolated dissapointing experience.

This place is beautiful 😍 but it was hot inside. The amount of money this place is making they shouldn't have a problem getting their AC working. I order the tacos and the drinks was good. FYI fellas lots of beautiful women come here 🤪😜💋

There's not any negatives. Went for brunch and for $40 I got to try a little bit of everything. Had a full entree, and a little dessert as well.. For an additional $20 you get bottomless mimosas. Our server was on top of things and service was fast. Maybe the only downside is that you can only stay for 2hrs. But the ambience was fun and the live DJ was nice.

The food was pretty good. We had some sushi and Dan Dan noodles. The spicy Dan Dan was delicious! As spicy as I like them! But the sushi was alright. It tasted like other sushi I've had before at a much cheaper price. The desert was okay, I personally don’t like lemon in my desert and it turns out their chocolate cake desert (forgot the name of it) had a lemon taste to it. I couldn’t eat it. The ambiance was great very dim and upbeat. Seems like the perfect place for brunch or dinner with friends. We sat at the bar because there wasn't any tables available on Valentine's Day but it was fine we got great service anyways while at the bar. The bar tenders were really nice. I like how unique their drinks are. They added a little touch to it. I didn't drink, but my boyfriend did and said their drinks are good. He got a regular old fashion. Next time I come I'll try out a cocktail.

We had the bottomless brunch and it was very tasty, and reasonably priced for how much you can eat and the quality. Can definitely recommend.

Delicious date night spot! A little higher end price-wise but we had a gift card so we balled out: tried the oysters, lobster ceviche, tuna tostada, pork al pastor pad thai, two amazing rolls, and the tres leches dessert. Plus cocktails! Everything was beautifully presented, tasted amazing, and the vibe inside is super hip and fun. Would love to dine here again!

Amazing vibe and aesthetic. Love the bar and dining area. Service was nice. It was pretty busy but servers were pretty much always available. Drinks were superb. Definitely recommend the sumorita. That was my favorite! The Match a date was OK but a little too sour for my liking. Food was ok. If you are not tolerant of spicy foods, I was be wary. The spicy crab noodles were so spicy that I couldn’t eat it and I love spicy food. Beware the Diablo sauce! Edamame was salted and spiced. The shishito peppers, crispy rock shrimp, and Mexican street corn were delicious. Dan dan noodles and avocado fried rice were also good. I really enjoyed the Maya roll with spicy tuna. One really important thing to note is that they have little to no options for folks with peanut allergies. They only have one fryer and don’t seem to have much knowledge on whether or not there is cross contamination. We were told that the steak was the only option. Now for my standard COVID comments as of May 2023. No one in town is really wearing masks. With that being said, this location is clean and seating is comfortable. Was ok eating indoors here!

Excellent ambiance and always a great place to enjoy cocktails and well made dishes. A few highlights worth noting: Pomegranate Guacamole Bacon+Medjool Dates Toro Sashimi Chilean Sea Bass Shaking Beef So many more delicious things to try... the cocktails are also excellent. I recommend the Kemuri.
