I ordered the lobster roll online for a dinner pickup. I arrived early, parking wasn't terrible. My food came out almost right on time (if not on time). They were not busy at 6:00p.m. I ordered water and white wine and took my food to the beach lookout. I saw a comment or two about the bread not being soft but mine was really soft. Similar to a less garlicky Texas toast bread. It came with a side of butter and I got a side of chips. It was really filling though some of it might be the bread. For $42 (lobster roll only) I thought it to be a little expensive considering full entree meals run you that other places but it was an experience, somewhere new, hadn't had a lobster roll before, and it was good so I'm not too mad at the price. I enjoyed my wine, my lobster and my view. I'd definitely go back and try other menu items.
It was delicious, the only thing that would’ve made it better was the bread. It was on the dry side, I prefer softer bread with my lobster rolls like a garlic lightly toasted bread. For anyone wanting to know the price range my lobster roll was $38 today but it depends on the day, most menu items are around the $20 range.
I seen all of the good and bad reviews but everyone seemed to love the lobster roll so that’s what I got. We sat there for maybe 5 minutes and it was out. Food was amazing. I paid 45$ for my lobster roll, bag of chips, and a drink. Very expensive but who cares when ur at the beach. Highly recommend.
Adequate but pricey food. Central but boring location. Oysters were good and the lobster grilled cheese was good! Skip the tacos.
If you want it fresh, you can’t go wrong with shrimp shack. They have the best stuff for the area. If you want the best on 30A try goat feathers. That’s my preference for our seafood gumbo if we didn’t catch all that we needed that day to make our own.
I have eaten here 2 summers in a row if that says anything. This is a walk up counter in Seaside where all the other food shacks and shopping is located. You order, pay, find seating outside and when your food is ready they call out your name & come find you. I loved the very pricey Lobster roll both summers and this year I ate the best lobster Mac & cheese ever! Great key lime pie too… Yes it is expensive - but it is vacation at Seaside. 🤷♀️
I’ll be back !
Heard great things about lobster Mac n cheese. We come here weekly as we live down the street and with a break between spring break and upcoming memorial day, we had no crowds and were surely not disappointed. I highly recommend anything with fresh shrimp and they have a Lobster Cobb salad that is a culinary delight and a great invention service is spot on funny guy who runs the food almost like dinner and a show. We'll definitely come back for more
I visit Seaside for two things: the quaint charm, and the Lobster roll from The Shrimp Shack! It's simple and perfect with a splash of lemon and a little butter to enhance the velvety texture of the Lobster. The only disappointment was the fact that it has doubled in price of the last year or two. Be prepared to shell out $40 for this scrumptious sandwich.
truly the BEST shrimp tacos i have ever had!!! the rest of my group got the lobster rolls and said they were fantastic as well & the staff was so friendly. 100% recommend!!!
Oysters and 1/2 lb of steamed shrimp were good. Plenty of outdoor seating.
The gumbo was amazing along with the potato salad, crab cake, and steamed shrimp. We were looking forward to experiencing the lobster melt and lobster mac, unfortunately they had already sold out for the day. We will have to come back next time we are in town.
We ate here at least twice during our weeklong stay. We liked how light the lobster roll was, especially since it was so hot out! The oysters were big, salty & fresh and paired perfectly with a half price bottle of rose at happy hour! The smoked tuna dip is delightfully spicy! Definitely stop by.
I tried their crab cake. 100% crab meat, no filling. It was satisfying. Our table had oysters, grouper sandwich, and tacos. They were all very good.
The shrimp basket was cooked just right and the drinks we good. The counter service restaurant was right on the beach so the view is great. There's a little wait but the service was efficient. Only downside is that the prices were high - but that's every place in Seaside.
If I could give this place 10 stars I would! BEST gumbo you'll ever eat, period! We come to the gulf (near Destin) for vacation once a year, and no matter what, we drive over to Seaside for a gumbo bread bowl. Love this place! Thank you George! We'll see you back again soon!!
