This is by far the best seafood in Monterey.
You have to stop by and try out everything on the menu. I have travelled far for good seafood and I was blown away by the portion, quality and service for the new restaurant.
The team was great and accommodating. Feel free to just walk in and grab a table. I had a wonderful server and the owner even bought us a round on the house. What a great time.
I will say this is a 10/5 If I could and I can not say enough about this place. Love it and it's my new favorite on the Peninsula.
I hope all the best for the new Beer Garden! This place is a Monty Ray 5 Star Home Run!
Six stars for food, 3 stars for location and ambiance. Delicious coastal Mexican cuisine, specializing in seafood. Sister, more low-key and kid-friendly, restaurant to adjacent second location for Fish Wife restaurant. Apparently the Monterey Turtle Bay location closed about two years ago, so you'll need to visit Seaside to try this delicious and, depending what you order, potentially healthy meal.
Delicious tacos! Right amount of food, short waiting time, great customer service, clean place and fair price.
I love the food. The staff member it was amazing. Thanks!
The food here is phenomenal. Everything tasted fresh and our fries were extra crispy. Our server Andrea was so polite and attentive. I definitely recommend this place - some of the best service in town.
I don't eat a lot of Mexican food mostly because I'm not a fan of cilantro nor avocado- two ingredients common in this cuisine. That said, Turtle Bay is the only Mexican restaurant I go to locally. Their steak tacos are delish. Tortilla chips are made fresh and for salsa lovers, they offer a few options. You can also find vegetarian options. The food is not salty either. Wait staff are always friendly, too.
One of my favorite restaurants since I was a kid. Everything is good. Shrimp nachos and AMAZING. The best salsa ever. Delicious carnitas burrito, fantastic seafood burrito, great quesadillas all of them. The mole is soo good. Overall just bomb food and great people
Had lunch at this place yesterday ( 2/7/19). I love the name of the restaurant and the teal colored decor. As we walked inside, we were greeted with friendly smiles from the kitchen cooks and the wait staff. It smelled delicious. A good seafood restaurant doesn't have a stinky fish smell. Once seated, our food server arrived to take our drink order. He was a an elder gentlemen, not on the tall side. He is polite, knowledgeable, charming, efficient, and has a sense of humor. This man is the kind of professional food server any well known, good, reputable restaurant would be lucky to have working for them. I would know, I worked in restaurants for many years. The seafood gumbo was perfect. The bread delicious. The grilled Cajun tilapia salad was large with a nice portion of fresh tasty fish topping it. Their menu is varied and offers many selections. Price is moderate (well worth the amount you spend). Fantastic, friendly staff. This restaurant gets 2 huge thumbs up for me and a guaranteed return. Thank you to our server (sorry I didnt get your name) the cooks and staff for a great experience at Turtle Bay taqueria. Highly recommend.
This is a favorite of mine and my partner's. You can find us here almost every week. Their food selection and taste is quite wonderful, and their prices can't be beat for the plate sizes. My usual is the tostaco (rotating amongst chicken, steak, or tilapia each visit), but I've tried other items on the menu and not had anything bad. I think the taqueria in Seaside is better tasting than the one in Monterey but that one too is still a 2-3 for food quality and taste (and Monterey's is much larger and within walking distance of the Osio theater).
I love love love Turtle Bay. Even though they raised their prices a bit I still eat here at least once a week. Super fresh produce, creative salsas and the Xinipec hot habanero salsa will cure whatever ails ya. Plus they use compostable straws in the drinks
Smaller than I expected, but the guacamole was excellent. They allowed our dog on the patio, which was very accommodating. $4.25 for a Negra Modelo seemed a bit pricey though.
Very nice, I found out tgat I like refried black beans, I have never been a fancier of black beans but these were great.
Carlos is a great cook! Come in the evening for dinner, he will cook for you a delicious dinner, my fav: salmon tostaco.
The food is amazing, especially the tacos. Always drive here from Salinas when I can. Highly recommended.
Quite good Caribbean-Mexican food. Healthy and well prepared but sometimes inconsistent from cook turnover.
