Stopped in for their Homemade Clam chowder and stayed for the Blueberry pie. Yes, it was 5 star good. Best lunch I have had all vacation.
While this was our second choice for tonight's dinner, it was one of the best surprises we've had in Maine so far.
Bartender Jason was busy but very attentive to all his guests and proved to be knowledgeable about everything on the menu. He recommended great local beer and delicious meals for the family.
Children's haddock was tasty and delicately crunchy. It was also the biggest kids meal I've ever seen.
We adults had the creamy, tender seafood platter on a puff pastry (sorry, forgot the name) and the juicy, lightly grilled halibut (you can also get it blackened with Cajun spices).
Even the bread was fresh, crunchy, yet soft and served with scrumptious home-made honey butter.
The portions were huge, but we fought a good fight and finished everything. Prices are expected to be higher but it's not a high end restaurant. Instead, I would call it a cozy, well-decorated bar where locals and regulars come to meet.
Very pleasant lunch. Fish chowder was great, full of fish and few potatoes. Pesto burger and fries very good. The citrus salad also top notch. Friendly staff, nice decor, and reasonably priced. Will be stopping in again especially before our annual hike to Hunters beach or after the garden stops.
Nice, cozy, quiet place with great food! We had clam chowder, crab cakes and a fish fry including the best cole slaw! All was delicious and not crowded like Bar Harbour.
We’ve learned during the pandemic that good restaurant food is not always great when you have to take it out by the time you get it home. We had never been to this restaurant before but noticed it in our travels, and needed to take out our meal tonight. The Primavera (prepared exactly as requested) and the stuffed haddock were wonderfully prepared, carefully and thoughtfully packed such that by the time we got back to our hotel room we were able to enjoy a wonderful meal. Thank you to the owner and staff, hang in there, we hope to visit you in person, when this mess is over the next time we’re in Acadia.
Friendly staff, good honest food. The lobster stew was fantastic.
(Edit) we ate here a few more times:
- lobster Benedict for breakfast, yum!
- halibut char grilled with asparagus 👍 and strawberry rhubarb pie 😋
Great resturant, amazing food and good service
Burger and fries very good, free burger for my dog. Salad with grilled chicken okay. French onion soup good. Service good. Food served quickly. Not crowded like a lot of Bar Harbor restaurants appear to be. Reasonable prices and nice atmosphere.
